Spatial distribution and structural characteristics of Imorona-Itsindro suite in Ambatofinandrahana district, Madagascar
The principal aim of this study is to map the lithology of the Imorona-Itsindro suite and to constrain the tectonic framework of the Ambatofinandrahana district in the Itremo group using the combination of maximum likelihood classification, petrographic analysis, and structural data. Supervised classification successfully delineated distinct magmatic formations within the Imorona-Itsindro suite, revealing their spatial distribution and compositional heterogeneity. Petrographic observations from thin sections corroborated these units by revealing distinctive mineralogical features. Structural analyses further demonstrated a transpressional tectonic regime, characterized by ENE-WSW shortening and WNW-ESE trending strike-slip faults and associated shear zones. These structures accommodated strain through a combination of horizontal shortening and lateral movement, suggesting syn-magmatic deformation influenced by regional tectonics during the final stage of the amalgamation of Gondwana
Institutional Regimes, Global Value Chains, and the Sectoral Orientation of FDI: A Comparative Study of China, India, and Brazil?
This study investigates the long-term and short-term determinants of sectoral foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in three major emerging economies: China, India, and Brazil, over the period 2016–2024. Utilizing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) modeling framework, the analysis integrates institutional quality, global value chain (GVC) participation, macroeconomic variables, and trade openness to evaluate their differential effects on FDI dynamics. Panel unit root and bounds cointegration tests confirm the presence of long-run relationships in China and India, while Brazil exhibits weaker and less consistent linkages. The long-term estimations reveal that strong institutions and deeper GVC integration significantly enhance FDI inflows, particularly in China and India. Short-run results also highlight the relevance of macroeconomic stability, especially low inflation and sustained growth. The findings underscore the critical role of tailored institutional reform, strategic GVC positioning, and trade policy in shaping investment attractiveness. This study contributes to the literature by offering a comparative institutional perspective on sectoral FDI behavior in emerging markets and provides actionable insights for policymakers seeking to leverage FDI for sustainable development
Differentiated education for poverty reduction: microeconomic data analysis in Benin
The poverty analysis and the education’s effects on poverty is the subject of numerous studies in the literature, but in general, the literature remains less extensive on the education effects on particular aspects such as depth and severity of poverty. The objective of this paper is to analyze the effect of the household head's education’s level on the depth and severity of household poverty in Benin. To this end, basing on data from the 2018-2019 ‘Harmonized Survey on Living Conditions of Households in Benin’, using education level as interest’s variable, a poverty depth model is estimated respectively on poor households, on the poorest households and on the least poor households, controlling for selection bias. Similarly, a poverty severity model is estimated on all poor households, with control for selection bias. The results show that, beyond the positive effect of education on the poverty gap of households in general, the need for education to reduce the distance of the poor from the poverty line differs according to poverty class. Similarly, access to upper secondary education for the poorest of the poor is necessary to break pockets of extreme poverty
Economic growth and pollution in the ECOWAS region: An application of the PSTR model
The destruction of the ozone layer through the release of greenhouse gases (GHG) into the atmosphere, leading to global warming, is one of the most serious environmental threats posed by anthropic activities. The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution in the countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), using the Kuznets Environmental Curve (KEC) and calculating decoupling indices. The econometric estimates are based on the Panel Smooth Threshold Regression (PSTR) model and cylindrical panel data covering the period from 1996 to 2021. Analysis of the decoupling indices reveals that no ECOWAS country is in a situation of recoupling, either from one period to the next, or over the entire study period. The estimation results indicate a non-linear relationship between the economic development indicator and the environmental indicator, and a threshold at which energy consumption, population density, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and trade openness significantly increase carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in ECOWAS countries. These results suggest that economic growth objectives should be accompanied by adaptation measures, and that attention should be paid to the quality of FDI and to the migration of industries

The current study aims to analyze the direct impact of green employment on the organizational behaviors of employees at Al Hayat Pharmaceutical Industries, including their commitment to environmental goals, level of interaction among employees, and overall job performance. The study seeks to explore the extent of the company's commitment to green employment policies and how this commitment is reflected in work culture, as well as its effect on raising environmental awareness within the organization. Additionally, the research addresses the obstacles and challenges the company may face in adopting green employment practices, such as financial, structural, and cultural challenges within the workplace. The study adopts a descriptive analytical approach, utilizing a questionnaire to collect data from a sample of 53 individuals. Results indicate that green employment serves as an effective tool in promoting certain aspects of organizational behavior, particularly organizational citizenship and loyalty. Furthermore, the findings highlight that adopting sustainable employment practices contributes to fostering belongingness and commitment to environmental behaviors among employees, thereby supporting a culture of sustainability within the organization. Despite the lack of a strong statistical significance of green employment on organizational commitment, the study confirmed the role of environmental policies in building positive and supportive relationships between employees and management. The study recommends that the company continue to develop its environmental programs and strengthen green employment policies as part of its strategy to achieve corporate sustainability, thereby improving employee performance and enhancing the company’s reputation as an environmentally responsible workplace

The Digital Shift in Moroccan SMEs: Navigating Between Digitization, Digitalization, and Digital Transformation
This article highlights the difference between digitization, digitization and digital transformation of Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises By conducting an in-depth survey of scientific publications and various official documents, this study highlights a serious lack of awareness of these notions among Moroccan SMEs. This is wrong on many levels and some organizations mistake simple digital initiatives like document scanning or social media use for some measure of overall digital transformation and miss the opportunity to fully embrace measurable, meaningful and sustainable digital evolution.
The findings emphasize the disembodied and superficial condition of Moroccan SMEs' digital adoption based on misconceptions, resource limitations, and the dearth of technological expertise. This misalignment (of consumable data) leads to missed innovation and eventually lower competitiveness and inefficiency, throughout the organizational processes. By contrasting them with the relative global best practices and academic definitions, the study offers a broad spectrum regarding the digital readiness of the Moroccan SMEs as well as constraints hindering their digital transformation.
Our findings contribute to the evolving, inter-cycle literature of SME digital transformation in developing economies, as well as broadening the conceptual understanding of the economic and organizational consequences of digital illusions. Its goal is to help raise the awareness of the policy-makers and professionals on the urgent relevance of targeted intervention to bridge these gaps so that Moroccan SMEs can thrive in an increasingly digital global market
