Analytical Modeling of Eco-Friendly Concrete Blocks from Construction and Demolition Waste using ANSYS

    No full text
This research underscores the feasibility of repurposing C&D waste, particularly old concrete, for both new construction endeavors and revamping existing projects. This approach offers a dual advantage: preserving precious landfill space while curbing the extraction of raw materials for fresh construction initiatives. Focusing on the utilization of demolished waste as partial replacements for coarse aggregates sourced from C&D Waste Traders in Sirjala, Bengaluru, 10 mm sized recycled aggregates are employed. Recognizing the porous nature of crushed aggregates owing to residual slurry, a meticulous treatment process is adopted. This includes two-stage treatment involving abrasion to eliminate residual loose slurry, followed by immersion in a fly ash solution with a concentration ratio of 1:6. Subsequently, these treated aggregates, after the curing process, are amalgamated with a robust geopolymer precursor in a mix ratio of 1:3:6 to fabricate 400X200X150 mm blocks. To gauge the masonry behavior of these innovative concrete blocks, a battery of tests conforming to ASTM codes is meticulously conducted. These evaluations serve as a robust assessment of the structural integrity, durability, and performance characteristics of the blocks, providing critical insights into their potential for widespread adoption in construction practices. This comprehensive analysis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on sustainable construction materials and practices, advocating for a paradigm shift towards eco-friendly construction methodologies amidst the burgeoning challenges of waste management and resource scarcity

    Get PDF
The Internet of things (IoT) can be used in our daily life. Home area network (HAN) is one of the applications of loT. The Smart Grid is an intelligent power network featured by its two-way flows of electricity and information. The integrated communication infrastructure allows Smart Grid systems to manage the operation of all connected components to provide reliable and sustainable electricity supplies. The Home Area Network is a dedicated network connecting devices in the home, as well as electrical vehicles. The HAN market is now emerging within the smart grid sector to serve home with different solutions. However, at the same time, due to the dependence on information technology and the deep integration of electrical components and computing information in cyber space, the system might become increasingly vulnerable to cyber- attacks. Cyber-attacks have led to numerous incidents and have been concerned by both power system operators and users. They can undermine or even completely disrupt the control system of the power grid. This paper presents an approach to modelling and validating the secure HAN network. Here a novel Trust-Based Iterative Energy-Efficient Routing Protocol (TBIEERP) is suggested with a data encryption scheme for secured data transmission in HAN. The SHA-Secure Hashing algorithm for encryption and decryption of data is employed. Finally, to detect the intrusion a deep auto encoder was used for attack detection and to protect HAN against cyber-attacks. The whole experimentation was carried out under Ubuntu & NS2 environment. Thus, the techniques proposed produce the most promising outcome over attack detection. The proposed method obtained better detection accuracy compared to the existing methods

Smart Energy Management: A Futuristic Model For Power Monitoring and Control

    Get PDF
Power management in different domains such as residential, educational, and commercial areas is the need of the hour as the demand for energy is rising day by day which is reducing the fossil-fuel storage in the earth\u27s crust as most of the percent of power we are using is made up by burning fossil fuels. Therefore power management is very much important. In this study, an integrated two-stage model is proposed to address the challenges associated with power management, namely (i) power usage monitoring, and (ii) power control for energy conservation. The model is designed such that it will provide a comprehensive solution to optimize power usage. The model is created such that in the first stage the model identifies the time frame during which power consumption is at its peak (up-time) and the time frame when power consumption is minimal (low-time) in laboratories. Further, we have to calculate the approximate percentage of power that we need to allow to the laboratory (characterized as allowed power) during low time as a percentage of total input power. Subsequently, this information serves as input for the second stage of the model, which shuts down the power supply in low time, till the allowed power is reached. It allows the full power supply in uptime

    Get PDF
The proliferation of social media platforms and online communities has led to an increase in the creation and utilization of fake profiles for various deceptive purposes. Detecting these fake profiles is crucial to maintaining the integrity, security, and trustworthiness of online platforms. This abstract provides an overview of the techniques and challenges involved in automatically detecting fake profiles. The detection of fake profiles poses a significant challenge due to the ever-evolving strategies employed by malicious actors. However, researchers and platform developers have devised several techniques to tackle this problem. Profile completeness analysis examines the information provided by users, such as profile pictures, connections, and consistency of details. Sparse or inconsistent data may raise suspicions of a fake profile. Image analysis involves reverse image searching and analyzing metadata to identify instances of profile picture misuse or manipulation. Linguistic analysis focuses on analyzing the language used in profile descriptions, posts, and comments. Patterns such as poor grammar, spelling mistakes, or generic content may indicate automated or fraudulent account activity. Social network analysis studies the network structure and connections between accounts, identifying clusters of suspicious profiles with similar connections. Behavioral analysis techniques aim to identify abnormal or bot-like behavior exhibited by fake profiles, such as excessive friend requests, repetitive posting patterns, or spamming. Machine learning models have emerged as powerful tools for fake profile detection. These models are trained on historical data, learning patterns and features associated with fake profiles. They can then classify new profiles based on these learned characteristics. CAPTCHA or verification tests provide an additional layer of security by deterring automated bot account creation. Despite the progress made, detecting fake profiles remains a challenge. Adversarial actors continuously adapt their strategies, making it difficult to stay ahead. The privacy concerns and ethical implications surrounding the collection and analysis of user data also present challenges. Additionally, false positives and negatives are common in automated detection, requiring continuous refinement and improvement of detection techniques
