Indonesia Tourism Recovery in Collaboration with China as a Powerful Country in Travel
Purpose: The 2019 novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak is projected to have unprecedented effects on the global tourism especially to the hospitality industry. This paper aims to examine how the outbreak may alter Chinese tourists’ travel behavior, lifestyle changes and tourism preferences in the short and long term.
Research methods: This paper employs qualitative research method to understand the most aspect influence towards Indonesia and China partnership in the tourism post-pandemic. It is based on the synthesis of news broadcasted by several media outlets to be supported by an overview of the related literature on online travel, tourism marketing, tourism management and tourist behavior.
Findings: China have that hidden potential in the tourism sector awaiting to be awaken. Data shows that only about one-tenth of China's 1.4 billion people hold passports, a relatively small figure. It is reported that Chinese travelers spent more than 120 billion U.S. dollars overseas last year, surpassing other countries.
Implication: China should be the focus for Indonesia’s tourism rebound post Covid-19. The massive volume and projected spending of travelers could support the economy of Indonesia both in short and long period of time
Strategic Recovery Plan: The Resilience of Wyndham Garden Kuta Beach Bali after Major Impacts of Covid-19 Pandemic
Purpose: This research aims to determine the impacts of the Covid-19 outbreak on the hotel industry in Bali, specifically at Wyndham Garden Kuta Beach Bali. It is to analyze the efforts to overcome with a Strategic Recovery Plan.
Research methods: This research is an exploration research with participatory observation used to collect all of the research data. The researcher uses Business Continuity (BC) dan Disaster Recovery (DR) method as reference to understand the map of pandemic effect, determine operational variable and develop Strategic Recovery plan.
Findings: The hotel management have formulated six phases of Strategic Recovery Plan consisting of Market Research and Business Strategy, The Top Priorities, Strategic Findings, Set Milestone, Market Segment Projection, and Work Plan.
Implication: Those six phases are created to focus business operation on necessary and realistic action that can be implemented during challenging market condition effected by the long run Covid-19 pandemic
Old Meets New: The Former Kemajoran Airport
Purpose: This research tries to preserve cultural building heritage by reusing old buildings as The National Gallery of Indonesia’s Satellites (Galeri Nasional Indonesia Satelit) to provide design recommendations that can combine old and contemporary aspects.
Research methods: This research is divided into three stages: data exploration and observation of the existing building; activities of reviewing data and making 3D models of existing building; and analysis using the theory of “The 10 Trends of Museum” to create a new attraction for a gallery.
Findings: The former Kemajoran Airport has several potentials which are maintained as the identity and uniqueness of the building. The implementation of the theory can find out where the best location to display artwork according to its type and how to display it. The initial stage in utilizing old building is understanding the history, existing conditions, and potential of the building.
Implication: The latest trends can attract the wider community to visit exhibition in gallery, especially the current generation. It can be used as one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia
Digital Marketing Application for Balinese Culinary Tourism in Denpasar City
Abstract : Purpose: This research is to analyze the application of digital marketing of Balinese culinary tourism in Denpasar City, Indonesia, based on Geographic Information System.
Research methods: The data collection is collected by examining and/or exploring several journals, books, and documents as well as sources of data and or other information deemed relevant to the research.
Findings: The outcome of this research is a digital marketing system design of Balinese culinary tourism in Denpasar City based on the Geographic Information System. The design is to improve the marketing of Balinese culinary tourism in the city.
Implications: The digital marketing model can make the users (tourists/excursionists) easier to search in mapping the location of restaurants or culinary tourism in Denpasar City quickly and precisely and can be accessed by anyone, anytime, and anywhere
Pemanfaatan Media Sosial untuk Memaksimalkan Pemasaran Usaha Rias dan Sewa Busana SM Studio Bali
Kondisi pandemi COVID-19 memberikan dampak yang cukup signifikan pada mitra yaitu menurunnya omzet dalam kurun waktu 5 bulan terakhir. Jasa rias adalah salah satu jasa yang mengharuskan antara pemberi jasa dan penikmat jasa saling bersentuhan. Hal ini cukup menyulitkan mitra untuk berstrategi agar tetap mendapatkan pelanggan baik jasa rias maupun penyewaan busananya. Selain itu, kemampuan mitra untuk memanfaatkan teknologi informasi sebagai salah satu sarana marketing dirasa belumlah maksimal. Mitra juga memiliki kendala dalam pembuatan konten yang menarik untuk sosial media marketing dikarenakan keterbatasan gadget dan skill yang kurang mumpuni. Untuk itu solusi yang dapat diberikan untuk mitra antara lain, pengembagan konten-konten digital untuk mendukung akun sosial media mitra. Tidak lupa mitra juga menerapkan model protokol kesehatan new normal dalam pemberian jasa bagi konsumen. Pelaksanaan PKM dimulai dari analisis kebutuhan mitra hingga evaluasi dan pelaporan. Analisis kebutuhan dilakukan terhadap manajemen pemasaran, manajemen tugas, manajemen produk dan pelayanan jasa sehingga dapat dirumuskan pada program ini kegiatan yang berbasis pemanfataan teknologi dan penerapan standar protokol Kesehatan. Dalam hal pemanfaatan teknologi memfokuskan pada pemanfaatan akun media sosial guna kesinambungan bisnis mitra.
Tujuan: Pelaksanaan PKM bertujuan agar mitra dalam hal ini SM Studio Bali mendapat solusi atas permasalahannya. Diantaranya solusi untuk manajemen order, permasalahan konten pada media sosial.
Metode Penelitian: Tim pelaksana PKM menganalisis terlebih dahulu permasalahan mitra kemudian mencari kan solusi serta melaksanakan penerapan solusi tersebut.
Temuan: Kurangnya manajemen yang baik dalam bidang operasional dan marketing, hal tersebut karena owner bekerja sendirian (one man show).
Implikasi: Mitra merasa pelaksanaan PKM sangat kontributif bagi keberlangsungan bisnisnya
Legal Perspective of Law No. 28 of 2014: About The Moral Aspects on Digital Works
The current utilization of digital content platforms has a serious impact on Intellectual Property Rights. Platforms that display digital copyright works are indeed much in demand by netizens today because it is practical and efficient but not only the perceived benefits of digital content platforms but there is a moral responsibility that must be known by all parties both content lovers and content creators. In today's digital era, copyrighted works in the form of digital content are widely misused by various parties, the occurrence of violations of their main rights moral rights is less realized by various parties. It is the duty of all parties to create the protection of moral rights because rights are elements that must be protected in a digital copyright work. This research aims to find out the regulation of aspects of moral rights in Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright. This research uses normative juridical research methods using the legal sources of literature. The protection of moral rights is an important issue in the protection of intellectual property. National regulations are expected to protect the moral rights of copyright creators/owners, especially digital copyright works
Strategies to Apply Leadership Styles and Workloads to Hotel Employee’s Morale
Purpose: This research aims to determine the effect of leadership style and workload partially or simultaneously on employee’s morale at 4 star hotel in Kuta tourist area, southern part of Bali, Indonesia.
Research methods: The samples used were 34 respondents using proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The data collection methods are questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability in advance and the analysis technique used is the Classic Assumption Test, T test, F test, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Coefficient of Determination Analysis.
Findings: The leadership style and workload variables have a significant positive partial effect on employee morale and the leadership style and workload variables have a significant positive effect simultaneously on employee morale.
Implication: The influence of the leadership style is quite large in increasing hotel employee morale
A Boutique Hotel’s Journey into Turning ‘Green’: A Case Study of Atanaya Hotel Bali
Abstract: Purpose: This article is a case study which aimed to briefly evaluate the journey of Atanaya hotel towards green predicate; how they operate on a daily basis to emulate green lifestyle and to minimize their unfavorable business impacts on natural environment.
Research methods: This study was performed in a qualitative approach, in which the data collection was summarized through a case study in the form of on-the-spot field research and questionnaires, followed by interviews with the General Manager as well as the Owner of Atanaya Hotel Bali.
Findings: Common rooms are airy and surrounded by plantations, while guest rooms have also already been supplied with eco-friendly appliances. The hotel has carried out this type of management since 2018. Overall, considerable efforts have been put by Atanaya Hotel Bali into adapting environmentally-friendly concepts, although the hotel itself has not publicly announced its green hotel policy.
Implication: Atanaya Hotel Bali successfully followed the protocol towards being accredited as a sustainable, ecological hotel while maintaining their rates at competitive level
Water Empowerment and Conservation for Sustainable Ecotourism (The Case of Bali Jungle Camping)
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of water empowerment activities carried out by Bali Jungle Camping in Tabanan Regency, Indonesia, in order to establish sustainable ecotourism.
Research methods: The study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques of observation and documentation.
Findings: Bali Jungle Camping has good natural potential to be developed into sustainable ecotourism. In its operation which lasted approximately 4 years, the development was carried out based on environmental sustainability and empowerment of the surrounding community.
Implications: Bali Jungle Camping has made several efforts in empowering water but still has several task points towards sustainable ecotouris
UNDERSTANDING WOOD FINISHING USING THE JAPANESE WOOD BURNING TECHNIQUE (SHOU SUGI BAN) IN ARCHITECTURE
Purpose : This study aims to give insights regarding Shou Sugi Ban to a degree that becomesknown to more people.Research methods : Applies a literature study method that works by analyzing the data collected.The source of the data is mostly taken from journals, research articles, books, and online websites.Findings : Shou Sugi Ban is a Japanese technique of finishing wood by charring the surface withfire. This technique is environmentally friendly because it naturally makes the wood impossible toabsorb moisture so that the wood can be protected from termites and mold. Generally, there are fivesteps to a perfect Shou Sugi Ban: (1) materials preparation, (2) burn process, (3) surface prep orsanding, (4) stain process, (5) finish process. In architecture, this wood finishing is appropriate forexterior and interior.Implications : The information provided is to be able to add insight and knowledge about one of thenatural finishing techniques that still looks beautiful but is environmentally friendly. So later, theadvantages of finishing Shou Sugi Ban can be more widely known and utilized in the development ofarchitecture
