Finite groups with a trivial Chermak–Delgado subgroup
The Chermak–Delgado lattice of a finite group is a modular, self-dual sublattice of the lattice of subgroups of G. The least element of the Chermak–Delgado lattice of G is known as the Chermak–Delgado subgroup of G. This paper concerns groups with a trivial Chermak–Delgado subgroup. We prove that if the Chermak–Delgado lattice of such a group is lattice isomorphic to a Cartesian product of lattices, then the group splits as a direct product, with the Chermak–Delgado lattice of each direct factor being lattice isomorphic to one of the lattices in the Cartesian product. We establish many properties of such groups and properties of subgroups in the Chermak–Delgado lattice. We define a CD-minimal group to be an indecomposable group with a trivial Chermak–Delgado subgroup. We establish lattice theoretic properties of Chermak–Delgado lattices of CD-minimal groups. We prove an extension theorem for CD-minimal groups, and use the theorem to produce twelve examples of CD-minimal groups, each having different CD lattices. Curiously, quasi-antichain p-group lattices play a major role in the author’s constructions.https://doi.org/10.1515/jgth-2017-004

Kubtec is a leading digital X-ray company based in Stratford, Connecticut. Kubtec offers the most innovative tools in digital x-ray equipment for specimen radiography, low-dose imaging, and forensic analysis. We will show the benefits of applying design thinking to Kubtec’s business problems. The company has three different types of end users. The main challenges for the company are how to communicate more effectively with each end users that includes buyers, X-ray technicians and patients. We also take consideration for utilizing the space. These challenges have become the research questions for this project
Design of Self-cycling QCA Multiplier
Quantum cellular automaton technology (QCA) is a newly-developed technology for next-generation nanoelectronics. It results in high device density, ultra-fast speed and almost zero power dissipation. Multiplier is an important unit in microprocessor design. Traditional N-bit array multiplier consists of N*N adder units and results in large circuit area. In this poster, a novel area-efficient self-cycling architecture for N-bit multiplier is proposed. It ingeniously utilizes the inherent pipeline feature of QCA clock zones to convert the array multiplication into a serial-in serial-out process. In this way, the N-bit multiplier can be implemented with a single (instead of N*N) adder unit, which leads to significant area saving. The proposed self-cycling architecture can be extended to other N-bit QCA circuits as well. It is especially suitable for area-critical QCA circuit design where serial output can be accepted
Drug Cartels and Corruption: How to Stem Violence and Corruption in Mexico
The nations of Central America are facing a threat to both their public’s safety and to their political stability due to drug trafficking, violence and corruption; Mexico is no exception. Mexico is a nation that has suffered in the grips of the drug lords who rule over their cartels with an iron fist, violence and abductions have seem to become the norm. There is some evidence that corruption may be present within the police force and it is often difficult to tell between friend and foe, which causes the public to fear reporting dangerous activities that they are witnessing. This research also examines the role in how U.S. Policy both foreign and domestic impacts the relationship that the United States has with Mexico. It seeks to examine possible suggestions to how to stem the drug trade and corruption in the region while assisting in positive sustainable development of Mexico and the US/Mexico relationship. This research through an interdisciplinary approach, seeks to analyze both academic journals, as well as news articles in order to provide a way to solve the gap found in academic research on the topic of the relationship between drugs, violence, and corruption in Mexico; due to a majority of academic articles providing histories and suggestions versus current information or data. This research postulates that by creating and implementing three mitigation strategies there is a possibility of improving stability and safety in the region. Statement of Purpose: This research seeks to explore the historical and current relationship between various levels of the Mexican government and the Mexican drug cartels. It stands to explore the various levels and types of corruption that are occurring in Mexico and how corruption can be linked to violence and drug trafficking that we are seeing throughout Mexico

This research focuses on examining the meaningful impact that microcredit has had on the poor people in Sierra Leone. Microcredit relates to the provision of money in the form of little trading loans; to impoverished clients and this usually happen in destitute communities, and it is done with the sole purpose of ensuring economic growth through the development of entrepreneurial activities. As a result this is meant to reduce poverty by generating employment and also empowering women
