Transformative spiritualities : for the pilgrimage of justice and peace (2022)Die Kirchen des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen befinden sich auf einem „Pilgerweg der Gerechtigkeit und des Friedens“ – gemeinsam mit allen Menschen guten Willens – seit sie 2013 zu ihrer Vollversammlung in Busan zusammengekommen sind. Die Schaffung von Frieden mit Gerechtigkeit steht im Mittelpunkt der ökumenischen Bewegung seit ihren Anfängen. Dies spiegelt die Berufung der Kirchen in einer Welt wider, die durch systemische Ungerechtigkeit – Rassismus, Sexismus, Fremdenfeindlichkeit, wirtschaftliche Ausbeutung und Gewalt unter Menschen sowie gegen die Natur verwundet ist. Während ethische Orientierung, theologische Überlegungen und politisches Engagement ganz oben auf der Tagesordnung des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen stehen, hat die spirituelle Dimension eines „gerechten Friedens“ nicht immer die gleiche Aufmerksamkeit erhalten. Mit Beginn des „Pilgerwegs der Gerechtigkeit und des Frieden“ hat der ÖRK begonnen, sich bewusst auf „transformative Spiritualitäten“ zu konzentrieren, um die Kraft der vielen unterschiedlichen Glaubensgemeinschaften rund um den Globus (wieder) zu entdecken.
Woher kommen diese ausgeprägten Fähigkeiten, dem Bösen mit Gutem zu widerstehen, Ungerechtigkeiten in ein Leben in Würde für alle umzuwandeln und zerbrochene Beziehungen zu heilen – auch
gegenüber „Mutter Natur“? Und wie sehen einige der spirituellen Praktiken aus, die Gemeinschaften auf diesem „sacred walk“ inspirieren? Dieser Band enthält eine Auswahl von Erfahrungen, Reflexionen und Überlegungen zu solch transformativen Spiritualitäten, von indigenen Perspektiven zu dezidierten Stimmen von Frauen, von den Kämpfen schwarzer Gemeinschaften bis zu campesinos*as in Lateinamerika, von spezifisch christlichen Traditionen bis hin zu Schwesterreligionen.
Es ist eine gemeinsame Quelle, aus der wir alle trinken, und die Leserinnen und Leser einlädt, an dem Versprechen teilzuhaben, dass ein Leben in Frieden und Gerechtigkeit tatsächlich für alle möglich ist

The article shows that there are ethical methodologies to clarify values and virtues, also in cultural, religious and philosophical differences. It shows how conflicts of values can be managed to reach common standards e.g. in a university. It shows integrity as the virtue of virtues and as a universal and institutional reference in all areas of society including the academic world. There is sometimes a price to pay for integrity

Full text linkTrust is the basis of the relationship between journalists and scientists, between editors and scientists, as we recall here, in an article based on our experience of several decades of publishing in the press and publishing industry. The integrity of specialists, whose initial writings are reviewed by their peers, is not a priori questioned. However, shortcomings do exist and the question of verifying information, its sources and even its veracity is increasingly being raised. It is also necessary to ensure that the writings do not contain plagiarism (or self-plagiarism) or fraud. Publications (newspapers, magazines, books, etc.) could then be accused of counterfeiting or copyright infringement - which could cost them dearly - and lose their credibility. In addition to academic standards, legal standards apply here. Some concrete examples that we have had to deal with, both in the press and in publishing, illustrate our point

Deignan Award of Responsible Entrepreneurship : exploring the ethical underpinnings of a proposed award in the context of the United Nations sustainability goals
Full text linkThe article discusses a proposed "Deignan Award for Responsible Entrepreneurship", "DARE," by examining the economic theory and empirical methods, with a special attention to the ethical presuppositions, underpinning DARE. Given the overall focus on the achievement of the UN Sustainability Goals, the article argues that Compliance based administrative approaches need to be supplemented with intrinsic motivation through awards like DARE. These offer incentives for businesspeople and key stakeholders to freely embrace and compete for the achievement of the UN Sustainability goals as well as to maintain a focus on the genuine meaning of core issues of Responsible Entrepreneurship. This approach maintains the importance of compliance but argues that it needs to be supplemented by intrinsic motivation which may be especially relevant in an Asian Confucian context where "walking the talk" and setting the tone from the top play a decisive role within strictly hierarchical settings, prone to widespread corruption. Awards like DARE may in fact play a modest but significant role in shaping a new economic paradigm oriented towards the common good, contrasted with a reductive model of economics and finance focused exclusively on profit maximization, economic growth, monetary rewards, and cost cutting, coupled with a questionable rhetoric about Corporate Social Responsibility which may easily be abused as a tool for PR unfettered by either proper oversight or mechanisms supporting transparency
