The essence of the civilization and culture(s) of this area is based on an inseprable mixture of civilizations of Dravadians, Aryans, Sakas, Persians, Greeks, Kushans, Hans, Arabs, Turks, Afghans, Mughals and Europeans, who came here at different times. However, unfortunately, the most part of written history of this area is eclipsed by sectarianism, partisanship and so-called religious and racial sense of superiority. The history of Lahore is no exception to this cycle of biased historiography. The essay aims at the study of gardens, a very important reflection of the culture in Lahore with reference to the Maharaja Ranjeet Singh's period. The author has tried his best to not let popular view point, limiting ideological chains and uncritical thinking hinder reaching conclusions, based on objectivity and neutrality
