Variations on a Schubert Commute
An audition at age eleven changed the trajectory of Franz Schubert's life. While following in the footsteps of Schubert and his family as they walked from their home to the Old University Square in Vienna, Jeffrey Johnson has developed insights into Schubert's personality with this meditation on a critical moemnt in the life of a composer. The variations he explores are a bridge from an ordinary experience into a life that was densely extraordinary
Fostering Project Scheduling and Controlling Risk Management
Deployment of emerging technologies and rapid change in industries has created a lot of risk for initiating the new projects. Many techniques and suggestions have been introduced but still lack the gap from various prospective. This paper proposes a reliable project scheduling approach. The objectives of project scheduling approach are to focus on critical chain schedule and risk management. Several risks and reservations exist in projects. These critical reservations may not only foil the projects to be finished within time limit and budget, but also degrades the quality, and operational process. In the proposed approach, the potential risks of project are critically analyzed. To overcome these potential risks, fuzzy failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) is introduced. In addition, several affects of each risk against each activity are evaluated. We use Monte Carlo simulation that helps to calculate the total time of project. Our approach helps to control risk mitigation that is determined using event tree analysis and fault tree analysis. We also implement distribute critical chain schedule for reliable scheduling that makes the project to be implemented within defined plan and schedule. Finally, adaptive procedure with density (APD) is deployed to get reasonable feeding buffer time and project buffer time
Social Network Marketing and F-Commerce
The invention of the internet was a milestone of marketing. At the first decade of 21st century, it influenced marketing significantly and the world started discussing new terms in the field such as social network marketing. This study cillustrates how companies commercialize the social networks and launch the new era of marketing. Rather than paid media, advertising on social media platforms allows to spread the message from user to user as a trusted, third-party source. This word of mouth marketing fosters brand awareness and allows companies to interact with consumers directly. Furthermore, this personal interaction lets brands reach their target effectively
Developing a model curriculum for ethical practice building at Chiropractic Colleges: Part 1: qualitative analysis of opinions from an International Workshop
The article reports on topics discussed at a workshop which was held at the 2011 Association of Chiropractic Colleges Research Agenda Conference to investigate unethical behavior by chiropractors and to discuss the development of a curriculum for ethical practice building in chiropractic colleges. Opinions which were voiced by workshop attendees regarding the internal and external forces which lead to unethical behavior and its prevention are discussed.http://search.ebscohost.com.libproxy.bridgeport.edu/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&AN=78133213&site=eds-livehttp://www.chiropractic.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/jcca-v56-2-087.pdf?45288

A New Analytical Performance Model for a Microstrip Printed Antenna
© ASEE 2012Curvature has a great effect on fringing field of a microstrip antenna and consequently fringing field affects effective dielectric constant and then all antenna parameters. A new mathematical model for input impedance, return loss, voltage standing wave ratio and electric and magnetic fields is introduced in this paper. These parameters are given for TM10 mode and TM01 mode Epsilam-10 ceramic-filled Teflon substrate material
Simulation of a Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Process in COMSOL
The purpose of this project is to model the transport phenomena (heat transfer, fluid flow, and current flow) in a gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process using COMSOL Multiphysics. The model development will start with developing two separate models - an arc model and a weld pool model and end with an integrated arc - weld pool model to simulate the interaction between the arc and the weld pool. The integrated arc-weld pool model will be used to study the effects of some welding process parameters, such as the anode materials, the arc length, and the shielding gas, on the final weld quality
