THE INFLUENCE OF SOWING TIME, SOWING DISTANCE AND FERTILIZATION ON LEAF SHARE IN GREEN FODDER YIELD OF RED CLOVER (Trifolium pratense L.)
In the investigated area, corn silage and hay meadows are dominated by voluminous fodder. Farmers who grew alfalfa were not satisfied with the yield and length of use, as this was mainly used for 2 years. The reason for such a short use of alfalfa is probably the acidity of the soil in which it was grown. On the contrary, farmers who grew red clover were more satisfied with the production and were mostly used for three years. In the area of Northeast Bosnia, the agro-technology of cultivation of the red clover is based on sowing in the spring (April), fertilization of NPK 15:15:15 and sowing manually according to the milk producer’s survey on the cultivation of fodder crops and the applied agro-technology. Red clover could be classified in the second place after the quality of the fodder, behind the alfalfa. The share of leaf mass in the yield of red cloves is a very important factor of yield and quality. The goal of the research was to determine the extent to which the change in the red clover cultivation system (sowing time, intermediate sowing distance and the application of different quantities and combinations of NPK fertilizers) influences the proportion of leaf mass in the yield of red clover feed. The results of the research can provide a significant scientific and practical contribution to the improvement of the red clover cultivation in the agro-ecological conditions of northeastern Bosnia, as a very important component in ensuring quality of livestock feed. This research will provide an answer to the question of choosing agro-technics and fertilization systems in order to produce better quality of red clover of whose main factor is the share of the leaf in the yield, as well as achieving higher yields per unit area
Ethno Botany and Nutritional Status of Some Edible Plants of South Odisha, India
The present paper reports ethno botanical use and nutrient analysis of 16 edible plants of South Odisha under 15 genera and 16 species. Various ethnic groups and rural people consume 12 wild species, 2 cultivated species and 2 species that are wild as well as cultivated. The taxa include 10 dicotyledonous species under 10 genera and 10 families while monocot includes 6 species under 5 genera and 5 families. The edible plant species include 9 herbs, 2 twiners and 5 tree species. Most of these plants are used by the tribal people at the time of food scarcity. Analysis of nutritive value such as crude protein, total sugar, total lipid, vitamin B1 and vitamin C content of edible plants revealed that leafy vegetable Moringa oleifera (6.6%) showed highest crude protein and highest total lipid (0.013mg g-1) content while tuber of Dioscorea oppositifolia (30.8%) showed highest total sugar content. Highest vitamin B1 is shown by leafy vegetable Glinus oppositifolius (0.0015 mg g-1). Fruit plant Phyllanthus emblica (5.16 mg g-1) showed highest vitamin C content. Some of these edible plants may be used as food security, economic growth as well as medicine that are required in small quantity to cure some of the diseases the tribal people suffer from. Suggestion has been made for improvement, conservation of these edible plants for future potential.  
Musculo-Skeletal Disorders (MSDs) Risk Assessment among Goldsmiths by Using RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) Method
The Gems and Jewellery sector plays a significant role in the Indian economy, contributing around 6-7 per cent of thecountry’s GDP. It also employs over 2.5 million workers. One of the fastest growing sectors, it is extremely export orientedand labour intensive. Based on its potential for growth and value addition, the Government of India has declared the Gems andJewellery sector as a focus area for export promotion. The Government has recently undertaken various measures to promoteinvestments and to upgrade technology and skills to promote ‘Brand India’ in the international market. India is the largestplayer in diamond cutting and polishing and also the largest consumer of gold. A goldsmith is a metalworker who specializesin working with gold and other precious metals. Their work only seen as a cost, not as an investment and focused on ‘menu’driven training. The work is unsystematic and marginal required high skill but pays very less to the workers. Apart from thatthe worker perform task in a very awkward postures which gives invitation to many occupational disease. RUBA (RapidUpper Body Assessment) is ergonomic assessment tool useful for manual task risk assessment. The purpose of the study is tofind out the risk of MSDs and classify the risk in goldsmiths in Lohaghat city. To achieve the purpose 50 healthy malegoldsmiths were randomly selected from Lohaghat city in Champawat district of Uttarakhand. RULA was used to assess thestress of workers for all predominant postures by scoring them according to their severity of stress. The average workingpostures of the goldsmiths at their working condition (cross-legged) were analyzed by the RULA method. This was carried outwith the aid of digital photography. Video were recorded with artisan performing various task related to their work which waseventually subjected to analysis. The analysis revealed that the posture requires investigation and changes immediately. Thisindicates that the workers adopt awkward posture at their daily work process
Comparative Analysis of Socio-Economic Determinants of Rain-fed Maize Production in Jaunpur District Uttar Pradesh, India and Adamawa State, Nigeria
This present study conducted in Adamawa state and Jaunpur district has effectivelyreported the socio-economic determinants in rain-fed maize production in the areas. The majorfindings showed that rain-fed maize production was dominated by young energetic men who areliterate, well experienced and practice farming as their major occupation in the study areas. Theresults of the multiple regression analysis showed that gender, age, marital status, literacy level,farming experience and household size had positively influenced the output of maize in Adamawastate. Similarly, four variables (gender, marital status, literacy level and main occupation) of theestimated variables in Jaunpur district had positively influenced the output of rain-fed maize. Thestudy suggests the need to prioritize researches in socio-economic determinants of rain-fed maize toincrease productivity and income of farmers in the study areas.
 
YIELD GAP ANALYSIS OF COTTON PRODUCTION IN ADAMAWA STATE, NIGERIA
This study analyzed the relationship between cotton farmers output and their socio-economiccharacteristics as well as total yield gap in cotton production in Adamawa State, Nigeria. Descriptive statisticswas used to analyze the data collected from 120 cotton farmers using multi-stage sampling technique. The resultspoint out that cotton production was male dominated (91.7%), while only few of the respondents (25%) hadtertiary education with holdings ranging from 0.5 to 3 hectares. Yield of the respondents ranges from 401kg/ha to1,750kg/ha with majority (57.5%) having between 851-1300kg/ha. The study further revealed a total yield gap of942.67kg/ha in Guyuk and 1,050.91kg/ha in Demsa LGAs. The study suggested a need for awareness campaignby the state ministry of Agriculture with a view to update farmers on recommended technology practices aimed atreducing total yield gap in the study area
Prevalence and Socio-Economic Importance of Major Bovine Metacestodes in Bedele Municipal Abattoir, Southwestern Ethiopia
A cross sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence and socioeconomic importance of the major metacestodes of the cattle from November, 2016 to April2017 at Bedele municipality abattoir. Accordingly, of 550 selected slaughtered cattle, theprevalence of cysticercus bovis and Hydrated cyst was found to be 2 % (11/550) and 10.5%(58/550), respectively. Data analysis of statistical significance for the prevalence of hydatidcyst and cysticercus bovis indicates that there was no statistically significance different(P>0.05) observed among age and body condition scores. The anatomical distribution of theseparasites includes various organs. Of the total 11 cysticercus bovis cysts collected, 4 (36.4%) ofthe heart and tongue of each and 3(27.3%) of muscles are positive organs. In addition, amongthe 58 hydatid cysts collected, 42(72.4%) of them were found in lung, 9(15.5%) of them are inliver, 3(5.2%) of in kidney and 4(6.9) of in the lung and liver. Analysis between educated(P<0.02) and raw meat consumption individuals (P<0.00) but the analysis is not significantfor the latrine availability (P>0.09). During the inventory of pharmaceutical shops, it wasnoted that estimates of yearly adult taenicidal drugs dose was 7554, with a total worth of16,548.00 Eth. Birr. In conclusion, the finding of the present study revealed that the zoonoticand socio economic importance of diseases needs further attention.

Performance Evaluation of Soaked Single Pod Sowing on Growth and Yield of Groundnut
Field trial was carried out during kharif 2017 at Oilseeds Research station Tindivanam to evaluate theperformance of soaked single pods sowing in comparison with farmers practice (kernel sowing) on the growthand yield of groundnut variety (TMV 13). The experiment was carried out with 7 treatments viz., sowing of nonsoaked (dry) and soaked single pods in water with different soaking time (4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 hrs) compared withkernel sowing replicated thrice in a randomized block design. The results showed that there was a cleardifference in the treatments of water soaked single pods as compared to dry sowing of single pod and kernelsowing on field emergence, days to 50% of flowering, plant height and root length. The no. of pods/plant and podyield also higher in kernel sowing and water soaked single pods and significantly differ with the single podswithout soaking in water. 
VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION USING STEM CUTTINGS AND MICROSCOPIC CHARACTERISTICS OF CHROMOLAENA ODORATA
Stem cuttings of Chromolaena odorata obtained from wild stock plants were planted in open mist propagation system.Each stem was divided into three parts i.e. upper, middle, bottom. The length of each cutting was 11 cm. The base of eachcutting was treated with commercial powdered hormone, Seradix 2 (0.2 % IBA). These cuttings were planted in cleanedriver sand medium for seven weeks. Results showed that cuttings taken from the top part of stem produced significantlyhigher rooting percentage (90%) and root length (11.47 cm) than those of middle and basal part of stem. The stem anatomyshowed the presence of vascular bundles increase from upper to bottom parts of cuttings. However, it does not significantlyaffect the rooting formation in Chromolaena odorata as the upper part gave good rooting performance compared to others.The upper part of the stem is recommended to be used as cutting materials for future planting stocks production
A COMMUNITY BASED STUDY ON PREVALENCE OF OBESITY AND ITS RELATION WITH DIABETES AMONG ADULTS OF ALLAHABAD
The present study entitled “A community based study on prevalence of obesity and its associationwith diabetes among adults of Allahabad” aimed to find out the prevalence rate of the obesity among theselected adults, to access the nutritional status of the selected respondents, to determine relation of obesitywith diabetes was carried out in the five areas of Allahabad. A total of one hundred and fifty male andfemale sedentary respondents were randomly selected from Muthiganj, Gaughat, Arail, Mahewa, Kitganjfor the study and were personally interviewed with the help of preset schedule. The anthropometricmeasurements (Height, Weight, BMI) and biochemical test like blood glucose level that is both fasting andpost prandial using finger prick method (Urooj and Puttaraj,2000) was taken. Dietary intake (24 hoursdietary recall method) was recorded and calculated using food composition table compared with RDA(ICMR, 2010). After observation, it was found that 62 percent respondents were using their own vehicle,calorie consumption was high and fibre intake was less as compared to RDA, 53.33 percent respondentswere not doing any exercise, the prevalence rate of obesity (BMI ≥25) was 57.33 percent, 86 male andfemale respondents were found to be obese out of which 43.2 percent of the respondents were diabetic(≥140 mg/dl). All respondents were having sedentary lifestyle. Hence we can conclude that obesity is themajor cause of diabetes
