Assessment of the Static Stability Margin and Voltage Profile Improvement in the SOUTH-SNEL PowerNetwork using a SVC under MATLAB / PSAT Environment
No full textThe huge increase in the demand of electric power and the economic constraints to build new facilities, lead the power systems to operate near of their stability limits. Indeed, instability has become a major problem in the management of power systems. Unavoidable disturbances such as short circuits, momentary unavailability of transmission lines, generators as well as transformers can affect the stability of the power system at any time and bring it into a state of instability or collapse. These collapses become a major problem for energy consumers, because the lack of energy leads them to use backup energy sources that are relatively expensive and polluting. This situation lowers the productivity of the industry, and for the national electric company of the Congo, (SNEL), the time to get rid of the magnetization of the network and to take all the loads, can generate penalties, which is a loss of revenue for the company. This paper aims to assess the stability margin and to improve the quality of electrical energy in the south-SNEL transmission system
Awareness of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) among Student of the Catanduanes State University
Get PDFThe Island Province of Catanduanes is prone to all types of natural hazards that includes torrential and heavy rains, strong winds and surge, flooding and landslide or slope failures as a result of its geographical location and topography. RA 10121 mandates local DRRM bodies to “encourage community, specifically the youth, participation in disaster risk reduction and management activities, such as organizing quick response groups, particularly in identified disaster-prone areas, as well as the inclusion of disaster risk reduction and management programs as part of youth programs and projects. The study aims to determine the awareness to disaster of the student of the Catanduanes State University. The disaster-based questionnaire was prepared and distributed among 636 students selected randomly from different Colleges and Laboratory Schools in the University
The Catanduanes State University students understood some disaster-related concepts and ideas, but uncertain on issues on preparedness, adaptation, and awareness on the risks inflicted by these natural hazards. Low perception on disaster risks are evidently observed among students. The responses of the students could be based on the efficiency and impact of the integration of DRR education in the senior high school curriculum. Specifically, integration of the concepts about the hazards, hazard maps, disaster preparedness, awareness, mitigation, prevention, adaptation, and resiliency in the science curriculum possibly affect the knowledge and understanding of students on DRR. Preparedness drills and other forms of capacity building must be done to improve awareness of the student towards DRRM.
The study further recommends that teachers and instructor must also be capacitated in handling disaster as they are the prime movers in the implementation of the DRRM in education. Preparedness drills and other forms of capacity building must be done to improve awareness of the student towards DRRM. Core subjects in Earth Sciences must be reinforced with geologic hazards. Learning competencies must also be focused on hazard identification and mapping, and coping with different geologic disaster

Technical analysis has been a trading tool since the 18th century which is used by investors and traders to evaluate the investments, identify the trading opportunities and forecast the future stock prices movement by analyzing price trends, chart patterns and volume data. Many different statistical tools are available for the investors and traders for making decision in financial market and analyze the stocks intrinsic value on the basis of fundamentals like balance sheet, revenues, industry trends, economic indicators and consumer behavior. Technical analysis helps the traders and investors predict the market situations and build the gap between market price and intrinsic value of the stocks by applying the techniques of behavioural economics and statistics. Many technical indicators like Simple Moving Averages, Weighted Moving Average, Trend Indictors, Momentum indicators like Stochastic, Relative Strength Index, Commodity Channel Index and Volatility indicators like the Bollinger Bands, Average True Range and Volume indicators are commonly available to study the stock price movement.

OTT platforms are media service providers, providing users with direct access to the different forms of content over the internet doing away with the need for connection to a dedicated carrier. Different age grouped people with diverse requirement of media need has been provided with the option to subscribe to OTT services. The present study has been conducted with the purpose to assess the factors affecting on-demand content popularity among users of the selected study area i.e. Guwahati city in contrast to pre-established platforms; with special reference to the pandemic. The results have shown a positive trend on the use of OTT services during the covid pandemic and it can be said that Covid 19 pandemic has definitely acted as a catalyst in increasing adoption of OTT services amongst Generation Z of Guwahati city with almost 60% respondents stating that they have started using OTT after the pandemic

Total Ionization Cross Sections due to Electron Impact of Ammonia from Threshold to 10 MeV
Get PDFIn the present paper, we have employed modified Khare-BEB method [Atoms, (2019)] to evaluate total ionization cross sections by the electron impact for ammonia in energy range from the ionization threshold to 10 MeV. The theoretical ionization cross sections have been compared to the available previous theoretical and experimental results. The collision parameters dipole matrix squared and CRP also have been calculated. The present calculations were found in remarkable agreement with the available experimental results
Issues and Challenges of English Teachers

As a major resource for the modern world, English is not only the universal language of the current era but it is the dominant language in every country in the world [1]. Considering the great ethnic and linguistic diversity of the nation, English is used not only for communication purposes but also for coordination purposes between states and within states as the country is characterized by a large ethnic and linguistic diversity. Although modern technology has played an important role in teaching and learning the language in schools and colleges in particular in small towns, it is inadequate and unproductive in the case of small towns and rural areas [2].
During the course of becoming an effective teacher, teachers are encouraged to practice a “reflective mind” so that they can gain insight into what is happening in the classroom and learn what works and doesn\u27t work [1][3]. The global economy and the competitive market of English education will present many challenges for teachers, especially English language teachers, primarily because of the competitive nature of English education as a profession, but also because of the demanding nature of a teaching career [2]. The purpose of this study was to identify the issues and challenges encountered by fifteen teacher-trainees during their teaching practicum, as well as to examine the factors that assisted in the identification of those issues and challenges. It was identified that narrative inquiry was the best method to identify challenges and issues experienced in their teaching practice.
It was found that students struggle with listening to and understanding English. The reason for this is unclear. How can these problems be alleviated? We are discussing the influence of rural pockets of India on second language acquisition, as well as the factors that slow its acquisition. These problems can be rectified successfully through appropriate and adequate remedial measures
