Rethinking institutional coordination as a transformational issue in providing and administering urban land for housing development in Ethiopia: Evidence from Bahir Dar metropolitan city
Institutional coordination and robust land administration are essential to ensuring sustainable land delivery and housing development in fast-growing cities. It also benefits urban dwellers, particularly low-income groups and homeless individuals. Despite efforts, Ethiopia’s metropolitan areas have institutional coordination challenges. The horizontal and vertical coordination between land administration and the government heavily influences the output of housing. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of existing institutional coordination in urban land management to support effective land supply for residential purposes. The institution’s current and desired levels of coordination reveal a significant lack of vertical and horizontal coordination. In order to meet the study’s objectives, a mixed methodology was used, combining primary and secondary sources. The data collection process utilised rigorous methods like questionnaires, interviews, focus group discussions, field observations, and desk reviews to ensure accuracy and reliability for analysis and further decision-making. The findings unequivocally demonstrate that urban land administration institutions lack adequate vertical and peer coordination, severely hindering their ability to deliver land for housing development efficiently and effectively. Thus, urban and regional governments must rethink and restructure the current institutions for urban land administration, paving the way for a more efficient and effective system. This restructuring should incorporate robust vertical and horizontal coordination and address identified performance capability deficiencies. Ultimately, the study has provided a clear exit strategy that will contribute to the establishment of effective and efficient land administration functions. The study’s findings have significant implications for future urban land administration in Ethiopia and similar urban locations worldwide
Dance movement design based on computer three-dimensional auxiliary system
The Marching Cube method, a classical algorithm based on the voxel method, is used to perform three-dimensional computer-aided dance movements. Aiming at several problems in the MC algorithm, an optimization and improvement method is proposed, which realizes the organic combination of image segmentation and the MC algorithm. We use the segmented binary data to extract the isosurface; solve the ambiguity problem by establishing a look-up table of intersection conditions; use the method of quickly finding the boundary cube to avoid searching for a certain amount of empty cells; at the same time, use the midpoint method to calculate the triangle vertices. This paper verifies the effectiveness of the dance action recognition algorithm proposed in this paper on the dance data set DanceDB of the University of Cyprus and the folk dance data set FolkDance produced by the laboratory. The experimental results show that the algorithm in this paper can maintain a certain recognition rate for more complex dance movements, and the method in this paper can still guarantee a certain accuracy rate when the background and the target are easily confused. This also verifies the effectiveness of the motion recognition algorithm in this paper for dance motion recognition
An Aerial Image Dehazing Algorithm Using a Prior-Based Dense Attentive Network
To address the problem that the acquired images tend to degrade in clarity and fidelity in aerial hazy conditions to the extent that the target is difficult to detect, this paper proposes an aerial image dehazing algorithm using a prior-based dense attentive network. The network is based on dense blocks and attention blocks with an encoder-decoder structure, which can directly learn the mapping between the input image and the corresponding haze-free image without relying on the traditional atmospheric scattering model. In addition, to better handle inhomogeneous hazy images, the initial fuzzy density map is first extracted from the original hazy images and then used as a common input to the network together with the original hazy images. Finally, this paper synthesizes a large -scale aerial image dehazing dataset containing two subsets of uniform and non -uniform images. The experimental results and data analysis show that the proposed method exhibits better performance of dehazing with other algorithms on both synthetic and real images
Seismic Performance Analysis of Conjoined Structures with Inhomogeneous Stiffness Distribution
Two or more independent towers are joined together through a connectome to form a conjoined structure. The deformation and internal force of the tower are complex, and the coupling effect between the two towers is remarkable when the earthquake is subjected. In this paper, elastic -plastic time -history analysis is adopted to research the dynamic dynamic response under the action of rare earthquakes. Effects of obstructive sleep apnea on cardiac autonomic nervous homeostasis
Objective: To investigate the effect of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) on cardiac autonomic nervous homeostasis. Methods the patients with OSAHS diagnosed in our hospital were the observation group, and the non OSAHS patients in the same period were the control group. The differences of baseline data, sleep monitoring, time domain analysis index of heart rate variability, peripheral blood methoxyepinephrine (MN) and methoxynorepinephrine (NMN) between the two groups were analyzed. The observation group was divided into light, medium and heavy groups according to apnea index (AHI), and the correlation analysis between age, AHI, lsao2, time domain index and blood catecholamine metabolites was carried out. Results: Ahi was negatively correlated with SDNN and PNN50% (P <0.01) and positively correlated with NMN (p<0.05); lsao2 was positively correlated with SDNN and PNN50% (P <0.05), and negatively correlated with vanillic acid 2 (p<0.05). Conclusion patients with OSAHS have obvious disturbance of cardiac sympathetic and vagus nerve balance at night
Correlation between glomerular filtration rate and insulin resistance index in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease
Objective: To investigate the changes of insulin resistance index[Homa-IR (CP)] in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) at different stages of glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and to analyze the relationship between them. Methods: From January 2015 to June 2019, 1013 patients with T2DM and CKD were admitted to Mudanjiang Cardiovascular Disease Hospital Diabetes Branch Hospital (grade three grade a hospital). The general conditions of the patients were collected, and the biochemical indexes were measured by the laboratory department of our hospital. After calculating the HOMA IR (CP) and EGFR values according to the obtained data, the patients were divided into five groups according to the CKD grouping criteria: 0 ~ 15 ml·(min·1. 73m2)-1 for group A, 15 ~ 30 ml·(min·1. 73m2)-1 for group B, 30 ~ 45 ml·(min·1. 73m2)-1 for group C, 45 ~ 60 ml·(min·1. 73m2)-1 for group D and 60 ~ 90 mL·(min·1. 73m2)-1 for group E. The relevant data were statistically analyzed by SPSS software. Results: (1) There was a negative correlation between EGFR and HOMA IR (CP) in T2DM patients with CKD (r = - 0.25, P = 0.000). (2) The comparison results between HOMA IR (CP) groups showed that there was significant difference between group A and group B and other groups, and there was significant difference between group C and group D and other groups (P0.05). (3) The pairwise comparison between fasting blood glucose groups showed that there was significant difference between group A and group B (LSD-t = -1.74, P = 0.034). There was significant difference in insulin dosage between group A and other groups (P0.05), and there was significant difference between group D and group E (LSD-t = 0.06, P = 0.005). (4) Logistic analysis of EGFR showed that age, serum creatinine and HOMA IR (CP) were the main influencing factors of EGFR (P0.05). Conclusion: there is a significant negative correlation between EGFR and HOMA IR (CP) in T2DM patients with CKD. In the process of aggravating insulin resistance, EGFR increased more significantly in the two stages of 45 ~ 60 ml·(min·1. 73m2)-1 and 15 ~ 30 ml·(min·1. 73m2)-1
Hospitality in heritage objects in Slovak conditions and its digital innovations
The hospitality industry in the last decade has been undergoing a significant transformation towards digital tools. However, the negative effects of the pandemic did not avoid even the hospitality services provided by historical or heritage objects. The paper discusses initiatives to implement digital elements in accommodation services for heritage objects in Slovak conditions. Its main goal was to find out whether accommodation companies used digital elements before the pandemic, whether the pandemic strengthened their use, and whether the duration of the company’s operation has an impact on their implementation. The main methods were questionnaire research and the interview, which enabled the collection of primary data. Subsequently, the results were verified by selected mathematical and statistical methods. The research sample consisted of 136 accommodation companies, operating in Slovakia, regardless of category. Accommodation establishments have started using digital elements even before the pandemic appeared. Their potential future use was not significantly affected by the pandemic. Despite the surveys in which various researchers state that the pandemic intensified their implementation, this thesis was not confirmed in the domestic sample. The use of digital tools goes hand in hand with technical progress. Elements such as the pandemic strengthen their development only marginally
Effective factors in evaluating tourism marketing performance
Given that the survival of organizations depends on their ability to create value and value is defined by customers. Marketing is a tool to attract customers and it is contributing to the long-term commercial success and therefore, evaluating their performance is a crucial task for management. Due to the fact that there is lack of specific criteria and indicators to evaluate marketing performance, this paper proposes the criteria and related indicators for performance evaluation of tourism marketing by adopting meta-synthesis method and grounded and multi grounded theories. The statistical population included academic and industrial experts were identified from universities and tourism sector activists in Malaysia. This study introduces 11 main criteria and 40 indicators for each aspect in order to evaluate the performance of tourist attraction

Environmentally responsible consumption by rural tourists in Rio Grande do Sul—Brazil
Rural tourism consists of leisure activities in a non-urban environment. The interest in rural tourism has been growing significantly since the 1990s, as well as the rural establishments that started to offer some tourist products in rural areas. Rural tourism fosters environmental practices and can influence environmentally responsible behavior. Thus, this study aimed to identify the environmentally responsible consumption practices carried out by rural tourists. To this end, the research has a quantitative approach, made possible through a questionnaire applied to 103 rural tourists. Data collection took place between 26 November 2020, and 13 March 2021, and the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics. The main results showed that rural tourists prefer passive resources, where the tourist is a mere spectator and are motivated by recreationist, as they prefer moments of contemplation and relaxation for physical and mental recovery. In addition, rural tourists consider themselves altruistic, a behavior where the decision to act pro-environmentally is based on the costs and benefits perceived by their peers. However, they do not necessarily have sustainable behavior
