    Estimation and Study of Forest Loss and Gain Using Spatial Dataset across Districts of Uttarakhand

    Aims: To study and estimate the forest cover loss and gain across the 13 districts of Uttarakhand. Place and Duration of Study: Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, between September 2021 and December 2021. Methodology: We extracted forest cover time-series data from the year 2001 to the year 2020 from Hensen Global Forest Change Dataset. This data was then mapped to the shapefile created in ARC-GIS containing all 13 districts as a Feature Collection, which was then used to individually classify each region and to estimate the size of the loss of tree cover precisely over the district boundary. Results: Our study shows forest loss of about (21,05,71,646 square meters) and forest gain of (6,00,79,072 square meters) cumulatively in all the districts of Uttarakhand from the year 2001 to 2020 at a spatial resolution of 30 meters where trees were identified as canopies greater than 5 meters in height. Conclusion: Among the districts of Uttarakhand Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, and Champawat alone contribute to the total tree cover loss area of 15061.7513801 ha. which is about 71.5 % of Uttarakhand’s total tree cover loss. These regions require monitoring and controlling deforestation and more detailed studies like this are required to analyze and prevent the causes of such great-scale deforestation. Analyzing districts apart from those mentioned above, it is observed that the amount of tree cover loss is greater than the reforestation

    Docking Simulation Analysis of Natural Ingredients as Anti Virus SARS-Cov-2 on Helicase Inhibitors

    Aims: To find active compounds from natural ingredients that have the potential to be antivirals of SARS-CoV-2. Study Design: Simulation research. Place and Duration of Study: Physics Laboratory, Department of Physics Education, Universitas Kristen Indonesia, between December 2021 and August 2022. Methodology: The method used is a computational simulation commonly known as docking simulation or molecular docking. There are several steps taken, namely ligand and receptor preparation, docking simulation and analysis of simulation results. Results: The results obtained were from 22 ligand compounds of natural material selected as helicase receptor inhibitors, 14 ligand compounds were found that met the requirements according to Lipinski\u27s five rules, namely Emodin, Luteolin, Curcumin, Kaemferol, Quercetin, Myricetin, Scutellarein, 10-Gingerol, Shogaol, Mangostin, Piseatanol, Diallyl disulfide, Cyperotundone and Eugenol. Of the 14 ligand compounds simulated with helicase receptors, it turned out that 14 stable ligand compounds were used as helicase receptor inhibitors. However, among the 14 ligands, myricetin is the most stable ligand with the smallest Gibbs free energy value, which is -8.7 kcal/mol. Conclusion: An active ingredient compound has been found that has the potential as an antivirus sars-COV-2 in the Helicase receptor, Myricetin from clove plants (Syzygium aromaticum). These results can be used as a basis for drug development for the development of SARS-COV-2 antivirus in the future

    Efficient Elliptic Curve Arithmetic for Lightweight Cryptographic Schemes for IoT Applications

    The Internet of Things’ (IoT) market is expected to grow exponentially at the global level in the coming years, due to the proliferation of more reliable and faster networks resulting from the extensive rollout of 5 to 10 G mobile networks. By 2025, it is expected that worldwide projection of IoT connected devices will be pegged at 30.9 billion units. Despite the potential benefits of the new technology, security in IoT is a major threat. According to HP, 70% of IoT devices are vulnerable to sniffing attacks and reliable solution is yet to be found. The standard cryptographic algorithms such as RSA and AES provide good security but their utilization in IoT is questionably due to hardware and energy constraints for computationally expensive encryption schemes. However, elliptic curve- based cryptography, a recent paradigm in public key cryptography, achieves the same level of security with smaller key sizes. On the other hand, the total score of performance of an elliptic curve-based cryptosystem depends largely on the efficiency of the arithmetic operations performed in it. It is against this background that this paper proposes efficient elliptic curve arithmetic for implementing ECC based schemes suitable for IoT systems implementations. Elliptic curve point arithmetic implementations in projective coordinate systems over binary extension fields introduce higher efficiencies in software. In this regard, this paper has proposed an improved López-Dahab point arithmetic methods on non-supersingular elliptic curves over . The results show 69.20% improvement in Point Doubling, 44.68% in Point Addition and the scalar point multiplication execution time is decreased by 48.80%

    Study on the Prognostication of Crop Diseases using Artificial Intelligence

    It is universally accepted fact that crop diseases are one of the major threats in agriculture that ultimately result in drastic reduction of food supply. The present project study aims to use artificial intelligence in building a model which is integrated with a user-friendly web application. The web application is created using the Python-based Django framework. This user interface allows the user to choose a crop name and upload an image of a leaf wherein the trained model then begins the process of feature extraction on the image and tries to make an accurate prediction. The final result is displayed to the user confirming whether the crop may be “healthy” or the “diseased “and even the name of the disease that infects the plant will be displayed. The application also suggests a suitable treatment to combat the disease. Thus, the scope of this project study is very scalable as it can be easily be used by amateur gardeners as well as by farmers. The model itself can also be extended to include more plant types along with any new diseases which may arise due to factors like climate change, pest - resistance etc

    Usability Evaluation of an Unpopular Restaurant Recommender Web Application Zomato

    Usability evaluation clarifies the user’s comfortability, satisfaction, and experience with a product. The success of the product is solely dependent on the usability factor. Web applications are excellent channels to communicate between the customers and the suppliers, for satisfying users\u27 needs. Particularly usability evaluation of web applications plays an important role in observing the design, content, and navigation of a website. These observations help to improve the design of a web application. A proper design and content management of a web application acts as a gateway to attract more customers to use their application. Customer satisfaction would also help increase business for that particular company. The restaurant recommender web application acts as a medium for customers and restaurants. These applications help the food industry to attract customers. If the mode of communication is not effective, restaurants fail to promote their food business to the customers.  Previous research studies focused on business models, restaurant reviews, and offers provided by restaurant recommenders, instead of usability evaluation.  The goal of this research study is to test the efficiency and effectiveness of zomato.com through usability evaluation. The importance of this research study is to help both Zomato and other applications to increase their popularity. The methodology used was both think aloud and observations. The results were satisfactory and informative. The average time taken for website navigation tasks was 20.5 minutes. 100% satisfaction with restaurant reviews. 33% satisfaction for restaurant search and location information. 33% were not willing to re-use the Zomato website. These results convey that user satisfaction plays a major role in users returning to a website. This could be one reason for less web usage traffic in Zomato, hence leading to unpopularity. Recommendations and future research were also discussed

    The future of Bangladesh belongs to the younger generation. All of us have to do our bit to get them involved in improving the lives of the rural poor. If we do not do so, there will be serious social conflicts. Unless we can provide basic amenities so that the rural poor can live a meaningful life, we will never become a great nation. This is a great challenge for all youngsters and it is our work’s dream that they will take it up so as to make Bangladesh a better place to live and work. This work describes an organization named “Neuron Group” which contains four fields: Edu-Care (Neuron Educational Support Center), Medi-Care (Neuron Medical Support Center), Agri-Care (Neuron Agricultural Support Center) and Relief-Care (Neuron Relief Support Center). Students will have the opportunity to study with the most talented doctors and engineers of the country. The contribution of this work is to keep the students in their studies at pandemic time (covid-19 period) with the help of our website and social media such as Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Other contributions of this work are social awareness, to develop rural areas, create employment, help increase the income of poor people, raise awareness among poor people, bringing poor people into the mainstream of society, assistance in agriculture and financial assistance of poor and marginal farmers. In the district where the "Neuron Group will have a branch", a list of rational poor and destitute based on the wards of each Upazila of the district will be prepared and they will be given food aid from time to time

    Water is the most valuable means of life sustainability because it is a basic need of all households. The incessant water leakage levels in the water supply network on the mini campus, Federal Polytechnic Offa, is one of the most vital issues to address by the work unit on the School campus. Works unit provides services to all departments on campus, covering an area of the landmass of 1050 hectares with a population of staff and students of approximately 13 000. The work unit is in charge of correctional facilities and operation. The sub-service of the work unit on water supply system comprising a network of 1km of water pipes and 1500 litres capacity storage tower across units. The input system volume in the lose of water supply is approximately 56%, from which a significant proportion is about physical losses. This paper focused on intelligent-based leakage control to replace the traditional method used on campus parameters for backtesting tracing when physical damage becomes visible. However, the result of the study revolves around the design and implementation of a prototype system. The study created a management console as an intelligent decision support system. The realism of the study summarizes various operations by developing intelligent reporting software with data warehouse techniques to facilitate underground leak line pipes tracking

    Acquiring knowledge, either individually or in a team, is known as learning. The mode of learning may be either supervised or unsupervised. Language learning develops communication ability in a second foreign language, such as the Malay language... Malaysia is among the countries that students around the globe visit for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. But, the international students faced communication challenges with both the local students and the academic staff due to language variations. The local students lack confidence in English, while the international students don’t understand the Malay language. The communication The Gap was pointed out as the major problem for the international students to carry out their academic activities as most lecturers deliver their classes using Bahasa Melayu (Malay language). It is expected for the international students to learn the Malay language, but the local students are communicatively shy due to their lack of confidence in English. The present study investigates the Malay language learning difficulties of the international students at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. The researcher adopted quantative analysis with a structured questionnaire as the research tool. The experiment was carried out with the IBM SPSS version tool, and hardware components such as the Intel Celeron quad core processor (2M cache, 2.0GHz), 4GHz RAM, and 500GHz HDD. One hundred and seventy (170) with eighty-five (85) of equal size between the two universities were considered as the sample size. Findings reveal that most of the respondents disagreed that it was easy to learn Malay with the traditional system that presented a frequency of 41.8%. In addition, 43.5% of the respondents believed that learning Malay with the traditional system was time-consuming. Finally, respondents disagreed that traditional learning systems are easy to read. As such, most of the respondents suggest a mobile application as a substitute to the traditional mode of Malay language learning that will enhance learning anywhere at any time, regardless of the location

    Validation of Some Health Fitness Apps Using Users’ Reviews

    With the increase in the number of Health Fitness Applications (Apps) available for free, there is a growing concern as to whether these apps actually help individuals achieve personal fitness. This research developed a system to validate three Health Fitness Apps before user download using user reviews. Sentiment Analysis as the application of natural language processing, computational linguistics, and text analytics was used to identify and classify subjective opinions in the reviews of three most commonly used Health Fitness Applications; Samsung Health, Google Fit and Home Workout. Analysis showed that the Home Workout Fitness Application garnered a total of 99.9% Positive Reviews and can therefore be said to be the most effective of the three Apps considered, followed by Google Fit Fitness Application with a total of 37.4% Positive Reviews and Samsung Health Fitness Application recorded the most Negative Reviews of 96.6%
