The Safety And Training Process Vis-A-Vis The Challenges Being Faced In An Organisation. A Case Study Of The Nigeria Police Force
This study investigates the role of safety and training in enhancing the performance, job satisfaction, and organisational effectiveness of officers within the Nigeria Police Force. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were gathered from 94 officers across key departments at the Force Headquarters Annex in Lagos. Findings reveal that while safety and training are widely recognised as critical to operational success, significant gaps exist in implementation ranging from outdated curricula and inconsistent safety measures to the lack of structured post-training evaluation. A chi-square analysis confirmed a statistically significant relationship between participation in training programmes and self-reported improvements in officer performance (p < 0.01). Qualitative insights further highlight concerns around training relevance, equity in access, and the absence of supportive infrastructure. The study concludes that for the Nigeria Police Force to meet contemporary security demands, there must be a shift from tokenistic training to structured, evaluated, and safety-conscious professional development. It recommends the institutionalisation of transparent training policies, regular review of content, and adequate investment in protective resources.

Stress In The Life Of Nurses And The Impact Of Night Shifts On Their Psychophysical Well-Being
Introduction: Night shifts pose significant challenges and contribute to psychophysical changes among nurses. Twelve-hour shifts are associated with an increased risk of patient care errors, occupational accidents, and work-related injuries. Stress and other workplace factors may further compromise overall health. Night work often results in disturbances in sleep, appetite, energy, concentration, and an increase in psychosomatic complaints such as irritability and feelings of helplessness. Extended and irregular shifts place a heavy burden on nurses, diminishing work performance and raising the likelihood of frequent errors.Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the effects of night shifts on nurses’ psychophysical well-being, with particular focus on occupational stress. The study sought to capture nurses’ perceptions of night work, its impact on their social lives, and its broader implications for health and job performance.Methodology: A quantitative qualitative design was applied. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire distributed to nurses. The study population included nurses employed at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK), involving both genders and all age groups. The sample consisted of 60 nurses. Results: Findings showed that 55% of the nurses worked night shifts, with nearly 85% reporting such work for longer than 24 months. A total of 68% stated they accepted night shifts due to additional pay, while more than half noted that it aligned with their social life. Night work was considered tolerable by 77% of participants. Conclusion: Nurses working night shifts are more likely to experience psychological and mental health challenges such as irritability, somatization, obsessive–compulsive symptoms, interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, mood disturbances, and paranoid tendencies. These findings indicate that night shifts have a negative impact on nurses’ psychological health, social life, and quality of care delivered to patients
Out-of-field Teaching: English as SPED Teachers Lived Experiences
Out-of-field teaching remains a persistent issue in education, especially when teachers are assigned to teach and support students with disabilities in Special Education (SPED) classrooms without the necessary training or qualifications. This study explores the lived experiences of two out-of-field English teachers in SPED, focusing on the challenges they encounter, their coping strategies, and the impact on their professional development. The research utilized qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews, to gather data on the challenges, strategies, and support systems that were accessed by the participants. Despite the lack of specialized training, both teachers demonstrated resilience by adapting their teaching strategies and relying on resourcefulness, creativity, and collaboration with SPED experts. Results revealed that a major challenge was adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, compounded by the lack of training in SPED pedagogy. Both participants emphasized the importance of support mechanisms such as professional development programs and collaboration with experienced SPED teachers. Their dedication and perseverance underscore the need for continuous support, targeted training, and adequate resources to enhance teacher performance and improve student outcomes in SPED classrooms. The findings suggest that, with proper support, out-of-field teachers in SPED settings can still make a meaningful impact on student learning. Ultimately, the study highlights the importance of teacher preparation, collaboration, and professional development in fostering inclusive education for students with special needs

Risk Perception And Urban Disaster Management In The City Of Bukavu, D.R.Congo
The rapid expansion of cities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is accompanied by a range of problems and an increase in natural or anthropogenic disasters. For more than a decade, the city of Bukavu has been experiencing a growing upsurge in natural disasters, including flood and landslides in rainy season, while dry season is marked with episodes of houses fires ravaging entire neighbourhoods with loss of human lives and significant material damages. Beyond the known causes, in July 2023 we have interviewed 454 participants to examine the community experience of disaster and its risk`s perception to gauge their preparedness. Findings show that 83.5% have already witnessed a disaster. About the causes, natural and anthropogenic are generally known by the entire population, including 13,3% of respondents evoking the climate change. However, 60% of the participants attribute disasters to supernatural causes, including evil spirits and the end of the time; this varies significantly with the level of education (p<0.05). Although, 58,7% perceive the risk of disaster, 49% think of prayer among of the prevention strategies while 40,3% said it’s a state duty. Local authorities admitted their weakness in disaster prevention due to laxity in enforcing urban regulations, funds limitation and absence of contingency plan. To remedy this situation, it is important to the authorities to raise awareness, while fighting against corruption would make possible to clean up the urban planning and housing sectors, as well as the application of land laws. Measures to retrace avenues should be restarted
Physical and Dosimetric Characterization of Silicone Rubber–Silver Composite Bolus for Electron Beam Radiotherapy at 9 MeV
Inégalités Sociales Et Politiques Environnementales En RDC : Une Perspective À Travers La Courbe De KUZNETS.
