Tirzapped: “My Brain is Colonized” – The Voice of a Person Using Tirzepatide

It uses aqualitative account of one’s experience to explain the nuances of medication counseling as a value-added therapy in obesitytherapeutics. Though it takes tirzepatide as an example, the discussion is equally relevant to semaglutide usage
Rare Adverse Effect of a Commonly Used Drug in Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hypertension can lead to each other. Majority of the patients with CKD have hypertension.Sympathetic overactivity has been suggested as one of the important etiologies of hypertension in CKD patients. Clonidine isused as a central sympatholytic to control hypertension in CKD patients. Drug-induced sialadenitis has been reported withmultiple drugs including antihypertensives. We report a case of clonidine-induced sialadenitis, which has been rarely seendespite the widespread use of this drug among CKD patients requiring multiple antihypertensive drugs
The Indian Sarcopenia Staging System
Sarcopenia is a common yet an underrecognized clinical entity that is associated with multiple health consequences includinghigh mortality. Though diagnostic criteria are published by different international working groups, there are no unifiedcriteria to assess severity of sarcopenia. In this brief manuscript, we propose a novel comprehensive sarcopenia stagingsystem. This assesses risk factors, clinical presentation, and complications of sarcopenia, so as to provide a comprehensiveoverview of sarcopenia severity. This staging system is easy to use. It can be used not only at diagnosis but also duringfollow-up to assess the treatment response. However, being a novel tool, this needs validation in diverse clinical settingsand across different populations
