    Wireless telecommunications has been significantly growing due to the need of high data rate during the last decade. In this paper, OFDM with different scenarios are experimentally tested and the results demonstrate the strengths of OFDM technique as a key technology that fulfills the need of high data rate and high performance in wireless communication. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the complexity of OFDM technology can be reduced and the capacity is increased by using Partial Transmit Sequences (PTS) method. This method shows the best performance of OFDM where increased capacity, coverage, and reliability are clearly evident from the test results presented in this paper

    A Highly Secure Quantum Communication Scheme for Blind Signature using Qubits and Qutrits

    © ASEE 2014The advances in hardware speed has being rapidly increased rapidly in the recent years, which will lead to the ability to decrypt well known decryption algorithms in short time. This motivated many researchers to investigate better techniques to prevent disclosing and eavesdropping of communicated data. Quantum Cryptography is a promising solution, since it relies on the prosperities of quantum physics that ensure no change in the quantum state without the knowledge of the sender/receiver. Quantum Communication Scheme for Blind Signature with Two-Particle Entangled Quantum-Trits was proposed by Jinjing et al. [1] That scheme uses qutits during the communications and the process of the encryption is not clearly defined. In this paper we suggest a modification of Jinjing et al. protocol using qubits and qutrits during the encryption and decryption which proposed by Zhou et al. [2] The proposed algorithms enhances the efficiency of that scheme and creates a quantum cryptosystem environment to exchange the data in a secure way. During the communications, all the messages are encrypted using the the private key of the sender and a third party verifies the authenticity and the blindness of the signature

    Glitches in Digital to Analog Converters

    Digital-to-analog converters (DACs) are widely used for signal processing and other applications. A popular Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) topology is the R-2R ladder. It is a simple topology which consists of only two resistors and a switch per bit, and typically one OPAMP buffer at the output. However, such a topology is vulnerable to glitches (voltage spikes) that may occur when several bits in the digital input change at the same time. Although a DAC is often followed by a Reconstruction Filter (RCF), this filter may need to be of a high order to attenuate the voltage spikes sufficiently. Such a filter increases the size of the die in an integrated circuit (IC), or requires more spaces, components and increases cost for a printed circuit board implementation. In some applications, such as an analog control signal to a valve, the filter may not even be necessary, but it is probably desirable to not have glithces. In this work some alternative topologies that eliminate glitches are considered, primarily DACs based on R-2R ladders that accept Gray code input

    UBSwarm: Design of a Software Environment to Deploy Multiple Decentralized Robots

    This article presents a high-level configuration and task assignment software package that distributes algorithms on a swarm of robots. The software allows the robots to operate in a swarm fashion. When the swarm robotic system adopts a decentralized approach, the desired collective behaviors emerge from local decisions made by the robots themselves according to their environment. Using its GUI, the proposed system expects the operator to select between several available robot agents and assign the swarm of robots a particular task from a set of available tasks

    RISCBOT: Mobile Robots Exploration and Mapping In 2D

    The objectives of the robots are to explore the whole environment as a group, while maintaining communication with the base computer throughout the entire exploration. Our method was implemented using a mobile robot equipped with a sonar range finder, a communication unit, and a software module. The robot performs collision free navigation, dynamic object detection, data collection, and communication with a base computer. This work demonstrates that multiple robots can improve overall mapping performance of an unknown environment

    EM-SEP: An Efficient Modified Stable Election Protocol

    Recently wireless sensor networks (WSN) became an interesting topic because of its increasing usage in many fields; medical systems, environment monitoring, military applications and video surveillance. Usually sensors are placed in the desired locations to gather information frequently and then transfer it to the observers. WSN consists of a collection of application specific sensors, a wireless transceiver and a simple general purpose processor. In heterogeneous wireless sensor network, researchers found many challenging issues including the limited energy, the efficient usage of the energy, and the problem with the hierarchy of the network as imbalance network. Many studies indicated that the node clustering is a promising solution for such issues. Clustering has been shown to increase the efficacy of the energy consumption where clusters are formed dynamically with neighboring sensors and the power is assumed to be distributed equally among nodes. One of the nodes is considered as the cluster head that is responsible for transferring data among the neighboring sensors. In this work, we propose a modification based on SEP protocol. EM-SEP aims to prolong the stable period of the sensor network by maintaining balanced energy consumption. This means that we choose the advanced nodes to become cluster heads more often than the normal nodes as the case with SEP protocol. Furthermore, EMSEP takes in account the number of nodes that are associated with each cluster head. Another important enhancement of EMSEP protocol that if there are more than one sensor available to be a cluster head at certain round, we choose the sensor with highest energy
