Health And Child Development Risk Conditions: An Analysis Of High Risk Children In A Specialized Care Outpatient Clinic
Objective: To describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of children seen at a high-risk outpatient clinic, report the reasons for referral to the service, the outcomes, and elucidate the importance of specialized care for children at risk provided by public health in Brazil. Method: A descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional retrospective study that identified the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of children under 12 months of age who started care between January/2017 and December/2018 in a specialized outpatient clinic for high-risk children. Data were collected from electronic medical records and analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2013, while for statistical tests of association, calculation of the odds ratio and confidence interval (95%) the software RStudio (1.4.1103) was used. Results: Of the 246 children seen, 53.66% were male, 76.42% Caucasian, 33.62% premature, 54.73% had low/insufficient weight. At the first consultation 79.67% were less than six months old and 58.54% were eutrophic. The main reasons for referral were prematurity (26.89%), suspected congenital infection (15.53%) and nutritional/gastrointestinal disorders (14.77%). Syphilis stood out among congenital infections with 63.41%. As for the outcome, 62.28% were lost to follow-up, and the use of breast milk was a protective factor for this outcome (OR:0.49; CI:0.26-0.92; p=0.03). Conclusions: The reasons for referral to the high-risk outpatient clinic, evidenced in this study, point to the importance of preventing prematurity, controlling congenital infections, and actions to strengthen the practice of breastfeeding in children under 6 months of age, since it has proven to be a protective factor against loss to follow-up in specialized services
The importance of Human Capital’s Management to Obtaining Expected Results in terms of Academic Degree
This article has as goal to discuss the importance of Human Capital’s management before and after of teaching title in order to obtain positive results from the investments of Human Resources sector of the institutions of a private administrative nature and demonstrate how a professors’ continuing education plan contributes to the maintenance and/or amplification of expected results from the investments in degree title. From the reach of these goals, it will be answered the problem: What is the relationship between professors’ continuing education and the expected results by the Human Resources sector with academic degree? The hypothesis that guides this article are: there is a direct relationship between the professors’ continuing education plan and the results expected by HEI after teaching title; there is not a direct relationship between the professors’ continuing education plan and the results expected by HEI after teaching title. The data were analyzed in qualitatively in dialog with the theorization with the elaboration of inferences, deductions, and inductions. The results showed the importance of HEI having a plan of professors’ continuing education to be reaching the results in terms of degree title investments
Childhood mourning and lament - ways of treatment
Many children experience mourning and lament from death without having acquired the skills that are necessary to overcome these specific situations. Furthermore, they may not have any support on this matter with the danger to develop psychological issues in relation with grief and mourning. Therefore, it is very important for parents, teachers and therapists to recognize that there is high risk that can lead to complicated grief. Also, it is essential to take into account the child’s developmental stage and to communicate in open channel so children will be able to express their feelings and emotions. In any case it is very important to help them encounter the felling of loss and learn to live with it
Analyze of the impact of education spending on economic growth in Senegal from 1998 to 2017
The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of education spending on economic growth in Senegal from 1998 to 2017. This study was based on an econometric modeling that showed that spending on Education positively influences economic growth captured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In fact, the results of the regression revealed that the increase in public spending on education by 1% leads to a 3% increase in economic growth in Senegal for the period 1998-2017. Education spending has a positive impact on economic growth
Regionalization of the Q90 Steady Flows for the Japaratuba River Basin in the State of Sergipe according to its climatic regions
The reduction and resolution of conflicts involving the use of water, as well as the guarantee of compliance with its various uses, require the appropriate management of water resources, using the instruments foreseen in the pertinent legislation. Among the legal instruments used for the distribution of water, among the different uses and users, the granting of right of use stands out, which is provided as a function of demand and water availability in the requested water body. For the establishment of water availability in a river basin it is necessary to quantify the flows, which is done from the data collected in the fluviométricas stations. However, the Brazilian hydrometric network does not fully cover all hydrography, leaving parts of it without the necessary data for the estimation of flows. The regionalization of flows has been carried out with the objective of providing hydrological information in places with no data or with little information available, as long as they share similar characteristics. The hydrographic basin of the Japaratuba River, which is the object of the study, although it has the most complete hydrological monitoring network in the State of Sergipe, is characterized by great climatic variability (Tropical Humid, Agreste and Semi-Arid), resulting in a different hydrological behavior throughout this basin. Thus, the objective of this work is to determine the regionalization equations of the Q90 residence flow for this basin, which best fit its climatic hydro behavior, in order to obtain a small variation between the actual and the calculated regionalization flow. In the determination of the Q90 permanence flow, the Traditional Method of regionalization was applied, having as independent variables the drainage area of the fluviometric station and its accumulated mean precipitation. The results show that the regionalization of the permanence flow when considering the average monthly precipitation characteristics to define the homogeneous regions presented results consistent with the hydrological reality of the basin rivers and good statistical adjustments to the flows observed in the fluviometric stations
Construction of bioethical understanding through cinematographic work: perspective of teachers, students and health workers
The study aim at to analyze the bioethical understanding of teachers, students and health professionals through cinematographic work. A descriptive-interpretative study with a qualitative approach, carried out in an online environment, through an interview guided by a semi-structured script. Data analysis was based on Bardin\u27s referential. The process allowed the identification of two thematic categories: Building bioethical understanding through continuing education; Cinematographic work as a tool for bioethical analysis: perceptions and reflections. The results revealed that dilemmas with ethical implications were experienced by the participants, but with an incipient criticality. The methodological strategy of continuing education, using cinematographic work, allowed reflections and construction of knowledge about bioethics
Socioeconomic Context of Residents in Extractive Reserves of Machadinho D\u27Oeste-Rondônia-Brazil
This article aims to analyze the economic, social and environmental perspectives in the territory that comprises the city of Machadinho D\u27oeste in the State of Rondônia, considering the type of economy and its relationship with the issues of deforestation and social problems. The theoretical bases used in the reference are based on reflections on how the Amazon is seen, on how the economy of the State of Rondônia and the municipality of Machadinho D\u27oeste are composed. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the Secretary of Social Action of the Municipality. The analysis of the interview was carried out by the Discourse Analysis (AD) methodology of Dominique Maingueneau. The research findings confirmed what was proposed in the objectives, which indicated that there are no public policies that can meet the socioeconomic demands of residents in the reserves of Machadinho D\u27oeste in Rondônia. These findings only show that the Amazon is seen by many perspectives, of a more exploratory nature of its biome
Assessment of conflicts between mangroves and human occupation in Subaé river outfall between the years 1988 to 2017
Coastal zones fulfill important ecological, social and economic functions. Because soil flooded by tidal variations and due to great variation in salinity. Mangroves cover these regions. They are also a tropical coastal ecological system, always in the lowlands, at the mouths of rivers and estuaries. Despite their important environmental role, mangrove areas have been continuously decreasing worldwide, with an average reduction of 30% in the last 30 years. Thus, this research sought to determine land use and land cover change in low Subaé. With emphasis on Mangrove areas and urban occupation. We used supervised classifications of satellite images to evaluate the changes. We chose images from 1988, 2003, and 2017. And used images from the Landsat series (30m) and an image from the PlanetScope satellite (3m). We validated classifications through the Tau and Geographical Simultaneity concordance measures. We observed that performing the spatio-temporal analysis observing only the variation of areas may not represent the phenomena that occurred. The overall Tau index calculation for the ratings was 0.89. During the period 1988-2017 there was a significant reduction in Agricultural areas, corresponding to around 15% of the study area. Meanwhile, growth of pasture from 24km² to 48Km² and the Urban Zone, occurred over all classes, including mangroves
Thermal Comfort in Swine: Basic Concepts for Better Production
