But after his death his popularity has kept increasing, and now he is universally acclaimed as one of the greatest Urdu poets. Many critics and admirers have been explaining and elucidating the poetical characteristics and merits of his verses. In this paper the thesis has been put forward that one of the basic reasons for the popularity of his poetry is that he uses the finest techniques of storytelling and shorty story writing in his verses.The finest of his couplets are indeed an example of narrating a story in the best poetical way, using the traditional characters of the Ghazal and employing the symbolic and metaphoric technique

On account of these steps, exploitation of the local population occurred. Only a few of the Pakistani novelists have touched this subject and Ali Akbar is one of such novelists. In this article under discussion, with reference to Ali Akbar Natiq’s novel “Naulakhi Kothi”, it has been mentioned how the novelist has displayed the scenes of the exploitation of the local people and how the vices of the colonial system have been brought out. No full textMagazines and journals have played an important role in the development and promotion of Urdu language.Numerous magazines and journals were issued from all over the country.The 19th century has been the most important century for Urdu journalism.Beside English and Persian newspapers,the first Urdu newspaper came to light in 1822.Many papers and magazines came out in imitation of it.The magazine of Anjuman e Kasur "Risala" is an important link in this chain.This magazine" Risala"spoke well about the goals of the association"Anjuman e Kasur".This magazine also published the essays and articles by famous and important personalities like Muhammad Hussain Azad, Sir Syed Ahmed khan, Altaf Hussain Hali etc.Apart from literary, scientific and historical aspects,this magazine also published the proceedings of Anjuman e Kasur association.The first issue of the "Risala" appeared in 1874 and is traced back to 1889. This magazine also played an important role in promoting the aims of Sir Syed movement

No full textThe Tradition of Tasawuf was actually a way to understand the subtle realities of life. It was a system of thinking and practicing a way of life and worship which transcended the dogmas and narrow rituals of different religions. It explains the ultimate realities of life, existence and the God in a way which also accommodated the religious norms of Islam. A large number of Khanqahs came into existence which helps the disciples to follow the path of Irfan, or oneness with the ultimate reality. This tradition also permeated in the poetry of the times since its suited the untraditional thinking of the poets. In Urdu Poetry since its beginning to the present times has been a favoured vehicle of Sufi and Mystical ideas and Ideals. No full textTranslating into another language, keeping in view all the technicalities of both the languages, is indeed a hard nut to crack. Prof. Dr. Ali Nihad Tarlan was quite at home by practicing the art of translation. He was an acknowledged authority regarding Turkish and Persian languages. His rich knowledge of Persian, made it easier for him to translate the magnanimous works of Persian poets as Nafi and Fazooli etc into Turkish language. After the establishment of Pakistan that Mr. Bashir Ahmed, the first Pakistani ambassador to Turkey, brought Dr. Nihad closer to Iqbal’s work. And the establishment of “Turkiye Pakistan kultur ceymeti” provided him even more opportunities to comprehend Iqbal’s writings. As he had translated the books of many Persian poets, he did the same with Iqbal’s poetical works. Dr. Nihad embarked on this task in 1956 "sarktan Haber " was his first translation, followed by many, in fact except “Javed Nama”. No full text"Jafar Tahir is considerd one of those few poets of urdu literature who are the emblem of some genre of lliterature. There is no remarkable tradition of writing cantos before him. Jafar Tahir achieves such an excellence in writing Cantos that no one is at par with him, neither from his predeccesors nor from his successors. Althogh N.M. Rashid also wrote some Cantos but no one can equal Jafar Tahir in this regard. Most of the critics' opnion on Jafar's poetry is mainly impressionistic, that they have just treated him as a poet of Cantos and they have not bothered to look at his excellent work in 'Ghazal' and 'Nazam'. Jafar Tahir's work has been published in the most prestigious literary editions of his age.
