    Pengaruh Reputasi, Etika dan Persepsi Keadilan Terhadap Kesenjangan Anggaran (Budgetary Slack)

    Budgeting carries behavioral problem that can have important effects on the effectiveness of organization. Behavioral problems arise when subordinates perceive that budgets are too difficult to accomplish so that subordinates often create slack in their budgets when superiors use budgets to evaluate performance. The research uses experimental design. This study tests the effect on budgetary slack of three potential control for opportunistic self-interest : reputation, ethics and perception of justice. In this setting, participants are divided to two groups based asymmetry and symmetry information. The result shows that budgetary slack is negatively associated with reputation, ethic and perception of justice. Budgetary slack is positively associated with asymmetry information. Reputation, ethics and perception of justice are positively associated with social norms for honesty and responsibility. The result suggests that reputation, ethic and perception of justice affect to create slack in budgeting and can be used as control to minimize budgetary slack

    In the beginning of the year, stock’s return has an abnormal return. Small capital stocks produce better return than the large capital stocks which listed in Bursa Efek Jakarta (BEJ). This anomaly is known as January Effect. That’s why, when turn over especially occurs in the beginning of trading market activity, many investor will invest their assets in small capital stocks. This research tries to found out whether there is or there isn’t January effect anomaly in Bursa Efek Jakarta in 2004 till 2007. This research uses non probability method which chooses 30 stocks in each category. The significance level of the research is always bigger than 0.05 and that result shows us that there is no January effect in Bursa Efek Jakarta (BEJ) from 2004 till 2007

    This research discusses the translation evaluation of the dialogues in a novel written by Brown (2003), The Da Vinci Code (DVC), by explaining pragmalinguistic failures and sociopragmatic failures found in DVC translation from English to Indonesian. This research is aimed at evaluating the correctness of the translation of the dialogues in DVC by using a pragmatic approach related to pragmalinguistic failures and sociopragmatic failures. This research is specifically aimed at seeking and explaining the forms of pragmalinguistic failures by using four criteria: (1) failures in translating phrases and clauses; (2) failures in translating conversational routines; (3) failures in translating exophoric deixis; and (4) failures in translating endophoric deixis. In addition, this research is also aimed at seeking and explaining the forms of sociopragmatic failures by using three criteria: (1) failures in translating addressee honorifics; (2) failures in translating hedges; and (3) failures in translating formal expressions. This research is based on error analysis method, which is modified into pragmatic failure analyses. The dialogues in the target text (TT) DVC are compared with those of the source text (ST) DVC in order to seek for the pragmalinguistic failures and sociopragmatic failures. After the comparison stage, forty data are selected as samples and are analyzed by using some pragmatic insights. In the final stage of the analysis, each data is given an alternative translation of the TT as an attempt to minimize the pragmatic failures. The results of this research show that the dialogues in TT have not fulfilled the criteria of accuracy, clarity, and naturalness; hence, they are considered as poorly translated. The data analysis and the conclusion of each data prove that pragmatic insights, such as illocutionary force, indirect speech acts, conversational routines, positive politeness, negative politeness, deixis, and hedges, can be used as tools to evaluate the correctness of a translation

The method of sampling is non probability sampling and the technique is judgmental sampling. The sample consisted of 300 respondent.     The purpose of the research is to integrate relevant literature theory and develop a comprehensive research model of service quality to procure customer satisfaction. In this research, we present a holistic systems approach that utilizes total quality management decision in a seamless fashion to improve satisfaction and perception related to the service provided by Universitas Bunda Mulia to the students, students parents, other universities movement students, and other students. At the same time, other university departments’ important objectives, such as the implementation of an ongoing in-house procedure that supports its continuous improvement program, are taken into account. In this research, results that document the improved service quality system performance to procure customer satisfaction are further tested for their reliability and validity. Therefore, the result will be the proper and true relationship between customer satisfaction and perceived service quality that could be used either for Universitas Bunda Mulia or other universities and education institutions. Conceptual and managerial implications of the findings should be further discussed by Universitas Bunda Mulia to procure and achieve a much better performance in the next coming years

    Kata kerja modalitas “Neng” dan “Hui” merupakan salah satu dari kata kerja modalitas yang ada. Kata kerja modalitas “Neng“ dan ‘Hui” jika diterjemahkan kedalam Bahasa Indonesia mempunyai arti yang sama, yaitu “bisa, dapat”. Sehingga ketika diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia, tidak terlihat perbedaan. Tetapi dalam Bahasa China, kedua kata tersebut mempunyai perbedaan dalam penggunaannya atau pemakaiannya di dalam sebuah kalimat, kedua kata tersebut mempunyai maksud yang berbeda. Oleh karena itu penulis tertarik melakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui sejauh mana tingkat penguasaan mahasiswa angkatan 2006-2009 jurusan Bahasa dan Budaya China Universitas Bunda Mulia terhadap kata “Neng” dan “Hui”.     Untuk mempersiapkan dirinya menjadi Psikolog yang profesional, seorang mahasiswa psikologi harus memiliki kompetensi dalam berbagai ranah, yang meliputi keterampilan, pengetahuan dan sikap sehubungan dengan profesinya tersebut. Kesabaran dalam menghadapi berbagai beban yang dialami, baik beban kerja maupun beban pribadi, merupakan salah satu hal yang harus dimiliki seorang yang bekerja di bidang psikologi, yang harus dipersiapkan oleh seorang mahasiswa psikologi tidak hanya untuk menghadapi masa depannya, tetapi juga untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupannya saat ini. Penelitian ini mencoba melihat hubungan antara variable yang diduga berhubungan dengan perilaku sabar, yaitu dukungan sosial dan stress akademik.\ud \ud Secara metodologis, penelitian ini merupakan studi populasi yang menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, yang meneliti 85 subjek yang terdaftar dalam urutan perkuliahan di Jurusan Psikologi Universitas Bunda Mulia, pada saat penelitian ini dilakukan. Sebagai kuesioner dipergunakan Social Support Questionnaire, Social Stress Inventory dari Holmes dan Rahe, serta Kuesioner dengan skala Likert yang mengukur stress akademik yang dirasakan mahasiswa dan perilaku sabar mahasiswa. Data penelitian yang diolah teknik korelasi ini menunjukan adanya hubungan antara dukungan social dan perilaku sabar. Namun tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara hubungan social dan stressor, antara stress akademik dan perilaku sabar, serta antara stressor akademik dan perilaku sabar. Sebagai rekomendasi, diharapkan dimensi-dimensi yang meliputi dukungan social instrumental, dukungan informasional dan dukungan penimbangan terhadap stress akademik berupa masalah individu dan beban keuangan, diperhatikan dalam proses pengembangan bimbingan dan couching mahasiswa\u

    The level of competition among universities in Indonesia is in a very competitive one. Each university tries to attract new student to choose which university to continue their educational program. This level of competition makes all universities in Indonesia promote themselves and try to develop program and facilities as well as possible. Bunda Mulia University (BMU) has taken a very smart strategy to anticipate this competition by providing E-learning (Electronic Learning) program or it is better known as BM-learning (Bunda Mulia learning). There are many components involved in this program. The most important components of e learning program are the system, lecturers, and students. To increase E- learning facilities, BMU need to put the lecturers and students satisfaction on the first priority. In this research, the writer tries to find out the level of satisfaction from lecturers and students who have been involved in E-learning program.     The development in the Indonesian capital market, both in depth and breadth along with the increased awareness among the shareholders, has increased the pressure on the companies to consistently perform better. One of the indicators of such performance is the Market Value Added (MVA). Literature is replete with studies, which have tried to capture the behavior of MVA. Stewart (1991) claims that EVA is the ultimate proxy of MVA. Following Stewart (1991), several studies examined the relationship between EVA and MVA using the Stern Stewart-1000 data. Most of these studies found evidence to support Stewart’ s claim. Despite the popularity of the concept, very few studies have been undertaken to empirically test the ability of EVA to reflect or proxy the MVA of Indonesian retail companies, which registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2002 - 2006. This study makes an attempt to fill the gap.\ud This study empirically examines the relationship between MVA and EVA of the Indonesian retail go public companies. Though the focus of the paper is the relationship between EVA and MVA, it also tries to understand the relationship between MVA and other common accounting numbers like NOPAT, TSR. The study indicates that there is no strong evidence to support Stern Stewart’ s claim that EVA is superior to the traditional performance measures in its association with MVA.\u
