< Papers >A Study on the Use of “Ni Kakawaru” and “To Kakawaru”: Analyses using NINJAL-LWP for TWC
This research describes the differences of “Noun + Ni Kakawaru” and “Noun + To Kakawaru” using NINJAL-LWP for TWC. Among the top 50 nouns co-occurring most frequently with these expressions 90.0% of the nouns co-occurring with “Ni Kakawaru” represent objects and events while 82.0% of the nouns co-occurring with “To Kakawaru” represent people. Furthermore it was found that “Ni Kakawaru” is often used when the object of the action is an object or event and “To Kakawaru” is frequently used when both the subject of the action and the object of the action are humans. Besides regardless of ni-kaku or to-kaku the subject of “Kakawaru” is subject to certain restrictions due to the intentionality of the object.departmental bulletin pape
