Waste-to-energy technology for the brazilian context: a review article
Waste-to-Energy Technologies (WtE) have been widely used in European countries, in Japan, in some US cities, and have been growing in China. Currently, in Brazil, there are no WtE power plants in operation, but there are studies on the feasibility of this technology. The Systematic Bibliographic Review (SBR) presented in this mini-review article appears as a result of a process of prospecting documents in the following databases: Science Direct, Web of Science and Scopus. The purpose was to map the articles of the last five years on the applications of WtE technologies in Brazil. From the selection of articles relevant to the research, these documents were registered and cataloged, as well as their qualitative and quantitative analyses. During the systematization process, it was possible to raise hypotheses about which professionals have been working the most on this topic, the journals in which these researches are being published and the keywords most addressed for these case studies. In addition, it was possible to identify the characteristics of the publications related to the theme, the central axes of analysis of the studies and the primary techniques studied for the Brazilian reality. It was also considered part of the results of the present work, the systematization of the main definitions of WtE, the presentation of the main WtE technologies operations, and the exposition of the benefits and impacts of each of these technologies
Challenges in Primary Level Inclusive Education in Bangladesh
Bangladesh’s step towards inclusive education was given incentive by its involvement in major international declarations. Bangladesh agreed with the declaration of Education for All, in which education is to be provided to all children with an inclusive approach. In addition, Bangladesh is also committed to achieve Millennium Development Goals, which articulated the rights of all children into education through uniform system. It is important to note that the trend of enacting inclusive education policy and legislation in Bangladesh is mainly based upon the international treaties. The purpose of this paper is to highlight challenges in inclusive education for the policy formulators, implementers, and future researchers to take measures accordingly to universalize inclusive education in the country. The challenges identified in inclusive education concerned unfulfilled requirements of children with special needs, unfriendly situation, inadequate material and non-conforming curriculum, misinterpretation and mismanagement by stakeholders, restricted political and social backing, and adverse physiography. Pre-service training of teachers, along with continued assessment, collaboration and coordination to overcome challenges of inclusive schooling is recommended
Management of Labour Pain by using non-pharmacological Measures
Introduction: Pain during childbirth is a special experience of a woman that vary from one individual to another, that is caused by uterine contractions and cervical dilatation during labour. Nature and level of pain influence by various physiology, psychology and environmental factors. Thus, pain relief during childbirth is essential therefore, the delivery period will be uneventful.
Non-pharmacological pain relief measures: Controlling pain without harm to mother, non-pharmacological measures assure in reducing labour pain with less or even no harm to the mother and fetus. These measures include sensory stimulation measures eg. breathing technique, aromatherapy and music therapy that provides sensory input to the brain to promote relaxation, enhance positive thoughts and transmission of nociceptive stimuli of pain during labour and cutaneous stimulation measures include back massage, changing position, heat and cold application, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, hydrotherapy and acupressure that work as to stimulation of nerves by using skin manipulation in an attempt to reduce pain impulses to the brain.
Conclusion: The major aspects of midwifery care are supporting women during labour pain thus, they must understand the choices of the mother\u27s for manage with labour pain. However, non-pharmacological measures are helpful for decelerating pain and discomfort during labour which is easy to given and cost-effective.
Key Words: Breathing technique, aromatherapy and music therapy, back massage, changing position, application of heat and cold, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, acupressure and hydrotherapy
600 days of Battle: New Zealand (NZ) performance and practices that saved lives against Covid-19
According to Silva (2020b), among 108 well–evaluated countries, NZ was the eighth best nation during 180 days of battle against Covid-19, and one year after that publication, on 29th October, 2021, about 5,004,0026 lives were officially lost by Covid–19, while NZ only reported 28 deaths (WORLDOMETERS, 2021). To complement Gomes da Silva (2020) and Silva (2020a; 2020b; 2021a; 2021b) researches, the main aim of this article is to investigate the NZ performance and management practices used to save lives against Covid-19. It uses an online questionnaire with descriptive, bibliographic and documentary approaches to identify management practices, including cultural practices and Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) adopted during the pandemic. The main performance is found by using the Fatality Total Index and Resilience Index to compare NZ\u27s performance with 43 countries during 600 days of battle. As a result: 1) among the 44 countries, NZ was the most resilient and the second (FTI600=0.0165) best-best performer, after China (0.0066); 2) among 131 respondents living in NZ, 34.35% don´t believe that cultural practices are decisive for the low rate of Covid–19 death, while 65.65% believe in that. From those that believe, the most decisive cultural practices were wash hands, not hug in public, and not shake hands; 3) for 131 respondents, the ten main policy measures adopted by the National Government that saved lives against the virus are international travel control, public event cancellations, restriction on internal movement, public information campaigns, schools closures, support the expansion of testing system, wage subsidies for workers, workplace closures, increase the medical and personal equipment capacity, and effective public-private collaboration. At the final, lessons are provided from 360 policies, measures, programs, projects, acts/regulations, innovative products/services identified, with the majority led by the Public Sector (66.7%), followed by Corporations (11.4%), Universities (8.9%), Others (8.3%), and Startups (4.7%)
Banking Financial Performance Before and During the Covid 19 Pandemic in Indonesia: Analysis of Comparison Between Islamic and Conventional Banking
Banking is one of the financial institutions that is very influential on the economic conditions of a country. The level of banking liquidity is a reflection of the condition of the national economy. This study examines the differences in the financial performance of conventional banking and Islamic financial performance before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The variables used to measure banking financial performance are risk profile, earnings, and capital. The data used are financial reports published by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). The analysis used is the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The results of the analysis found that there was no difference in the financial performance of Islamic banking on risk profile, earning, and capital indicators before and during the COVID-19 pandemic; there is no difference in the conventional financial performance of earning indicators before and during the Covid 19 pandemic; and there is no difference in the financial performance of conventional banking earning indicators during covid 19 and Islamic banking financial performance indicators of earning before covid 19. This analysis shows that the performance of Islamic finance is still able to deal with the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic in Indonesia

Graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide: From preparation to verification of safety and therapeutic efficacy in Silico and in Vitro
To present a possible new alternative for wound treatment, this work evaluated the biological safety and therapeutic efficacy of graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanoparticles (NPs). First, the nanostructures were studied in silico and showed to be able to inhibit the production of some pro-inflammatory cytokines and stimulate the production of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10, especially rGO. The results of the morphological and structural characterization of GO NPs synthesized from the Hummers method and reduced by ascorbic acid, were consistent with the literature, confirming their achievement. In the broth microdilution assay, GO and rGO showed antimicrobial activity against the clinical isolate of Streptococcus agalactiae (S. agalactiae) at a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 625 µg/mL for GO and 312.5 µg/mL for rGO. In addition, the nanostructure of rGO was able to inhibit, in subinhibitory concentration, the formation of S. agalactiae biofilm by up to 77% when compared to the positive control. Both NPs, in all tested concentrations, did not cause hemolysis, and alterations in coagulation in vitro assays. However, in the safety tests, it was evidenced that only the MIC of 312, µg/mL for rGO was biologically safe and presented anti-inflammatory and healing behavior in vitro. In general, the present work confirmed rGO\u27s potential in the treatment of chronic wounds, since in silico showed anti-inflammatory behavior and in vitro showed therapeutic efficacy at low concentrations, prevented biofilm formation, and showed no significant toxic effects
Digital Games and the Exercise of Attention: Interventions in Small Groups in School
Digital games can be used to improve cognitive skills in schools, since they have rules, goals, challenges and propose actions that require the player’s attention, the use of problem-solving capacity, involving the planning of actions, keeping the goals and objectives in mind. Therefore, this article’s objective is to investigate indicators on the effects of the use of digital cognitive games in interventions carried out in small groups in the school context on the attention capacity. Therefore, a quasi-experimental study was conducted with 30 subjects, aged 7 to 11, which were divided into two groups, participant and control. Both were evaluated before and after the intervention through the application of a concentrated attention test. The results obtained indicated that the participant group had a significantly superior performance in relation to the quality of the attention because of less mistakes in the second application than the control group. The differences found in test variables that indicate the speed of discrimination of stimuli and attention more broadly were not significant
The Context of The Inclusion of Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in Early Childhood Education
The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a Neurodevelopment Disorder which involves a few deficits pertaining to social and communication skills, as well as repetitive and restrictive behaviors. Brazilian law nº 12.764 of 2012 guarantees and protects the rights of those with ASD. This study’s main objective is to describe the process of inclusion of children with ASD in public institutions of Early Childhood Education in the city of São Luís, Maranhão state, based on the perception of family members and the staff from said institutions. An exploratory descriptive research with a qualitative approach was conducted in two Early Childhood Education institutions with attending ASD children. Participants were 4 family members of children with ASD and 16 staff members who worked with the ASD children in the institutions. After receiving the consolidated opinion from the Ethics Committee (CEP/CONEP/UFMA, Nº 2.891.951), data were collected through semi structured interviews consisting of two scripts: one for family members, and the other for staff. Results showed that although the majority of children with ASD were well treated and accepted by staff and other children without disabilities, there are still many barriers to overcome in the context of Inclusive Education in Early Childhood Education. Among these barriers are those caused by stigmas related to the disorder in question, as well as the fear and/or rejection by parents and other family members of the interaction between their non-disabled children and those with ASD. Most people working with ASD children still feel unprepared. There is a lack of partnership between the studied institutions and the family members of children with ASD, which leads to another barrier to their inclusion in Early Childhood Education
