    NewSociRank: Recognizing and Ranking Frequent News Topics Using Social Media Factors

    Mass media sources such as news media used to inform us of daily events before. Now a day, unlike news media, social media services like Twitter provide a huge amount of user-generated data, which contain informative news-related content. For these resources to be useful, we need to find a way to filter the noise and capture only the content based on its similarity to the news media. However, even after noise is removed, information overload may still exist in the remaining data-hence, it is convenient to prioritize it for consumption. To achieve prioritization, the information must be ranked in order of estimated importance considering three factors. First, the media focus(MF) of a topic, the temporal prevalence of a particular topic in the news media. Second, user attention (UA), the temporal prevalence of the topic in social media. Last, the interaction between the social media users who mention this topic indicates the strength of the community discussing it, and can be regarded as the user interaction (UI) toward the topic. We propose an unsupervised framework�NewSociRank�which recognizes the news topics prevalent(common) in both social media and the news media, and then ranks them by relevance(popularity) using their degrees of MF, UA, and UI

It has been seen that there is no automated system/software for analyzing the mental ability of a person. A survey depending on student�s age is done which consists of scenario based questions and categorization (weak, average or bright) is done based on that. Once categorized, mind education strategies can be incorporated. The methodologies used can be reading comprehension on motivational articles, role play, various group activities, visit to rehabilitation centers, prison, hospital etc. After completing every task, the student has to report their experience. Once they complete all the tasks, assessment can be done by providing task on �how they tackle the given situation�. By this the change in students are noticed and suggestions are provided

    Simulative Investigations on Different Shapes of Antenna

    The goal of this thesis is to design and analysis the Microstrip patch antenna with different shapes which covers the Ultra Wide Band 2.42 GHz frequency. This thesis covers study of basics and fundamentals of microstrip patch antenna. How the different characteristics of the antenna depend on its various geometrical and other parameters, a series of parametric study were done to find it. The various geometrical parameters of the antenna are the dimensions of the patch and the dimensions of the ground planes and the separation between them. It also includes the dielectric constant of the substrate material. The parametric study also includes the study of different shapes to optimize the different parameters of antenna to get the optimum results and performance. This is a simulation based study. The design and simulation of the antenna is carried out using MATLAB (matrix laboratory) software which is a multi paradigm numerical computing environment and a high performance language for technical computing. In this paper, return loss curve, antenna gains, 3d pattern, directivity, azimuth pattern, elevation pattern and the far field results are shown for all the designed antennas. Various results reflect the good antenna performance in the UWB range of frequency. Then the effects of varying the parameters of the antenna on its performance are investigated and shown. In now a days it is essential for an antenna designed for a system to avoid the interference from the other existing wireless system. Effect of desired parameter modifications are observed, analyzed and plotted. All the design antennas are fabricated on an inexpensive dielectric substrate air with relative permittivity (?_r) of 1 with thickness of 0.006 mm. The simulation results of different shapes of microstrip antennas indicate that the proposed rectangular microstrip patch antenna achieve the more gain and directivity as compare to another two shapes (circular and triangular

Internet of Things is going to play a vital role in applications such as smart home, smart cities, Industrial internet, healthcare systems etc. In this paper, we are presenting the module developed for controlling fan speed based on room temperature and also accessing temperature remotely through cloud. Temperature of the room can be sensed by using DHT11 temperature sensor. If the temperature is low then fan rotates slowly and vice-versa. Temperature of a particular room can be found from anywhere using DHT11 sensor and hosting on cloud. The proposed approach is accurate in terms of processing time, less circuit size, no external clock required and programming an arduino is easy when compared to 8051 micro processor. The developed approach is benefited in terms of preventing the waste of energy when it is not hot enough to use a fan and assist the disabled to switch on or off fan automatically. Experimental evaluation shows that the proposed approach is accurate and also takes less time
