Sketch of the main structural features of the Fe-based superconductors. The Fe (red balls) plane is 
sandwiched by two As (blue balls) planes. The vertical positions of the As (or chalcogenide) atoms alternate 
with respect to the center of the Fe squares. Corners: Some possible Fermi surfaces around the center of the 
Brillouin zone and around the (0, +/−kx) and (0, +/−ky) points. Circular and elliptical pockets correspond 
to holes and electrons, respectively, while their colors represent the +/− phases of the associated 
superconducting gap.
Schéma des caractéristiques structurales principales des supraconducteurs à base de fer. Le fer (boules rouges) est 
en sandwich entre deux plans d’arsenic (boules bleues). Les positions verticales des atomes d’arsenic (ou de 
chalcogénure) alternent par rapport au centre des carrés de fer. Dans les coins, quelques surfaces de Fermi 
possibles autour du centre de la zone de Brillouin et autour des points (0, +/−kx) et (0, +/−ky). Les poches 
circulaires et elliptiques correspondent aux trous et aux électrons, respectivement, tandis que leurs couleurs 
représentent les phases +/− du gap supraconducteur associé.
