An Improved Model for the Evaluation of Search Engine Result Pages Using Hybridized Evaluation Techniques

    Get PDF
In this paper, the hybridised ranking system was developed by utilising WPR to evaluate the structural importance of web pages by assigning values to both the incoming and outgoing links and also other web pages it is connected to while incorporating CTR metrics to account for user activities and TF-IDF to reduce the weight of commonly used words by assigning lower values to words that appear in many documents hence combining both to measure content relevance.  The hybridised approach is compared with the standard PageRank (PR) using the sum of WPR, CTR and TF-IDF metrics for position ranking with 50 randomly selected query datasets which were ranked into less relevant (LR) and most relevant (MR) positions.  The hybridised approach reduced irrelevant pages by reshuffling the less relevant pages to the bottom of the list of web pages found while moving the more relevant pages to the top for the given queries, thereby improving the ranking efficiency of the search engine result pages. In Table 4.1, the process of ranking the 1st, 2nd,7th and 8th document for the PageRank is moved to the 23rd 24th 25th and 26th position based on their relevance to the queried data while the 3rd, 4th,5th and 6th document maintained a high position based on their relevance. In Table 4.2, the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th documents were reshuffled to the 7th 8th 9th and 10th positions while the 6th 7th and 8th documentsmaintained a high-ranked position due to their relevance. This study has provided a scalable framework that enhances user experience by minimising irrelevant search results and prioritising pages of higher relevance

    Get PDF
This study is on the analysis and modeling of intelligent channel allocation techniques in mobile communication systems where different channel allocation techniques were considered in mobile communication systems. Also, the different channels which are used in the cellular networks were sufficiently described. Various parameters in mobile communication system that are related to channel allocation techniques and blocked calls were identified and discussed. Data collection was carried out from the Network Switching Center of a highly established and reputable Telecommunication Operator. Data were collected both from the Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), the Base Station Controller (BSC) and the Mobile Switching Centre (MSC), at different locations in Nigeria. These data were collected at different times on monthly basis for a period of thirty six (36) months in the course of this study. Proteus software was used to analyze data collected to enhance the simulation set up. A model (GRACE MODEL) of intelligent channel allocation technique algorithm was developed to reduce the call blocking and also call dropping probability. To authenticate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the simulation result was demonstrated respectively showing normal capacity; over capacity; rerouting to neighbouring sector, e.t.c. It was observed that with the use of the proposed channel re-assignment strategies algorithm, the radio coverage at large distances had more increase in the system channel capacity. It was also observed that the blocked calls (the chance that a call will have no service) were highly reduced due to intelligent philosophy in the developed model. Additionally, the model helped to scale up performance and provided great improvement in network spectral and energy efficiency

Companies try to maximize their gains and minimize their risks in real-case scenarios. This article reveals best managerial practices to elucidate how to resolve this stalemate by presenting this descriptive and single case study

Generalization of h-Torsion and Curvature Structures in Generalized Recurrent Space of Third Order by Cartan Covariant Derivatives

    Get PDF
In this research, we explore the generalized h-Torsion and curvature structures in Finsler spaces, specifically within the framework of the generalized Uₕ-TRFₙ tensor field. By deriving various expressions for these tensors, we reveal the relationships between the generalized h-Torsion tensor and Cartan’s curvature tensor. This paper extends the generalized Uₕ-Trirecurrent Finsler space. Furthermore, we obtain some relationships among different curvature tensors by using Cartan’s connection parameter Γⁱₖₕ. The results contribute to the understanding of torsion and curvature in higher-order Finsler spaces and may provide insights into advanced differential geometry and its applications in theoretical physics
