1.	Spectral Study of Bromthymolblue (BTB) Dye Probe Behaviour into Different Media
A spectral study has been performed in this work on micelles and microemulsions using bromthymolblue (BTB) dye as molecular VIS probe. In this respect, it was necessary, firstly, to understand the BTB behaviour in aqueous media, in the presence of a surfactant, in order to identify its spectral characteristics and tensioactive properties. By surface tension measurements it was evidenced that the surfactant solutions in aqueous media presented the same value of micelles critical concentration (MCC) both in presence and absence of BTB dye, which shows that the surface-active property becomes visible in dye – surfactant associated form, under micelles concentration range. On the other hand at higher concentrations, this influence is negligible, due to the low concentration of BTB versus the surfactants concentration.
In order to localize the probe in micelles, the two media with different polarities have been simulated by preparing aqueous solutions of surfactants in various concentrations below and above MCC, with and without solubilization of an organic solvent.
The spectra obtained in solutions with concentrations below MCC exhibits the same absorption maxima as in pure aqueous solutions (Figure A).

One can be seen that the absorption maxima depend on the surfactant concentration.
Concentrations above the MCC indicates that the value 418.4 nm of λmax is close to 416.4 nm of TEG, close enough to 407.4 nm of pure Brij 30, but is far from 432 nm of Brij 30 in water. The result indicates that the majority of BTB molecules are located in the polar outer shell of the micelles, composed of the hydrated OE chains of the surfactant. By further increasing the surfactant concentration, a slightly hipsochrome effect could be observed, when λmax has a value which is close to 416.4 nm of TEG.

The absorption spectra of BTB in organic solvents at various concentrations of Brij 30, without water (W = 0) are shown in Figure B. The spectra are characterized by the absorption band at λmax= 407.4 nm.
