Quantum Space Thruster
An innovative ion thruster is conceptually introduced by utilizing the superconductor. Two remarkable quantum features of the superconductor, significant magnetic strength and quantum locking, have been applied to the plasma generator and ion accelerator, respectively. The former feature greatly reduces the need for electric power to generate a huge magnetic field and also reduces the size of the plasma generator. The latter feature provides the ion passage channels and prevents them from colliding with each other. Simulation results show agreement with the reduced electric power needed compared to the traditional ion thruster. In addition, the ion beams are shown to be restricted in the individual channels generated by quantum locking. Design and Evaluation of a Traffic Accident Risk Simulation System Based on Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence Technologies
This study aims to develop a driving simulation system that addresses the six primary risks of car accidents involving passenger vehicles, integrating virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Initially, the paper examines the application of VR in education and presents traffic accident statistics for passenger vehicles in Taiwan, which inform the selection of hazardous scenarios incorporated into the system. It then details the creation of virtual urban traffic environments and the development of virtual vehicle operations, highlighting the use of AI in detecting driver head movements. Additionally, the paper discusses the construction of traffic scenario simulations, including the integration of random and event-specific vehicles, and showcases the system’s features. Finally, it presents the evaluation results, summarizes the contributions of this research in applying VR and AI to driving simulation, and offers recommendations for future research directions.補正完畢US
From innovation to action: How esports fans convert innovativeness into merchandise consumption.
This study examines the impact of esports fans’ innovativeness on licensed merchandise consumption, with fan knowledge as a mediating mechanism and psychological connection as a moderating factor. Grounded in innovation diffusion theory and the psychological continuum model, cross-sectional data from 466 active esports fans were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that fan innovativeness significantly predicts merchandise consumption, which is primarily mediated through knowledge about fans and knowledge for fans, whereas no significant mediation is found in knowledge from fans. Importantly, psychological connection negatively moderates these relationships such that higher emotional attachment dampens the effects of innovativeness on knowledge from fans, knowledge about fans, knowledge for fans, and purchase behavior. These findings highlight the complex interplay between emotional loyalty and cognitive openness, which suggests that strong psychological bonds may inhibit novelty-seeking behavior despite high levels of innovativeness. This study contributes to the esports marketing literature by extending sport fan behavior models to digital fandom contexts and offering strategic insights for managing emotionally engaged yet innovation-sensitive fan segments.補正完畢US
Centralized or decentralized bargaining in a vertically-related market with endogenous price/quantity choices
This research investigates the endogenous choice of centralized or decentralized bargaining and the type of strategic variables by taking into account a vertically-related market where an upstream monopolist bargains with two downstream firms via a two-part input pricing contract. We show that centralized bargaining is the unique equilibrium mode of bargaining, given Cournot or Bertrand competition in the product market, and that choosing the quantity (price) contract is the dominant strategy for both downstream firms under decentralized (centralized) bargaining. When both the type of strategic variables and the mode of bargaining are endogenously determined, the unique equilibrium outcome is choosing price contracts and centralized bargaining, which maximize industry profit, but there is market failure.補正完畢DE

Constrained Agency and Symbolic Power: Taiwan’s Arctic Science Diplomacy Under Geopolitical Tension
Taiwan’s role in Arctic science diplomacy shows how a diplomatically limited actor can turn restricted agency into symbolic influence. Although excluded from formal Arctic governance, Taiwan has built a modest yet strategically significant presence through scientific collaboration, knowledge exchange, and selective partnerships with democratic middle powers. Based on interviews, institutional documents, and recent literature, this study traces developments from 2021 to 2025, including Taiwan’s participation in German- and Polish-led research programs and its 2025 entry into the University of the Arctic. These small but cumulative efforts boost legitimacy through association, allow participation without formal recognition, and reflect Taiwan’s broader shift from status-seeking diplomacy to technical and value-based engagement. Using a realist-constructivist perspective, the analysis interprets Taiwan’s Arctic activities as expressions of limited agency and symbolic power amid U.S.–China rivalry and post-2022 disruptions in Arctic governance.補正完畢TW
