    Changing Behaviour of Middle-Class Households towards Risk & Return Perception for Investment

    There has been an enormous amount of information collected over the past decade about financial markets and financial institutions. Middle class households’ investors are far less well understood. Investing motivations and risk perceptions of investors, as well as investor risk perceptions and attitudes, are examined here. It is also examined how income and investing pattern relate to risk and returns. Portfolio managers and investors are faced with the dilemma of balancing risk and return. Investors generally aren\u27t motivated to take risks for their own sake, according to the convention in finance and economics. Then it would seem feasible to expect that actual yields on individual investment may deviate according to their risks. There is consensus that there is a positive relationship between risk and expected return, even if the conclusions are not totally consistent concerning the shape of the risk-return function. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that risk-return preferences and motives of investors can be addressed by analyzing the investments. This empirical study has been designed to analyse the middle-class households risk preference over the last decade in the Kumaun division using structure schedule for 250 households. Researcher used linear regression, anova, coefficient, chi-square test and factor analysis model to explore the problem. It is found that people attitude towards have been changed in the last decade towards risk and return trade off and they are reshaping their motives of investment with the change in time

    Simulations of Rectifications which are Needed in Dynamic Wire and Hot Wire GTAW of 304HCU Tubes of Reheaters and Superheaters using ANSYS 2021

    The aim of this project is to simulate the rectification that are needed in hot wire and dynamic wire gas tungsten arc welding of reheater and superheater tubes made of 304hcu ss using a simulation software like ansys 2021. The given grade of stainless steel is of 300 series with chromium and nickel austenitic stainless steel are non hardenable by heat treating and corrosion resistant. 304 hcu ss has a better microbiologically influenced corrosion resistance. The gas tungsten arc welding (gtaw) process: also known as tig welding, it is an electric arc welding process in which the fusion energy is produced by an electric arc burning between the workpiece and the tungsten electrode. It differs from other arc welding processes by the fact that the electrode is not consumed like other electric arc welding process. To prevent hot cracking, welding with a heat input below 2 kj/mm, using an interpass temperature below 150 °c, is recommended. To avoid stress corrosion cracking, contact with certain solutions, particularly those containing chlorides should be avoided. Extra care needs to be taken during plant shutdowns as chloride containing condensates can be formed leading to stress corrosion cracking. However, cracking requires the presence of high stresses and is therefore more likely to occur in thicker sections, t- joints, like header-tube connections, or joints with dissimilar metal thickness, where the higher restraints can lead to higher residual stresses after welding than in thin-walled superheater/reheater tubing with butt welds

Despite the existence of infrastructural facilities, economic status and availability of various educational courses, the attitude towards higher education and learning is not found to be positive among the Indian expat students. The ultimate objective of this study is to find out the factors that influence the attitude of the students towards higher education and recommend sufficient measures to improve it

    In our World of today, the quest to get rich at all cost without working for our money has led some of our youth into crimes such as robbery and kidnapping. As a result of this and by the sheer fact that vehicles are now very expensive to buy these days, there is a need for people to safeguard their vehicles against these hoodlums to avoid loss of their precious Assets to these rampaging criminals. Tracking is technology that is used by many companies and individuals to track a vehicle, an individual or an asset by using many ways like GPS that operates using satellites and ground-based stations or by using our approach which depends on the cellular mobile towers. Vehicle tracking system is a system that can be used in monitoring and locating a vehicle, avoid theft or recover a stolen vehicle, for monitoring of vehicle routes to ensure strict compliance to an already defined vehicle routes, monitor driver’s behavior, predict bus arrival as well as for fleet management. Internet of things has made it very possible to devices to inter communicate amongst themselves and exchange information, helping in acquiring and analyzing information faster that we used to know in the past and this has helped more especially in vehicle monitoring to ensure that vehicle owners feel safe about their investments without fearing about their loss. In this paper, we propose a vehicle monitoring system based on IOT technology, using 4G/LTE to get the get the coordinate, speed, and overall condition of the vehicle, process and send to a remote server to be analyzed and used in locating the vehicle and monitor its other configured parameters. This is realized using Raspberry pi, 4G/LTE, GPS, Accelerometer and other sensors with communicate amongst themselves to get the environmental parameters which is processed and sent to a remote server where it is analyzed and represented on a map to locate the vehicle and monitor the other set parameters. 4G/LTE provides fast internet connectivity with overcomes the usual delay usually experienced in sending the acquired signals to be processed. The True Vehicle position is represented using google geolocation service and the actual position triangulated in real-time

The status of Indian economy was briefly explained and projected outlook for steel market after breakout of the pandemic. The effect of COVID on RINL was discussed in detail and various strategies adopted by the industry during the period were explained. Handling of such future eventualities were addressed. After the outbreak, the recovery and outlook were explained in detail. Interventions and initiatives sought from the Government were presented in this paper

    Factors Influencing Online Education during COVID-19 Pandemic: Sri Lankan Students’ Perspective

    This study examines the factors influencing online education for selected Sri Lankan universities during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also analyses the moderate effect of gender and type of the university on online education. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire via google form from Management students in Sri Lankan selected universities. Data analysis was done through structural equations using analysis of moment structures (AMOS) version 22.0. Attitude, internet and related facilities, curriculum, and self-motivation were found to have a significant positive impact on online education, while workload & time have no significant effect on online education. Among four factors, the strongest influence was derived from self-motivation followed by the curriculum. We have not found significant differences among male and female students’ views on online education, while the impact from the type of university is different among the two categories. This study effectively guides policy makers and university administrators across the educational institutes to decide on continuing online education. It reveals some insights to the teachers, students, and parents to understand the significance of the modern online learning environment and its positive impact on the new learning mode. There is no study related to the factors associated with the impact of online education during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Sri Lankan context

    Identification of Factors to Improve Public Transit Services (A Case Study of Prithvi Chowk to Talchowk Section of Prithivi Highway)

    This research presents studies on a segment of highway to determine the quantitative factors that inuence transit services. Travel time and delay study is one of the method to determine quantitative factors. Tour time is described as the average period of time required to journey from one region to some other. Total departure time consists of gadgets which include total working time, places and general delay time. The examine section was done in Prithvi chowk to Tal chowk of Prithvi Highway which is turned to be 12.5 km long. Additionally, it has been found that the principle variables affecting travel time are: postpone time because of forestall selecting and choosing up passengers, bus model and bus size.32 trips public transport carrier and a 10 trips non-public automobile journey have been held during peak hours. Models are developed the use of SPSS software to become aware of the relationship between the causes of delays and the overall-time delays. Travel time and learning delays can help reduce the number of private vehicles operating and increase the number of public vehicles in order to reduce congestion and improve the e efficiency of the public transport system.     Infrastructure is one of the favorite projects of every developed and developing nation. Construction industry occupies a prominent place in the infrastructure development of a country. Cement is one the elementary material components in the construction industry. Saudi Arabia has shown a weaker performance in generation of revenue over a period of five years from 2015 to 2019. In a situation of economic slowdown it becomes a challenge for the business concerns to maintain their profitability. The present study is designed to analyze and compare the profitability position of cement companies in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia during this period. The study belongs to top five cement companies in terms of market value and revenue generation in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To measure the profitability gross profit ratio, operating ratio, operating profit ratio, net profit ratio and return on investment have been used as variables. One way anova has been used to test the hypotheses. The study shows that these companies do not differ significantly from one another in terms of gross profit, operating profit and net profit but they differ significantly when return on investment is compared. Cement companies can increase their profitability by improving the components of those ratios that have been the cause of decline in profitability

    The Automation of Critical Path Method using Machine Learning: A Conceptual Study

    This research aims to shed light on the use of machine learning in improving, developing and automating the critical path method, solving its problems, studying this effect and its dimensions, and discussing that from many aspects. The research is divided into two theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is concerned with studying the critical path method and its advantages, problems and challenges, as well as studying machine learning and artificial intelligence and its dimensions, reviewing materials and sources related to this, and then presenting suggestions and future solutions based on this study. As for the practical section, it is a questionnaire that targeted a segment of engineers, in particular, and others who have sufficient experience in both the critical path method and machine learning, and seeking their opinions on both topics. The result of the theoretical research was 14 theories or proposals that were presented based on the foregoing study. As for the practical questionnaire, a sample of 127 was taken. Through statistical analysis, the results were analyzed and discussed separately, and then a conclusion was drawn regarding them
