Polyfiberquant software tool for cell state prediction
According to WHO, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) were responsible for 68% of all deaths globally in 2012, up from 60% in 2000. The four main NCDs are cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes and chronic lung diseases. In most of the diseases, morphological and / or functional characteristics of cell facilitate researchers and clinicians to determine the cell state (i.e. diseased or healthy, disease state, etc). In recent years, high-resolution imaging approaches (ex. confocal microscopy) are used to study and understand the morphological characteristics of the cell. In addition, there are few computational tools developed to process these high-resolution imaging images to identify the cell state. Polyfiberquant is one of the unique software tool for cell state prediction. But the sensitivity and specificity of the tool is primarily dependent on the parameters used in the prediction. Therefore, the primary goal of this study is to find the best parameters that can be used in Polyfiberquant tool that result in reliable cell state prediction using confocal microscopy images. Secondarily, the study will also determine the limitations of this tool
Multi-Layer Approach for the Detection of Selective Forwarding Attacks
Security breaches are a major threat in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). WSNs are increasingly used due to their broad range of important applications in both military and civilian domains. WSNs are prone to several types of security attacks. Sensor nodes have limited capacities and are often deployed in dangerous locations; therefore, they are vulnerable to different types of attacks, including wormhole, sinkhole, and selective forwarding attacks. Security attacks are classified as data traffic and routing attacks. These security attacks could affect the most significant applications of WSNs, namely, military surveillance, traffic monitoring, and healthcare. Therefore, there are different approaches to detecting security attacks on the network layer in WSNs. Reliability, energy efficiency, and scalability are strong constraints on sensor nodes that affect the security of WSNs. Because sensor nodes have limited capabilities in most of these areas, selective forwarding attacks cannot be easily detected in networks. In this paper, we propose an approach to selective forwarding detection (SFD). The approach has three layers: MAC pool IDs, rule-based processing, and anomaly detection. It maintains the safety of data transmission between a source node and base station while detecting selective forwarding attacks. Furthermore, the approach is reliable, energy efficient, and scalable.https://doi.org/10.3390/s15112933
Tracking a Line for Automatic Piloting System of Drone
Nowadays, the FAA is discussing about open the low area for registered flight, so the Drone for Amazon will be the possible. In addition, Amazon is developing its own drone for future delivery method. In this project, we implement automatic piloting system for AR. Drone by tracking a line with on-board camera. This project uses AR. Drone for our implementation of the line tracker because there exist several available SDKs based on Wi-Fi network and two HD quality cameras. For the SDK, YA. Drone from University in Hamburg, Germany is employed and it is combined with Image Processing Technology in order for a drone to track the line. The preliminary results show that a drone can successfully track various types of lines behind a drone, such as straight, 90 degree, crank, circle and arbitrary lines. Using the automatic piloting system in this project, a drone can send something from one room to other room, and eventually deliver an item outdoor

Graphene Based Nanocomposite Electrodes for Energy Storage in Supercapacitors
There is an unmet need to develop high performance energy storage systems (ESS), capable of storing energy from both renewable and non-renewable sources to meet the current energy crisis and depletion of non-renewable sources. Amongst many available ESS, supercapacitors (ECs) are the most promising because they exhibit a high charge/discharge rate and power density, along with a long cycle life. A novel use of atomically thin carbon allotropes like graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and electrically conducting polymers (ECPs) such as polypyrrole (PPy) have been studied as high performance conducting electrodes in supercapacitor application. A novel templated sustainable nanocomposite electrode has been fabricated using cellulose extracted from Cladophora c. aegagropila algae as a component of the assembled supercapacitor device which later has been transitioned to a unique template-less freestanding nanocomposite supercapacitor electrode[1]. The specific capacitance of polypyrrole-graphene-cellulose nanocomposite as calculated from the cyclic voltammetry curve is 91.5 F g-1 at the scan rate 50 m Vs-1 in the presence of 1M NaCl electrolyte. The open circuit voltage of the device with polypyrrole -graphene-cellulose electrode was found to be around 225 m V and that of the polypyrrole -cellulose device is only 53 m V without the presence of graphene in the nanocomposite electrode. Understanding the fundamentals by fabricating template nanocomposite electrode led to developing a unique nanocomposite template-less freestanding film which comprises of polypyrrole-graphene-CNT hybrid[2]. Various experiments have been performed using different electrolytes such ascorbic acid, sodium sulfate and sulfuric acid in different scan rates. The specific capacitance of polypyrrole-graphene-CNT nanocomposite with 0.1 wt% of graphene-CNT, as calculated from cyclic voltammetry curve is 450 F g-1 at the scan rate 5 m V s-1. For the first time a nanofibrous membrane has been developed as a separator which acts as an electrolyte reservoir and ionic diffusion membrane. The performance of the fabricated supercapacitor device has been analyzed using a multimeter and compared with a conventional alkaline (1.5 V) battery. Lighting up of 2.2 V light emitting diode has been demonstrated using the fabricated supercapacitor
Improvement of Porsche Cayenne Aerodynamics using Reverse Engineering, CAE and Rapid Prototyping
The external vehicle aerodynamics have a strong impact on the vehicle’s fuel efficiency and handling behavior. External aerodynamic simulations using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have been used in the automotive industry to develop modern cars. This project aims to study the external aerodynamics of a Porshe Cayene model. The car model is scanned by a 3D laser scanner and the scanned data is used to reconstruct the 3D CAD model by reverse engineering for CFD simulation. The CFD simulation results will be used to develop a new car model shape to improve the aerodynamic performance. The new car model will be prototyped by a 3D printer
Thermoreceptors: The Gateway for Human Feelings
This study investigates the correlation between different temperatures and one’s mood. The ultimate purpose of the study is to determine which temperature cold or warm is better for projecting a positive mood on humans. A major part of this study is to examine the affect that the human thermoreceptors play in determining ones mood. The behavioral mood is measured by using both warm and cold cup of coffees which was held by the participant (each in its own respective time).
The warm cup of coffee has a temperature of 45 degree Celsius and the Cold cup of coffee has a temperature of 10 degree Celsius. Participants showed different mood behaviors when holding the warm and cold cup of coffees, this was influenced by a picture which was given to them (the picture being of a random person). While holding a warm or cold cup of coffee participants had to state their views of the person being portrayed in the picture. Their response was then gathered and stored as data. The statistical data suggest when holding a warm cup of coffee the participants had a positive reaction to the person being portrayed in the picture, but when holding the cold cup of coffee they had a negative reaction towards the picture. This study validates that the human-feeling relates to the Physical nature of substances that is reflection of thermoreceptors

Design and Implementation of Self Learning Autonomous Robot using Neural Networks under ROS (Robot Operating System) Platform
In this poster, we are designed and implemented an avoidance obstacle robot by using ROS (Robot operating system) as main platform. Neural Network algorithm has been used to program the robot. The algorithm has been written in Python programming language. In the hardware part, Arduino Uno Board with Ultra sonic sensor have been used to to detect the obstacles. Our contribution will be how to make the Robot detects the obstacle using neural network by learning himself from the environment and save that data which is getting by the ultra-sonic sensor to the base station so when it comes back to the same environment, the robot will not need to do the same procedure because the data already saved to the Base Station. All the related variables like Velocity, Acceleration and distance, etc. will get from ROS platform. The ROS will minimize the coding and gives us relative results. The communication between the robot and the base station will be wireless

This study looks at the research being done to understand anorexia nervosa, the pathomechanism and treatment modalities available. Basic procedures: The database used for searching was OneSearch on the University of Bridgeport’s library website available to faculty and students. Papers were chosen that focused on treatment of anorexia nervosa. Papers were given preference in the past 20 years but there were some that were used prior to that because they added value to the paper. Main findings: Anorexia nervosa is a disease that is not well understood in terms of pathomechanism and therefore is difficult to treat. There has been conflicting evidence for treatment modalities as well as insufficient research of treatments. Principle conclusions: Anorexia nervosa is a disease which should not be taken lightly. It is important to refer to a practitioner with adequate clinical experience treating those with anorexia nervosa. There is evidence for naturopathic modalities to be useful in treatment and clinic settings as adjunctive treatment but more research needs to be done
