Reviewing the statistical files of the Alejandro Mann Children\u27s Hospital in the city of Guayaquil, which provides outpatient care to approximately an average of 147,464 per year, with an average annual hospitalization of 3,096 of a child population from all regions of the country; Of the positive coproparasitoscopic diagnoses we found a high incidence of intestinal polyparasitism. Amoebiasis ranks third after ascariasis and giardiasis. Of them, 65% were healthy carriers, with a prevalence in school age, producing predominantly diarrhea, abdominal pain and moderate anemia in the symptomatic ones.La infección por ameba histolítica afecta a todas las comunidades del universo, con prevalencia en climas tropicales, existiendo un gran porcentaje de portadores asintomáticos eliminadores de quistes que infectan a personas sanas. Revisando los archivos de estadística del Hospital de Niños Alejandro Mann de la ciudad de Guayaquil que da atención ambulatoria aproximadamente a un promedio de 147.464 por año, con promedio de hospitalización anual de 3.096 de una población infantil procedente de todas las regiones del país; de los diagnósticos positivos coproparasitoscópicos encontramos una gran incidencia de poliparasitismo intestinal. La amebiasis ocupa el tercer lugar después de la ascaridiasis y giardiasis. De ellos el 65% eran portadores sanos, con prevalencia en edad escolar, produciendo en los sintomáticos predominantemente diarrea, dolor abdominal y anemia moderada
