    No full text
Environmental Education (EE) are very important in the modern world, and people are paying more attention to it. It is not easy to make the people understand the importance of healthy food, and farmers’ hardships. The study aims to explain the importance of EE to university and elementary students. We use AI robots as the learning partner to design the teaching material that follows the core value of EE. In this study, we observed and recorded the learning situation and questionnaire to understand the practices of the two studies: “Become the EE seed teacher” and “Become the EE seed”. The discovery of study 1 is successful training university students become the seed teacher. The discovery of study 2 is significant higher learning effect in the treatment group’s than the control group. The research results will provide implementation for the design of EE and technology application courses for innovation.

The novelty of this study lies in its holistic approach to addressing these relevant and practical issues. The major purpose is to determine the optimal pricing, pre-order discount, and replenishment decisions to maximize the total profit under carbon tax policy. Through theoretical analysis, this study develops several theorems to demonstrate properties of optimal solutions and an easy-to-use algorithm to derive optimal solutions. Further, several numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the solution process for different scenarios and the effects of various parameters on optimal alternatives and solutions. This study provides companies management implications to address the challenges posed by the global movement to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining their profitability.

Development of Active-Clamp Flyback Converter for Improving Light-Load Efficiency

    No full text
Conventional active-clamp flyback (ACF) converters suffer increased conduction losses due to the extended conduction time of the auxiliary switch during light loads. To tackle this problem and improve light-load efficiency, this article proposes a novel control strategy. This strategy is designed to limit the generation of excessive conduction losses by the auxiliary switch during light loads. The proposed control strategy also employs the quasi-resonant (QR) valley switching (VS) technique within a single switching cycle to activate the auxiliary switch. This enables the main switch to achieve zero-voltage switching (ZVS) characteristics during its operation. Moreover, once the converter reaches medium loads, the auxiliary and main switches operate in a complementary manner with a fixed frequency. This operation allows both switches to achieve ZVS, leading to a significant reduction in switching losses. The operating principle and control strategy of the 65-W ACF converter with the novel control approach have been thoroughly analyzed and discussed. Experimental results have confirmed the effectiveness of this strategy, validating its ability to improve the overall efficiency of the converter under various load conditions.National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan補正完畢US

Hysterical Bodies and Hysterical Conditions: Sensation and Force in Edgar Allan Poe's Short Stories

    No full text
Hysteria, traditionally linked to mental illness and gendered social constructs, is redefined in this paper through the concepts of the hysterical body and hysterical condition. Drawing on Gilles Deleuze's analysis of the twentieth-century painter Francis Bacon in The Logic of Sensation, this paper offers a new perspective on hysteria, focusing not on its sociocultural or gendered dimensions but on its nature as an intense bodily experience. Hysteria, in this sense, is characterized by overwhelming forces and sensations that verge on the terrifying. It extends beyond the framework of mental disorder, manifesting instead as an intense force arising both internally and externally. The internal forces of the body reveal themselves through spontaneous physical reactions such as vertigo, convulsions, shuddering, spasms, vomiting, and screaming. External forces on the body, meanwhile, act like waves that flow through the body, provoking involuntary responses before conscious awareness can intervene. Poe's horror tales intricately depict these forces and their effects, offering a fertile ground for exploring the movements of sensation and hysteria within his narratives. The latter part of this paper delves into Poe's nuanced portrayal of forces and sensations in "Berenice" and "The Pit and the Pendulum," examining how these narratives vividly render the complexities of the hysterical body and the hysterical condition. By incorporating a Deleuzian perspective, the analysis illuminates how Poe's texts convey the transformation of "abjection into splendor" and the experience of life's horror as "a very pure and very intense life," thereby highlighting the aesthetic depth of hysteria in his works.

This quantitative study investigates the influence of green marketing strategies on brand loyalty in the Thai bottled water market. Specifically, it focuses on the Namthip, Sprinkle Water, Purra Water, Singha Water, and Crystal Water brands. By examining consumer perceptions of green marketing and their brand loyalty towards these brands, the study aims to provide empirical support for optimizing marketing strategies. The research employs a survey methodology to collect data from Thai consumers. The sample size is 336 respondents in total, distributed through social media platforms. The questionnaire includes measures of such as, green marketing, customer perceptions, brand loyalty, and demographic characteristics. Statistical analysis techniques, such as regression analysis, is applied to assess the correlations of investigated constructs. Green marketing initiatives through green advertisement, eco-friendly packaging, and carbon footprint labeling had positive impact to customer perception. Customer perception positively impact brand loyalty while also mediates the correlation between green marketing and brand loyalty. However, green practice’s impact between customer perception and brand loyalty is not significant. The findings of this study provide a better comprehend the effectiveness of green marketing in fostering brand loyalty in the Thai bottled water industry. Additionally, the results may provide valuable recommendations for businesses aiming to enhance their sustainability efforts and build stronger relationships with consumers.Department of Management Sciences, Tamkang University補正完畢國際新北,台灣TW

ESG, Market Microstructure, and Herding Behavior: Evidence from CSAD Tests in Taiwan

    No full text
This study examines how ESG transparency and market microstructure reform shape herding behavior in Taiwan’s equity markets. Using nonlinear CSAD models, we find that low-ESG firms exhibit stronger herding, especially in the OTC market and during market stress. The 2020 shift to continuous trading further amplifies herding among low-ESG firms. Return-dispersion decomposition shows that this convergence is mainly intentional and driven by noise trading. High-ESG firms display consistently weaker herding, underscoring the informational value of ESG. Overall, ESG transparency helps mitigate behaviorally induced co-movements and enhances market efficiency.

Band Unfolding in Finite Nanostructures: Visualizing Dirac, Spin–Valley, and Rashba Features

    No full text
Nanomaterials possess unique electronic properties distinct from bulk systems, and spatially resolved techniques such as nano-ARPES now allow for local band structure measurements at the nanoscale. However, theoretical tools for interpreting band dispersion in finite, aperiodic systems remain limited. Here, we propose a "giant molecule band unfolding" (GMBU) procedure that enables the extraction of band dispersion from molecular orbital levels of finite systems without assuming periodic boundary conditions. Using first-principles calculations for graphene, tungsten disulfide, and bismuth/silver surface alloy nanoflakes, we successfully reproduced the characteristic band structures of Dirac cones, spin-valley locking, and Rashba spin splitting, respectively. Our spin-resolved formulation visualizes spin textures and provides an efficient framework for analyzing spintronic and valleytronic properties. GMBU enabled visualization of band dispersion, even when nanoflakes were bent. The method bridges discrete and continuous electronic descriptions and is applicable across dimensionalities and symmetry classes, offering new possibilities for understanding and designing functional nanoscale materials.

Composite Machine Learning System for Real-Time Response to Negative Online Reviews: A Case Study Based on the Negative Reinforcement Model of Digital Marketing †

    No full text
This research proposes a composite machine learning (ML) framework for real-time response to negative online reviews, grounded in the psychological principle of negative reinforcement. By integrating K-means clustering to group reviews by thematic similarity and bidirectional encoder representations from transformer (BERT)-based sentiment analysis to assess emotional tone, and the system identifies high-risk clusters requiring marketing intervention. Customized response strategies are designed based on cluster sentiment intensity, and their effectiveness can be evaluated via sentiment transformation functions. The proposed model provides a practical and adaptive approach to digital marketing, enabling brands to respond rapidly, reduce dissatisfaction, and enhance consumer trust in a data-driven environment.

The Impact of Mandatory Sustainability Reporting on Firms’ Carbon Emissions
