    Révision des Oweniidae Rioja, 1917 (Annelida, Palaeoannelida) de Malaisie, avec la description de deux nouvelles espèces et une clé des espèces de la mer de Chine méridionale

    On pense que plusieurs espèces de la famille des Oweniidae Rioja, 1917 (Annelida) sont responsables de la stabilisation des sédiments. L’identification et la description des espèces de cette famille sont donc cruciales. Néanmoins, peu d’oweniidés ont été identifiés dans la mer de Chine méridionale (SCS), alors qu’aucun n’a été signalé sur la côte est de la péninsule malaisienne. Deux nouvelles espèces d’oweniidés sont décrites ici : Galathowenia minuta n. sp. et Owenia unipinnata n. sp., toutes deux originaires de la zone des structures de défense côtière de Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, côte est de la Malaisie péninsulaire. Ces deux espèces représentent la plus petite espèce jamais signalée dans leur genre respectif ; Galathowenia minuta n. sp. est unique parmi toutes les espèces de Galathowenia Kirkegaard, 1959 en raison de la combinaison de caractéristiques suivante : ocelles brunâtres sur la tête, premier et deuxième segments deux fois plus longs que le troisième, pigmentation entourant le quatrième segment, le septième segment le plus long et deux lobes pygidiens obtus. À l’inverse, O. unipinnata n. sp. se distingue de ses congénères par la présence de trois paires de tentacules sur la couronne branchiale avec trois ramifications mineures et simples, l’une des paires étant située solitaire du côté médio-ventral. Des descriptions et illustrations détaillées, ainsi que plusieurs commentaires sur les caractéristiques biologiques et écologiques de ces deux nouvelles espèces sont inclus. En outre, des clés d’identification des espèces d’oweniidés signalées dans la région de la mer de Chine méridionale (SCS) sont également fournies.Several species of the family Oweniidae Rioja, 1917 (Annelida) are believed to be responsible for sediment stabilisation, therefore the taxonomic identification and description of species from this family is crucial. Nevertheless, few oweniids have been identified in the South China Sea (SCS), whereas none were reported from the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Two new oweniid species are described here: Galathowenia minuta n. sp. and Owenia unipinnata n. sp., both stemming from the coastal defense structure area of Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. These two species represent the smallest one ever recorded in their genera; G. minuta n. sp. is unique among all species of Galathowenia Kirkegaard, 1959 because of the following combination of features: brownish eyespots at head, first and second segments twice as long as the third, pigmentation encircling the fourth segment, seventh segment longest, and two blunt pygidial lobes. Conversely, O. unipinnata n. sp. is different from its congeners because of the presence of three pairs of tentacles on the branchial crown with three minor and simple ramifications, one of the pairs located solitary at the midventral side. Detailed descriptions and illustrations, as well as several comments on the biological and ecological traits of these two new species are included. Furthermore, identification keys to the species of oweniids recorded in the South China Sea (SCS) region are also provided.</p

    Revision of subfamily Mesitiinae (Hymenoptera, Bethylidae) from China

    The species of Mesitiinae (Bethylidae) from China are revised and 20 species belonging to five genera are recognized. The following eleven new species are described: Heterocoelia curtisulcus sp. nov., H. unicolor sp. nov., H. varicolor sp. nov., H. remota sp. nov., Incertosulcus afoveatus sp. nov., I. exilisulcus sp. nov., Sulcomesitius angustifrons sp. nov., S. latibilobatus sp. nov., S. sparsulus sp. nov., Zimankos acutulus sp. nov. and Z. hamulosus sp. nov. Two new synonymies are proposed: Heterocoelia sinensis Xu &amp; He, 2006 is synonymized with H. zhaoi Xu &amp; He, 2006, and Sulcomesitius rectus Xu, He &amp; Terayama, 2003 with Zimankos cambodianus (Móczár, 1976). Two species are transferred from Sulcomesitius to Heterocoelia, resulting in H. punctulata (Xu, He &amp; Terayama, 2003) comb. nov. and H. neomoczari (Barbosa &amp; Azevedo, 2018) comb. nov. Two species are transferred from Heterocoelia to Sulcomesitius, resulting in S. zhaoi (Xu &amp; He, 2006) comb. nov. and S. breviculus (Xu &amp; He, 2003) comb. nov. Furthermore, Zimankos mahunkai (Móczár, 1981) is recorded from China for the first time.</p

    Semi-aquatic Epilamprinae cockroaches (Blattodea: Blaberidae) in Cameroon: towards a revision of continental African species of &lt;i&gt;Rhabdoblatta&lt;/i&gt; Kirby, 1903 and &lt;i&gt;Africalolampra&lt;/i&gt; Roth, 1995

    Although semi-aquatic cockroaches have been known for a long time, these insects remain little studied and their diversity underestimated. While a few species are known from Asia or South America, only a single one is known to be associated with water in Africa. Here, we report two species of semi-aquatic cockroaches of the subfamily Epilamprinae from Cameroon. One of these species is new: Rhabdoblatta fotoi Nyame Mbia, Legendre &amp; Biram à Ngon sp. nov. Africalolampra camerunensis (Borg, 1902) comb. nov. was also found associated to these streams and we provide an extended description of this species, as well as for Africalolampra stipata comb. nov., also known from streams in West Africa. Another species was found in Cameroonian streams and is described here, although only identified at the family level (Blattellidae). The descriptions are based on morpho-anatomic characters, including male genitalia. Because nymphs were found primarily associated with water – more than adults – we provide a description of nymphs whenever possible. We provide molecular data (12S rRNA marker) for two of these water-associated species that we compared with published and unpublished sequences of Epilamprinae in a Maximum Likelihood approach. We also illustrate all but one species from continental Africa in the genera Africalolampra and Rhabdoblatta, including R. punctipennis (Saussure, 1895) which we reinstate. We provide a map and list of localities for Africalolampra and Rhabdoblatta spp. from continental Africa and Madagascar, as well as an identification key for species of Africalolampra. We finally discuss putative adaptations of semi-aquatic cockroaches.</p

    Une importante collecte de nautiles dans les assises du Jurassique Moyen de l’ouest de la France a permis d’établir l’origine et le mode d’évolution du genre Pseudaganides Spath, 1927, genre caractérisé par une ligne de suture cloisonnaire particulièrement sinueuse. Cette étude conduit à décrire un genre nouveau, Antaganides n. gen. qui serait à l’origine de la famille des Pseudonautilidae. L’approfondissement progressif du lobe latéral et l’apparition d’une selle latéro-dorsale constituent les éléments majeurs du mode évolutif à l’intérieur de ce groupe. Parmi les espèces décrites, six sont nouvelles. Trois se rapportent à Antaganides n. gen.: A. sauvageti n. gen., n. sp., A. fournieri n. gen., n. sp. et A. grulkei n. gen., n. sp. Trois autres sont attribuées à Pseudaganides: P. aquitanense n. sp., P. buffeventi n. sp. et P. crechensis. Nos résultats confirment l’absence de parenté avec les nautiles à cloisons plissées plus anciens comme ceux du genre Belmonticeras Rulleau, 2008. La position stratigraphique de Pseudaganides subbiangulatus (d’Orbigny, 1850) est remise en question et, pour cette espèce, un cas de dimorphisme sexuel est envisagé avec P. dimidiatus (Marchand &amp; Tintant 1971). D’un point de vue paléobiogéographique, il apparait que la lignée Antaganides n. gen.-Pseudaganides aurait d’abord évolué sur la marge nord-ouest de l’océan téthysien avant de gagner le domaine indo-malgache au début du Callovien.An important collection of nautiloids from the Middle Jurassic of western France has enabled a revised understanding of the origin and evolutionary progression of the genus Pseudaganides Spath, 1927, a genus characterised by a particularly sinuous suture line. This study describes and introduces a new genus, Antaganides n. gen. at the origin of the family Pseudonautilidae. Progressive deepening of the lateral lobe and appearance of a laterodorsal saddle are the major elements of the evolutionary mode within this family. Of the species described herein, six are new. Three are related to Antaganides n. gen.: A. sauvageti n. gen., n. sp., A. fournieri n. gen., n. sp. and A. grulkei n. gen., n. sp. Three further specimens are related to Pseudaganides: P. aquitanense n. sp., P. buffeventi n. sp. and P. crechensis. Results confirm the absence of a relationship with older folded-wall nautiloids such as the genus Belmonticeras Rulleau, 2008. The stratigraphical position of Pseudaganides subbiangulatus (d’Orbigny, 1850) is questioned and for this species, a case of sexual dimorphism is considered with P. dimidiatus (Marchand &amp; Tintant 1971). From a palaeobiogeographic viewpoint, it appears that the Antaganides n. gen.-Pseudaganides lineage first evolved on the north-western margin of the Tethyan Ocean before migration into the Indo-Malagasy domain at the beginning of the Callovian.</p

    Exploration of macrofungi in the Jammu and Kashmir regions, India, led to the discovery of two novel species, described herein as Lactarius indohirtipes sp. nov. and L. sharmai sp. nov. This paper presents detailed morphological descriptions and illustrations, as well as a phylogenetic analysis based on nrITS sequences. A comparative analysis with related species is also included.</p

    This study focuses on the description of a new Parastenocaridinae species belonging to a new genus from Brazil’s Jalapão microregion and the establishment of a new genus for two West African Fontinalicaridinae species. Afrocaris gen. nov. and Pectenocaris gen. nov. differ in the morphology of the furca, with a gap between the outer setae I–III and the dorsal seta VII in Afrocaris gen. nov., and no gap between these elements in Pectenocaris gen. nov. The female genital field of Pectenocaris gen. nov. is rectangular and much broader than high than in other Parastenocaridinae. In Afrocaris gen. nov. the female endopod of the third pereopod is short, ending in a small tip, without a distal fused spine as in Pectenocaris gen. nov. Pectenocaris evilsoni gen. et sp. nov. is the type species of a new Parastenocaridinae genus. The maxillula praecoxal arthrite of Pectenocaris evilsoni is armed with six elements, a unique character within the family. The fourth pereopod of the male is heavily ornamented along the inner margin of the first and second exopodite, and cylindrical spinules with rounded tip are present on the basis, near the insertion of the short filiform endopod. The main characters supporting the new genus Afrocaris gen. nov. are the highly ornate inner margin of the first and second exopodites of the male fourth pereopod and the short fourth pereopod of the male endopod. The phylogenetic positions of Pectenocaris evilsoni gen. et sp. nov. and Afrocaris gen. nov. within their own subfamilies are challenging to ascertain due to the highly transformed male fourth pereopod in Pectenocaris evilsoni gen. et sp. nov. and the two species of Afrocaris gen. nov. as well as the absence of an intermediate condition in species closely related to each of these genera or a clear synapomorphy for a more inclusive group within each subfamily, requiring further field and morpho/molecular systematic work.</p

    &lt;i&gt;Temnothorax caryaluteus&lt;/i&gt; sp. nov. (Hymenoptera: Formicidae): a new ant species from the eastern United States

    A taxonomic revision of Stygnus Perty, 1833, in Colombia was conducted. The new species Stygnus apaporis sp. nov. is described from Lago Taraira, departments of Guaviare and Vaupés in the Colombian Amazonian region. The genus is recorded for the first time in eight Colombian departments: Amazonas, Caquetá, Casanare, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Meta, Risaralda and Vaupés. New geographic records for S. gerstchi (Roewer, 1963) and comments about its type locality are offered. Two species are recorded for the first time in Colombia: Stygnus nogueirai Pinto-da-Rocha &amp; Tourinho, 2012 (departments of Guaviare and Vaupés) and S. simonis Sørensen, 1932 (department of Amazonas). Some new geographic records of the genus in the Amazon region are presented, and it is recorded for the first time in Ceará state (Brazil) and Madre de Dios department (Peru), with the presence of two unidentified species. Updated distributional maps of the genus in Colombia and South America are offered. Finally, in taxonomic studies of Gonyleptoidea, six longitudinal rows of tubercles have been described on the legs. Here, these rows are identified for a species of the genus Stygnus and an additional row is detected and named.</p

    Four new free-living marine nematode species (Plectida: Ceramonematidae) and two new species records (Desmodorida: Desmodorinae) from Rangitāhua / Kermadec Islands, Aotearoa / New Zealand

    Kermadec Islands is a remote subtropical island arc in the Southwest Pacific Ocean located 800–1000 km northeast of New Zealand’s North Island. Until now, no data was available on the nematode fauna living in the seafloor environments surrounding these islands. A single sample of subtidal coarse sediments from the Raoul Island coast yielded four new ceramonematid species: Ceramonema taikoraha sp. nov., C. taiora sp. nov., Metadasynemoides taihua sp. nov. and Pselionema huakita sp. nov. This new discovery is the first addition to the family since 2008 and brings the total number of valid ceramonematid species globally to 67 species. Dichotomous identification keys are provided for valid species of Ceramonema, Metadasynemoides and Pselionema. The desmodorid species Acanthopharynx dormitata and Desmodora bilacinia, were also recorded from Raoul Island some 1350 km away from their type locality in Wellington Harbour (New Zealand’s North Island). These species may have a relatively widespread distribution but testing this hypothesis will require further morphological comparisons and analyses of molecular sequence data to confirm the status of the Kermadec specimens.</p

    New and revised taxa of Carboniferous spiriferides (Brachiopoda, Spiriferida) from the Donets Basin (Ukraine) and South Urals (Russia)

    The brachiopods Meristorygma donakovae Poletaev, 2018, Johnsoniana nom. nov. from Mississippian strata of the Urals and Betaneospirifer stepanovi Poletaev, 2015 from Gzhelian rocks of the Urals are re-described. Tiramnia davidi sp. nov. from the Bashkirian of the Donets Basin (Ukraine) is newly described. Revision of available data shows that the revised genus Verneuilia Hall &amp; Clarke, 1893 belongs to the family Elythynidae Gourvennec, 1994 of the superfamily Martinioidea Waagen, 1883. The genera Johnsoniana nom. nov., Changshunella Sun et al., 2004 and possibly Minythyra Branton, 1984 belong to the family Oceaniidae Poletaev, 2015 of the superfamily Paeckelmanelloidea Ivanova, 1972. The importance of characters such as denticulation of the hinge line of the interarea and type of vascular impression in the diagnosis of higher spiriferid taxa is shown.</p
