Future Perspectives On The Diagnosis And Management Of Neonatal Bacterial Sepsis: Overcoming Current Challenges In Clinical Practice: Review
Sepsis remains the2ndcause of death amongst neonatesafterthepathological consequences of extreme prematurity. Onthis assessment we summarized knowledge approximately pathogens causing early onset sepsis (EOS) and Late-onset sepsis(LOS),the role of perinatal risk factors in determining the EOS danger, and the tools used to reduce unnecessary antibiotics. New molecular assays should enhance the accuracy of standards bloodcultures, providing the opportunity foraquick and sensitive method. Exceptional sepsis standards and biomarkers are available to date, but further research is needed to guide use of antibiotics in line with these tools. beyond the historic antibiotic regimens in EOS and LOS episodes, antibiotics should be based totally at the local flora and promptly modulated if precise pathogens are recognized. The possibility ofanantibioticlock therapy for central venouscatheters hasto be similly investigated. Artificial intelligence could help usto personalize remedies andreduce the increasing trend of multidrug-resistant bacteria
Identification of Students' Errors in Solving Mathematical Literacy Problems on Quadratic Function Material
Mathematical literacy is an essential skill to master; however, the results of the PISA survey participated in by Indonesia indicate the low mathematical literacy skills of Indonesian students. To address the low level of students' literacy skills, it is necessary to identify the types of errors students make in solving mathematical literacy problems. This study aimed to analyze the errors made by junior high school students in solving mathematical literacy problems on linear function material. The research design used was a descriptive qualitative approach by selecting tree Grade VIII junior high school students from one of the schools in Bengkulu City as the subjects. The data were obtained using a mathematical literacy test instrument on linear function material given to the students. The description of errors was derived from analyzing the students’ work in solving problems within the process domain of mathematical literacy. Based on the analysis of students’ answers, several errors were found when they solved mathematical literacy problems in the processes of formulating, employing, and interpreting. The students’ errors in solving problems on quadratic function material included, at the formulate stage, failing to write the given and required information from the problem, and incompletely translating the problem into mathematical expressions. At the employ stage, students made errors in the solution steps, such as calculation mistakes and errors in algebraic operations. At the interpret stage, students made mistakes in formulating the solution into a proper conclusion
Evaluation Prospective De L'impact Environnemental De La Production Cuprifère De La Gécamines Sur L’exposition De La Population A La Radioactivité Des Scories Sur Les Zones Avoisinantes
This study assesses the prospective environmental impact of mining activities carried out by Gécamines (GCM-UL), with a particular focus on the risks associated with the radioactivity of slag resulting from copper production. Slag, a solid residue generated in large quantities, sometimes contains naturally occurring radioactive elements, raising concerns about its accumulation near inhabited areas and the potential consequences for human health and the environment. The main objective of the research is twofold: firstly, to analyse the environmental effects of copper production; and secondly, to propose adaptation and mitigation measures. The study adopts both a quantitative and qualitative approach, through a descriptive, cross-sectional, and analytical methodology. It aims to anticipate the medium- and long-term impacts on surrounding areas. The results reveal a strong local perception of the environmental effects of mining activities: 69.4% of respondents consider the impact to be significant (very strong, strong, or moderate). The “moderate” level, cited by 33.3%, suggests that while the negative effects are clearly perceived, they are not yet experienced as irreversible, but nonetheless remain a matter of concern. This perception reflects a growing awareness of environmental issues within local communities. The study concludes that the radioactivity present in slag poses a serious health and environmental risk, especially in cases of prolonged exposure. Poor management of this waste could have lasting effects on public health and ecosystems. Therefore, it is crucial to strengthen environmental monitoring, adopt sustainable methods for managing mining residues, and make use of safer technologies. Finally, close collaboration between Gécamines and public authorities is essential for implementing strict environmental policies capable of protecting local populations and their environment in the long term
Integration Of The STEM Approach In PJBL Learning To Build Mathematical Critical Thinking Skills
Education must teach 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. However, conventional approaches are still used in mathematics learning, which do not adequately hone students' critical thinking skills. This research aims to analyze how effective the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach combined with the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is in improving students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The STEM approach has been introduced as a solution, but there has not been much in-depth research on how effective it is. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was used for nine articles that met the inclusion criteria. These articles discuss the application of STEM in mathematics learning and its impact on students' critical thinking skills. It shows that the PjBL-STEM approach consistently improves students' ability to think critically. Through learning projects, this model encourages students to think analytically and creatively actively and to link mathematical concepts with real-world situations. The results show that the integration of PjBL with the STEM approach helps build skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and decision-making in the modern era. Therefore, educators should widely apply this model in the learning process, especially in subjects that require high intelligence such as mathematics
Application of Tuna Skin Gelatin Edible Film Packaging on Changes in the Quality of Asar Skipjack Tuna During Storage
Asar skipjack tuna is a processed product of skipjack tuna through a processing process using a hot smoking system. This product is very popular and favored by various levels of society. In addition to being consumed by the people of Ambon city, this product has become a typical souvenir from Ambon. As a typical souvenir of Ambon city, this product has not been packaged with adequate packaging. Smoked skipjack tuna produced by processors in Hative Kecil Village generally has a shelf life of only 2 days at room temperature (27 – 30 °C). The purpose of this study was to study the changes in the quality of smoked skipjack tuna packaged with edible film tuna skin gelatin during storage at room temperature. The experimental design was a completely randomized factorial design (CRFD) with variables A1 (packaged with edible film), A2 (without packaging/as a control), and variables B1 (storage day 0), B2 (storage day 1), B3 (storage day 3), B4 (storage day 4). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The variables observed were water content, TBA, and sensory values. The results showed that water content and TBA increased during storage. The rate of increase in water content and TBA was lower than that of smoked skipjack tuna that was not packaged. The sensory value of smoked skipjack tuna that was not packaged was rejected by the panelists on the third day, while the smoked skipjack tuna that was packaged with edible film was rejected on the fourth day
Neuro-Ophthalmic Pharmacology In Retinopathy Management
Objective:This study aims to evaluate the use of pharmacological therapy in the management of neuro-ophthalmic disorders, specifically diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy and optic neuritis, by analyzing prevalence, therapeutic differences, and their statistical significance. Methods:A retrospective-analytic study was conducted at the Clinic of Ophthalmology and the Clinic of Neurology, University Clinical Center of Kosovo, during the period January 2024 – January 2025. A total of 200 patients were included: 80 with diabetic retinopathy, 40 with hypertensive retinopathy, and 80 with optic neuritis. Data were collected from medical records and analyzed regarding the use of pharmacological treatments (anti-VEGF agents, intravitreal corticosteroids, systemic antidiabetics, and antihypertensives), with comparisons made across diagnostic groups. Results:Diabetic retinopathy and optic neuritis were the most prevalent conditions (40% each), followed by hypertensive retinopathy (20%). Anti-VEGF agents were the most frequently used therapy in diabetic retinopathy (81.2%), antihypertensives in hypertensive retinopathy (87.5%), and intravitreal corticosteroids in optic neuritis (75%). Statistical analysis showed significant differences in drug utilization across diagnoses: the difference in anti-VEGF use between diabetic retinopathy and optic neuritis was highly significant (p < 0.001); corticosteroids were used significantly more often in optic neuritis (p < 0.01); while antihypertensives were predominantly used in hypertensive retinopathy (p < 0.001).Conclusion:This study provides evidence on the rational and effective use of pharmacological therapies in neuro-ophthalmic conditions, demonstrating that treatment choice is strongly associated with the underlying pathology. The findings contribute to improving clinical guidelines for the management of retinopathies and optic neuritis in hospital practice in Kosovo
