Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk, Albertinia, Hessequa
The first Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk in Albertinia was built in 1904 and was later rebuilt in 1952. In the high tower hangs a bell that carries some decorations but no information on the founder nor on the founding date. The crown of the bell is formed by 6 hooks where each hook carries an image of an angel’s face. Below the shoulder figures a nice band of leaves. The only further decorations are two moulding wires above the knee and two on the lip. One can discover a few letters on the inside of the yoke of the bell. They are …EINE CID. On the outside of the yoke are also a few letters that might be CLARK. We can however be sure about the date of the installation of the bell. On a small plate on the yoke one can read Geskenk deur Mnr en Mevrou Can. W. van Wyk 1952. Since the church was reopened in 1952, the bell was installed simultaneously with that event
