Comparison of Software Defined Networking with Traditional Networking
The Internet has caused the advent of a digital society; wherein almost everything is connected and available from any place. Thus, regardless of their extensive adoption, traditional IP networks are yet complicated and arduous to operate. Therefore, there is difficulty in configuring the network in line with the predefined procedures and responding to the load modifications and faults through network reconfiguring. The current networks are likewise vertically incorporated to make matters far more complicated: the control and data planes are bundled collectively. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging concept which aims to change this situation by breaking vertical incorporation, promoting the logical centralization of the network control, separating the network control logic from the basic switches and routers, and enabling the network programming. The segregation of concerns identified between the policies concept of network, their implementation in hardware switching and data forwarding is essential to the flexibility required: SDN makes it less complicated and facilitates to make and introduce new concepts in networking through breaking the issue of the network control into tractable parts, simplifies the network management and facilitate the development of the network. In this paper, the SDN is reviewed; it introduces SDN, explaining its core concepts, how it varies from traditional networking, and its architecture principles. Furthermore, we presented the crucial advantages and challenges of SDN, focusing on scalability, security, flexibility, and performance. Finally, a brief conclusion of SDN is revised
Birds Sound Classification Based on Machine Learning Algorithms
The bird classifier is a system that is equipped with an area machine learning technology and uses a machine learning method to store and classify bird calls. Bird species can be known by recording only the sound of the bird, which will make it easier for the system to manage. The system also provides species classification resources to allow automated species detection from observations that can teach a machine how to recognize whether or classify the species. Non-undesirable noises are filtered out of and sorted into data sets, where each sound is run via a noise suppression filter and a separate classification procedure so that the most useful data set can be easily processed. Mel-frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) is used and tested through different algorithms, namely Naïve Bayes, J4.8 and Multilayer perceptron (MLP), to classify bird species. J4.8 has the highest accuracy (78.40%) and is the best. Accuracy and elapsed time are (39.4 seconds)
A Survey of Supervised Learning Models for Spiking Neural Network
There has been a significant attempt to derive supervised learning models for training Spiking Neural Networks (SNN), which is the third and most recent generation of Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Supervised SNN learning models are considered more biologically plausible and thus exploits better the computational efficiency of biological neurons and also, are less computationally expensive than second generation ANN. SNN models have also produced competitive performance in most tasks when compared to second generation ANNs. These advantages, coupled with the difficulty in adopting the well established learning models for second generation networks to train SNN due to the difference in information coding led to the recent introduction of supervised learning models for training SNN.
However, lack of comprehensive source of literature detailing strides made in this area, and the challenges and prospects of SNN serves as a hindrance to further exploration and application of SNN models. A comprehensive review of supervised learning methods in SNN is presented in this paper in which some widely used SNN neural models, learning models and their basic concepts, areas of applications, limitations, prospects and future research directions are discussed. The main contribution of this paper is that it presents and discusses trends in supervised learning in SNNwith the aim of providing a reference point for those desiring further knowledge and application of SNN methods
Topic Modeling and Sentiment Analysis of Electric Vehicles of Twitter Data
Twitter is a well-known social media tool for people to communicate their thoughts and feelings about products or services. In this project, I collect electric vehicles related user tweets from Twitter using Twitter API and analyze public perceptions and feelings regarding electric vehicles. After collecting the data, To begin with, as the first step, I built a pre-processed data model based on natural language processing (NLP) methods to select tweets. In the second step, I use topic modeling, word cloud, and EDA to examine several aspects of electric vehicles. By using Latent Dirichlet allocation, do Topic modeling to infer the various topics of electric vehicles. The topic modeling in this study was compared with LSA and LDA, and I found that LDA provides a better insight into topics, as well as better accuracy than LSA.In the third step, the “Valence Aware Dictionary (VADER)” and “sEntiment Reasoner (SONAR)” are used to analyze sentiment of electric vehicles, and its related tweets are either positive, negative, or neutral. In this project, I collected 45000 tweets from Twitter API, related hashtags, user location, and different topics of electric vehicles. Tesla is the top hashtag Twitter users tweeted while sharing tweets related to electric vehicles. Ekero Sweden is the most common location of users related to electric vehicles tweets. Tesla is the most common word in the tweets related to electric vehicles. Elon-musk is the common bi-gram found in the tweets related to electric vehicles. 47.1% of tweets are positive, 42.4% are neutral, and 10.5% are negative as per VADER Finally, I deploy this project work as a fully functional web app
Affordable ML Based Collaborative Approach for Baby Monitoring
There are numerous baby-monitoring devices available in the market that parents use to keep an eye on babies while they are away. The majority of them are reliant on the installation of expensive hardware, which many parents cannot afford. Another issue with these devices is that they detect high-pitched sounds and frequently give false alarms, causing both children and parents to be disturbed. The majority of smartphone applications in the market work on sound wave and only sound an alarm when the infant start crying. In this project, we proposed the design of a mobile application to detect the status of a baby inside a crib/ on a bed. The application will alert parents when their child requires assistance, will be able to determine whether the child is sleeping in a safe or hazardous position, and will keep track of the child\u27s sleeping patterns. It is less reliant on hardware, making it less expensive. Here the only requirement is two paired mobile phones with the application installed instead of expensive hardware (IoT-based devices). The application is utilizing the transfer-learning technique on tensor flow lite Mobilenet classification and SSD_mobilenet_V1_coco object detection models. The accuracy of the model is 97% for the Mobilenet classification model and 98% for the object detection model
Common Fallacies about Multivalued Circuits
For more than 60 years, many ternary or quaternary circuits have been proposed based on similar assumptions. We successively examine four of these assumptions and demonstrate that they are wrong. The fundamental reason for which m-valued combinational circuits are more complicated than the corresponding binary ones is explained. M-valued flash memories are used in USB devices because access times in not critical and a trade-off is possible between access time and chip area. If m-valued circuits are reduced to a very small niche in the binary world with semi-conductor technologies, there is a significant exception: quantum devices and computers are a true breakthrough as qbits are intrinsically multivalued. Successful m-valued circuits need m-valued devices as qbits
Deep Learning Detection of COVID-19, Temporal Variation and its Link with Temperature in Nigeria
COVID-19 was announced as a global pandemic on 11 March 2020 by the World Health Organization due to its spread globally. Nigeria recorded its first case on 27 February 2020. Since then, it has spread to all parts of the country. In this paper we study the effectiveness and skill performance of deep learning architectures in assisting health workers in detecting COVID-19 infected patient through X-ray images. Analytical deductions obtained from 500 X-ray images of both infected and non-infected patients confirmed that our proposed model InceptionV3 is effective in detecting COVID-19 and attain an average accuracy of 92%. The relationship or link between the COVID-19 daily occurrence and two meteorological variables (minimum and maximum temperatures) are further assessed. The result also indicated that the cases recorded in Wednesdays and Fridays are observed to be higher than other days which usually coincide with either religious activities or market days in the country, while a progressively decline in weekday cases is observed towards the weekend with Sundays (ranging from 152 to 280 cases) having the lowest cases. The study further indicated statistically that COVID-19 daily cases significantly decline when maximum and minimum temperature are increasing (-0.79 and -0.44 correlation coefficient)
