GROWTH AND YIELD OF CAYENNE PEPPER PLANTS (Capsicum frutescens l.) ON BOKASHI PLANTING MEDIA AND SOIL MIXTURE WITH BURNT HUSK
Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is an important vegetable, especially in tropical and subtropical areas. Bokashi is an organic fertilizer produced by fermenting organic materials with the help of EM4. This is a mixed culture of various types of beneficial microorganisms, namely lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, Actinomycetes, Streptomycetes sp., and yeast. Bokashi application is very useful for improving soil properties, both physical, chemical, and biological. This research aims to determine the effect of bokashi fertilizer doses on the growth and production of cayenne pepperand determine the right dosage for the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plants. (Capsicum frutescens L.). This research was carried out by Sambaliung District, from February to May 2021.The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, namely the dose of bokashi fertilizer (P) with 10 replications, namely: P0 = 0% bokashi and 100% soil mixture with burnt husks; P1 = 25% bokashi and 75% soil mixture with burnt husks; P2 = 50% bokashi and 50% mixture of soil and roasted husks; and P3 = 75% bokashi and 25% soil mixture with burnt husks. Data analysis uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and if there is a significant difference then it will be continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at a rate of 5%. The results showed that the doses of bokashi and roasted husks were not significantly different when observing the number of leaves in the first week, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, production, flowering time, maturity, and fruit length. P3 treatment gave the highest results, namely 337 g plant-1
Aspergillus niger, Neurospora sp. AND Rhizopus sp. AS AN ANTAGONISM FUNGI IN INHIBITING THE GROWTH OF LASIODIPLODIA THEOBROMAE (SRIKAYA FRUIT ROT PATHOGEN)
Srikaya fruit rot disease (Annona squamosa L.) is the main problem that affects the fruit when it is on the tree and after harvest. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out environmentally friendly alternative controls. Exophytic fungi such as Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus sp. provided high inhibition against Lasiodiplodia theobromae (srikaya fruit rot pathogen) of 80.71 ± 1.07% and 82.92 ± 0.50%, respectively. Meanwhile, the best endophytic fungus that is able to inhibit the growth of pathogens is Neurospora sp. and Aspergillus sp. with respective inhibition of 86.67 ± 3.14% and 88.35 ± 0.46% in vitro. In vivo test results showed that the fungi A, niger and Aspergillus sp. the best inhibition of each is 100%
ALTERATIONS IN LIPID PROFILE OF NORMAL MALE WISTAR RATS ADMINISTERED AQUEOUS EXTRACTS OF PHOENIX DACTYLIFERA,CYPERUS ESCULENTUS,SOYBEAN AND LIQUID COD-LIVER OIL
This research study was designed to determine changes in lipid profile of normal male wistar rats subjected to daily oral administration of 1000mg/kg phoenix dactylifera, 1600mg/kg Cyperus Esculentus, 1000mg/kg soybean aqueous extracts and 0.5ml liquid cod liver oil for five weeks. The lipids profile analyzed in this study includes total serum cholesterol, triglyceride, high density, low density, and very low density lipoproteins using enzymatic point millimoles and precipitant methods measured in mill moles per liter. Other parameters examined are weight measurement in grams and fasting blood sugar level in millimoles per liter respectively. Results: The result from this study shows an increase in serum total cholesterol (4.10mmol/l), triglyceride (1.71mmol/l), HDL (1.78mmol/l) and low density lipoprotein (3.09mmol/l) compared with the control group. There was an increase in LDL among the test groups except in group 4 that received 1000mg/kg extract of soybean having a decrease of 2.08mmol/l compared with control (2.22mmol/l). A non-significant decrease in very low density lipoprotein was also observed among the test groups except in grop2 (0.73mmol/l) compared with the control (0.70mmol/l). More findings from this study revealed a very strong positive correlation between serum total cholesterol versus other lipoproteins and between HDL versus other lipid parameters examined. Further observation from this study indicate a decrease in weight among the test groups at the end of the 5ͭᵗͪ week of the study compared with week one and the control. The FBS level was significantly decreased among the entire test group that received the aqueous extract of Cyperus Esculentus and phoenix dactylifera. Conclusion: The aqueous extract of phoenix dactylifera and Cyperus Esculentus significantly and effectively reduces the weight, fasting blood sugar and triglyceride levels with an inverse increase in the concentration of good cholesterol (HDL) needed for the maintenance of cardiovascular health status among study groups
Bacterial vaginosis and risk factors: A cross-sectional study among women at Soa District Hospital, Cameroon
Bacterial vaginosis is the most prevalent genital infection, characterized by malodorous vaginal discharge, and has arisen as a public health concern due to its link to sexually transmitted illnesses. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence rate of bacterial vaginosis due to Gardnerella species and the risk factors related to this infection in childbearing women at the Hospital of District of Soa. A questionnaire was administered before each vaginal swab sample was obtained. Bacterial vaginosis was classified as a Nugent score of 7 to 10, and the presence of clue cells. The findings were as follows: 210 women were enrolled in this study. The average age was 29.42±5.15 years, with extremes ranging from 18 to 48years. The age group with the highest representation (38.67%) was 26-33 years. The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was 42.85% (90/210), with Gardnerella species present at 90% (81/90) and Mobiluncus species present at 3.33%. The 18-25 age group was more susceptible to bacterial vaginosis due to Gardnerellas pecies (35.80%), although the student group was the most affected (32.09%), and the difference was not statistically significant. With a prevalence of 44.44%, the single group was statistically significantly more exposed to this vaginal infection than the other groups. University-level women had a higher prevalence rate of bacterial vaginosis due to Gardnerella species infection (54.32%), followed by secondary-level women (37.03%). Gardnerella speciesvaginosis was found in both pregnant and non-pregnant women (38.27% and 61.72%, respectively). To avoid future obstetric difficulties, this infection must be effectively managed therapeuticall
A hermeneutic content analysis of the nexus between the Lesotho Curriculum and Assessment Policy and Lifelong learning competencies
In today’s economy, the economic growth, development and progress of a country and civilisation are subject to investment in people, to the increased role of education as well as LLL and improving educational and employment policies. This study sets to explore the nexus between the Lesotho Curriculum and Assessment policy and lifelong competencies. The study was conducted qualitatively through content analysis of the Curriculum and Assessment Policy of Lesotho and Lifelong competencies as defined by the European Union (2019). The findings showed that all the competencies are catered for by the CAP’s curriculum aims of secondary education. However, striking to notice is the fact that the competencies are manifested in varying degrees. Aim one caters for six out of eight competencies, followed by aim two with five competencies, aim five with four competencies and aims six and four tying at three competencies. Trailing behind is aim three which appears only in one competence. It is recommended that further research needs to be done to investigate whether the secondary education subjects, drawn from and on CAP in Lesotho, truly align with the curriculum secondary education aims as well as LLL competencies

ABSTRACT
Through the socio-historical, anthropological, and cultural framework of Rwanda, this work addresses the theme of African history from the perspective of the West, focusing specifically on the history of Rwanda as depicted in the works of Scholastique Mukasonga. The writer's projectaims to demonstrate the depth of social and cultural unease produced by the Western discourse on Rwandan history and the genocide of the Tutsis. The identity deconstruction propagated by the establishment of classifications through colonial discourse following the theory of Hamiticideology had, as its initial consequence, the identity expropriation of the Tutsis. Indeed, Hamiticideology evolved into a racial ideology implementing ethnic division that seeks to define a society based on genetics. Consequently, this biological construction of categories allowed for the political manipulation and division of the Rwandan population. Scholastique Mukasonga, a genocide survivor, denounces this identity and racial segregation while providing her testimony. Writing becomes for the author a means to transpose history through literary text while engaging in a process of resilience. Writing the unspeakable, putting words to traumatic experiences, and attempting to express the unspeakable is, for the author, a duty of remembrance for her community.
Thus, this work aims to be a reflection on the impact of the Western gaze in shaping a distorted imaginary of Rwandan history, involving the dehumanization of the Tutsis. It highlights the role of the writer in the quest for and reconstruction of identity while questioning the place (orfuture) of "literary testimony" in the production of knowledge in Africa and the understanding of African societie
