Implementing Blockchain in Public Sectors in MENA Countries: Opportunities and Challenges
Governments all around the world are expanding their study and use of Blockchain technology Blockchains have the potential to improve many aspects of the public sector. This research discusses opportunities and challenges in using blockchain in the public sectors of MENA countries. Their public sectors may use it to safeguard sensitive documents and streamline interactions with residents and solve record-keeping challenges and improve the capabilities of the present public systems. Instability and corruption have weakened public and market trust in MENA countries. Moreover, public data in the region is housed in a disjointed bureau and division. The process of acquiring and transferring assets, whether physical goods or financial instruments, often entails multiple transactions and a long paper trail. We argued that as blockchain needs a minimal digital trace, integrity, and immutability, it is particularly fit for the public sectors in the MENA region. A blockchain would keep detailed records of the exchanged assets as well as every step of the transaction. All important information about each person or corporation would be maintained in a separate ledger inside an encrypted blockchain. However, the lack of expertise and experience among the government employees, and the lack of real use cases around the world are the main barriers to implementing blockchain technology in the public sector of MENA countries
Artificial Intelligence in Banking Industry: A Review on Fraud Detection, Credit Management, and Document Processing
AI is likely to alter the banking industry during the next several years. It is progressively being utilized by banks for analyzing and executing credit applications and examining vast volumes of data. This helps to avoid fraud and enables resource-heavy, repetitive procedures and client operations to be automated without any sacrifice in quality. This study reviews how the three most promising AI applications can make the banking sector robust and efficient. Specifically, we review AI fraud detection and prevention, AI credit management, and intelligent document processing. Since the majority of transactions have become digital, there is a great need for enhanced fraud detection algorithms and fraud prevention systems in banking. We argued that the conventional strategy for identifying bank fraud may be inadequate to combat complex fraudulent activity. Instead, artificial intelligence algorithms might be very useful. Credit management is time-consuming and expensive in terms of resources. Furthermore, because of the number of phases involved, these processes need a significant amount of work involving many laborious tasks. Banks can assess new clients for credit services, calculate loan amounts and pricing, and decrease the risk of fraud by using strong AA/ML models to assess these large and varied data sets in real-time. Documents perform critical functions in the financial system and have a substantial influence on day-to-day operations. Currently, a large percentage of this data is preserved in email messages, online forms, PDFs, scanned images, and other digital formats. Using such a massive dataset is a difficult undertaking for any bank. We discuss how the artificial intelligence techniques that automatically pull critical data from all documents received by the bank, regardless of format, and feed it to the bank\u27s existing portals/systems while maintaining consistency
A Comparison of The Effectiveness of Various Social Media Platforms in Promoting Restaurants
The primary focus of this research is on how social media impacts the Colombian restaurant industry. Social media, without a question, has a significant impact on today\u27s youth. Social media has a significant impact on a wide range of human activities. Using social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter has a significant influence on the behavior of many people. Despite this, little is known about the impact of social media on the restaurant industry. In addition to fashion, entertainment, and eating habits, there are several other things that may be affected by social media. Social media\u27s impact on Colombian eateries was examined in this research. Five eateries in Colombia\u27s capital city of Bogota were found through an internet search that included a glance at their social media pages. This study\u27s evidence was matched to the data from these social media accounts as part of a literature review. This document outlines the study\u27s recommendations and limitations. Social media may help restaurants in Colombia run more efficiently and generate more money if utilized appropriately, according to the study
Factors That Contribute To The Failure Of Ventilatory Weaning In Critical Patients: A Review
Mechanical ventilation aims to replace spontaneous breathing with artificial respiration, inflating the airways with volumes of air and generating pressure within the lungs. Weaning from ventilation should occur as early as possible. It can be performed slowly, gradually, using several techniques, among which the following stand out: the T-Tube technique, synchronized intermittent technique and pressure support technique. This study aims to verify, through literature review, the main factors that contribute to the failure of ventilator weaning in critically ill patients. For this purpose, a literature review of the last twenty years was carried out, except for classic literature relevant to the topic, researched on the sites: Medline , Scielo , Lilacs , Pubmed and Literatures of the IESRIVER faculty library, using the terms: “weaning mechanical ventilation” and “factors that predispose to weaning failure”. It can be shown through this study that factors such as age, fatigue, muscle atrophy, cardiac dysfunction, nutritional factors, advanced age, emotional factors and prolonged mechanical ventilation are factors that can lead to failure during an attempt at weaning. Most studies concluded that the T-tube technique is the most effective, since it is quite simplified and allows the patient to have periods of effort and rest, which improves muscle strengthening and guarantees successful weaning, but it is up to each team to decide the best method to be used, always giving priority to the patient
Advances in Technologies and Methods for Behavior, Emotion, and Health Monitoring in Pets
This research offers a detailed descriptions of existing technologies and approaches for monitoring pets in the areas of behavior, emotion, and health. The first section discusses behavior and emotion monitoring. It includes wearable devices like smart collars that are fitted with sensors for monitoring heart rate, activity levels, and temperature. These devices communicate with AI-based anomaly detection systems that send real-time alerts through various channels such as SMS, email, and mobile app notifications. Additionally, smart cameras and sound capturing devices are employed to analyze behavior and emotional states. The second section discusses health monitoring and assistance. Users can input data such as pet breed, age, and observed behaviors into dashboards. Subsequent AI algorithms analyze the data, providing health forecasts and preventive measures. Moreover, imaging technologies employ image acquisition, preprocessing, and feature extraction to detect abnormalities, the results of which are stored in databases and can trigger alerts to medical staff. The review identifies distinct modules for each sector, including data capture, processing, and alerting mechanisms. While each module specializes in specific tasks, common functionalities such as real-time alerting and data storage are pervasive across both sectors. The study asserts that current technological advancements have significantly enhanced the ability to monitor pets in real-time, providing actionable insights for pet owners and veterinary professionals
A Review of Connected and Automated Vehicle Traffic Flow Models for Next-Generation Intelligent Transportation Systems
Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) technology is a rapidly developing field that is expected to transform the transportation industry. This study provides an overview of traffic flow models for Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs). The study explores the different levels of automation in CAVs and discuss the strengths and limitations of three categories of traffic flow models: microscopic, mesoscopic, and macroscopic. The article highlights that while microscopic models provide a high level of detail and accuracy, they require significant data input and computational resources, making them difficult to scale up to large networks or regions. Mesoscopic models are more computationally efficient but still provide useful detail and can simulate traffic flow over a larger area than microscopic models. Macroscopic models, while most computationally efficient, may not capture the effects of specific traffic management strategies or provide the level of detail necessary to capture individual vehicle movements and driver behaviors. The study emphasizes the need to take into account other factors that can influence CAV traffic flow, such as human-driven vehicles, road infrastructure, and communication protocols. By providing insights into the strengths and weaknesses of each approach, this article aims to facilitate the development of next-generation Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) that effectively manage traffic flow and fully realize the potential of CAVs
Granger Causality between International Tourism and International Trade
International trade and tourism are both key industries that contribute significantly to the global economy. International trade can promote international tourism by increasing travel accessibility and affordability, helping to promote the availability of diverse tourism products and services, facilitating infrastructure development, creating job opportunities in the tourism sector, and facilitating intercultural communication and understanding between nations. International tourism can also stimulate international trade by generating foreign exchange earnings for the host country, encouraging the export of tourism-related products and services, creating job opportunities and supporting the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, and resulting in the import of goods and services required by the tourism industry. Using the Granger causality test, this study explores the causation between these variables in the context of the Russian economy from 1990 to 2017. According to the findings, there is bidirectional correlation between international tourism and international trade. The conclusions of this study indicate that both industries are inextricably intertwined and rely on one another to maintain the Russian economy\u27s growth and development
Should Firms Lower Product Price in Recession? A Review on Pricing Challenges for Firms in Economic Downturn
Recessions often result in the temptation of price cuts. For a firm to prosper despite a slow economy, a more holistic plan is required. Firms reduce their prices to increase sales volume. However, with an appropriate pricing strategy, a business may compete and even prosper during slow economic conditions. This study is an effort to shed light on pricing challenges for firms in recession. We posit that although buyers want to save money in a recession, price is generally a secondary consideration in the majority of buying decisions. When customers make buying decisions, other variables such as quality, service, variety, availability, ease, recognition, trust, and support typically take priority even in a recession. Purchasing inertia is high in the domain of recurring business-to-business transactions, and customers form long relationships with the items, suppliers, and processes they use to make repeat purchases. Switching costs are high, and unless there is a major service breakdown, it is uncommon for a customer to defect for a little price difference. Because cutting prices has large influence on profit, it is rare that low prices produce enough more demand to generate extra profits. Firms should avoid allowing a slow economy to diminish their value and should instead focus on non-price ways of assisting customers in difficult economic times. This study concludes that slashing prices in a recession is rarely a proven strategy to boost profits
Volume Discount Sensitivity Analysis for Optimal Pricing Strategies in B2B Firms
Volume discounts are particularly prone to misinterpretation in the B2B sector. This is because corporate clients are more inclined to purchase things in large quantities. This research argues that when considering a volume discount, the first line of examination should be volume discount sensitivity analysis. We define volume sensitivity as how much a product\u27s volume discount influences a customer\u27s desire or readiness to purchase. It indicates the relative relevance of volume discount to other product features or buying factors for purchasers. We discussed how techniques such as the Ladder method, Van Westendorp method, and Gabor-Granger approach can assist the firms in devising optimal volume discount strategies. This research also discusses the volume hurdle analysis in the context of volume discounting. If a firm anticipates meeting the volume hurdle, a volume discount may be necessary. If the volume hurdle exceeds the predicted change in sales, the volume discount cannot be supported, and the company should adopt other options
