    Challenges In Implementing One Health Approaches In Nepal

    Background: The prioritization of the One Health approach remains lacking in countries like Nepal, where the urgency to tackle this issue has yet to be acknowledged. It is imperative to incentivize rural farmers to enhance the well-being of their crops and livestock for the sake of fostering truly sustainable agriculture. This approach not only aligns with economic sensibility but also paves the way for a more enduring and resilient economy in the long run. By disseminating knowledge about One Health and executing the One Health National Strategy, Nepal stands to enhance its overall health landscape and set a precedent for other South Asian nations. Beyond immediate financial gains, stakeholders including farmers, policymakers, and consumers must adopt a forward-thinking perspective, integrating the One Health approach into their practices to facilitate a sustainable developmental trajectory. Research methods encompassed a thorough examination of One Health publications and the collection of data via a structured questionnaire administered during field visits, supplemented by telephone interviews with participants. The lessons gleaned from the COVID-19 pandemic underscore the significance of addressing health crises stemming from zoonotic diseases—those originating in animals and transferring to humans. Prioritizing the reinforcement of preparedness and response capabilities in rural settings, devising contingency plans, diversifying agricultural produce, investing in eco-friendly farming techniques, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices are pivotal for empowering communities to better withstand future adversities and uncertainties

    Inventory Of Aranea Fauna In Two Agricultural Fields At Bouira Region (Algeria)

    This work is a study of spider‘s biosystemsmatic in two vegetable growing stations: Red Crete and El-Asnam at Bouira region. The spiders are trapped by two methods: Barber traps and capture by hand. 630 individuals of spiders were identified, 204 of them were sampled by hand capture and 226 captured by the Barber pots. Trapped spiders are classified into 20 families. The results show the abundance of the Lycosidae family at both stations, with AR% = 63.77% in Red Crete and AR% = 41.61% in El-Asnam. At the Red Crete, the Lycosidae are followed by the Salticidae with AR % = 17.95%, and the Gnaphosidae with AR %= 11.97%. At El-Asnam the Gnaphosidae are represented with AR% = 21.84%, they are followed by Salticidae and Clubionidae with AR% = 11.18%. The study of various indices shows that the climatic conditions, in particular the temperature are the main factors influencing the abundance of the populations of spiders in the two study stations

    In Silico Exploration Of Glyphosate\u27s Binding Affinity And Inhibitory Effects On Key Metabolic Enzymes Implicated In Type 2 Diabetes Pathogenesis

    The widespread use of glyphosate, a prominent herbicide, has raised concerns regarding its potential impact on human health, particularly in relation to metabolic disorders like Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM). This study presents an in-depth in silico exploration of glyphosate\u27s interaction with key metabolic enzymes implicated in T2DM pathogenesis, providing insights into the molecular mechanisms that might underlie glyphosate-induced metabolic dysregulation. Utilizing advanced computational modeling techniques, including molecular docking and dynamic simulations, we systematically investigated the binding affinity of glyphosate to a series of enzymes integral to glucose metabolism and insulin signaling pathways. These enzymes include glucokinase, insulin receptor, protein kinase B (Akt), and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK), among others. The study aimed to elucidate the potential inhibitory effects of glyphosate on these enzymes, thereby implicating its role in disrupting normal metabolic processes. Our results demonstrate a significant binding affinity of glyphosate to these enzymes, with binding patterns suggesting possible competitive or allosteric inhibition. The molecular docking scores indicated a strong interaction, especially with the insulin receptor and Akt, which are crucial for insulin signaling and glucose uptake. Furthermore, dynamic simulation analyses revealed conformational changes in the enzyme structures upon glyphosate binding, potentially affecting their functional activity. These findings suggest a novel mechanism by which glyphosate exposure could contribute to the development of insulin resistance, a key feature of T2DM. The study highlights the importance of considering environmental factors like herbicide exposure in the etiology of metabolic diseases. It also underscores the potential of in silico methods as powerful tools in toxicological research, enabling the prediction and analysis of biochemical interactions at a molecular level. While our study provides compelling theoretical evidence, it also emphasizes the need for experimental validation. Further research, both in vitro and in vivo, is essential to confirm the biological relevance of these findings and to understand the broader implications of glyphosate exposure on human health, particularly in the context of increasing global rates of T2D

    B.Cylindrica is used as a mangrove plant in folk medicine to cure various diseases and disorders which include tumors, blood clotting, infections, fevers, pains etc., The Present study was to isolation, purification and characterization of antibacterial compound from the leaves along with phytochemical analysis. Healthy leaves of B. cylindrica were collected from natural habitat, washed, air dried and ground into powder. The solvents, such as chloroform, ethyl acetate, ethanol, methanol, and butanol were used to extract the powdered leaves. Crude extracts were tested for phytochemical constituents like carbohydrates, glycosides, proteins, steroids, triterpenoids flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins and phenols. Antimicrobial activities for crude extracts were tested against bacteria and fungi using standard well diffusion agar plate method. The highest antibacterial activity was identified in ethyl acetate extract, which was further purified using column chromatography. Activity-guided ethyl acetate fraction contains potential compound was used for structure elucidation using LC-MS, FTIR and NMR studies. Mass spectrometry of purified compound showed major peak at 6.901 minutes with a molecular weight of 256.32 g/mol, suggesting that the compound belongs to carboxylic acid group with a molecular formula CHN2O3 when compared to LC-MS standard from the NIST library. The Pure compound from Bruguiera cylindrica showed the stretch at 2561 indicated the presence of (O-H) hydroxyl group, 3341 N- H group, a stretch at 1709 indicated the presence of C=O group. The data obtained showed the presence of nitrogen containing amine, amide and carboxylic acid functional groups 7-(dimethylamino)-3ethyl-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo(4.2.0)-oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid with a molecular formula CHN2O3. Based on 1H NMR spectrum and database of NIST, purified fraction was identified as 7-(dimethylamino)-3ethyl-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo(4.2.0)-oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid. The results show that B cylindrica contains significant phytochemical and antibacterial activity against tested bacteria and fungi that helps to scientifically understand potentiality of tribal medicine

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPRs) have special functions in the soil that improve the health and productivity of plants. PGPR produce phytohormones, fix atmospheric nitrogen, colonize the rhizosphere, aid in the production of secondary metabolites, shield plants from pathogens, produce siderophores, and aid in the uptake of nutrients by solubilizing phosphate. They also produce biologically active substances that have an impact on the development and growth of plants. In the present investigation, the fungicidal activities of Streptomyces sp., the significant PGPRs were screened for antifungal activities while an Entomopathogenic fungi (Baeuveria bassiana) was utilized for production of crude metabolites which were utilized to prepare Silver fused nanoparticles, the nanoparticles were found to have significant insecticidal/pesticidal properties against larvae invading Cauliflower crops

    Fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities is contained in Makassar City Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2013. It contains the fulfillment of the rights to equal opportunities in employment, business and information. In this research, we want to see how the policy for fulfilling the rights to equal opportunities for people with disabilities is evaluated in Makassar City. There are several problems in Makassar City related to fulfilling the rights of people with disabilities, one of which is that access to employment for people with disabilities is still very limited, and also people with disabilities are considered not to be potential workers due to the lack of information received by companies, especially in Makassar City. This research uses a qualitative approach which refers to efforts to study social life through various dimensions of actions and circumstances. Qualitative research is used to capture and reveal facts from research descriptively, starting with an analysis of the policy context to evaluating policies for fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities in Makassar City, and exploratively, then it will be analyzed from the perspective of the theory of monitoring policy results by William N. Dunn to clearly reveal the government\u27s policy evaluation regarding the fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities. Based on the research process, it can be concluded that the implementation of the policy for fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities in Makassar City has not run optimally when viewed from four assessment points based on Dunn\u27s theory, namely compliance, inspection, accounting and explanation. Specifically what is discussed in the theoretical basis is the policy for persons with disabilities which includes the fulfillment of the right to equal opportunities including employment, business and information

    Background: Lymphomatoid granulomatosis (LG) is a rare lymphoproliferative disease predominantly affecting extranodal sites, characterized by its angiocentric lymphoma nature and a notable affinity for blood vessels. Objective: To highlight the clinical and radiographic features of LG, emphasizing its primary pulmonary involvement. Methods: A case report of a 69-year-old male presenting with distinct radiographic findings via conventional chest radiography (XR) and computed tomography (CT). Results: The patient exhibited multiple bilateral cavitated nodular lesions in both XR and CT scans. Despite the diagnostic challenges and a grim clinical course, the disease was confirmed as LG post-mortem. Conclusion: Recognizing LG\u27s distinctive pulmonary manifestations within an appropriate clinical context is pivotal for early diagnosis and intervention, albeit with a median survival of approximately 2 year
