Design of automotive mechanical automatic transmission system based on torsional vibration reduction

    Get PDF
Automatic transmission system is the core part of vehicle transmission processing, which can improve driving safety. In order to improve the shift effect of automotive automatic mechanical transmission and narrow the gap between the vehicle speed and the expected speed, an automotive automatic mechanical transmission system based on torsional damping was designed in the experiment. On the basis of hardware composed of different modules and fuzzy control algorithm, the system realizes the software design of vehicle automatic mechanical transmission system. The experimental results show that when the system is applied in practice, the gear selection time of the vehicle is between 0.2 s-0.3 s, and the gear shift time is between 0.3 s-0.4 s. The gap between the vehicle speed and the expected speed, and between the vehicle speed and the expected speed is small. The practical application effect is good

Public perceptions of CCUS in Central and Eastern Europe – implications for community engagement

    Get PDF
Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) is emerging as a subject of major interest for EU climate policy due to their potential role in avoiding hard-to-abate CO2 emissions, as well as to lead to “negative emissions” through direct air capture or bioenergy with carbon capture and storage. Despite CCUS technologies being deployed since the 1970s, their widespread implementation is still challenged by a range of factors, including policy inertia, high costs, and relative novelty in the public discourse. In particular, as CCUS emerges slowly into the realm of public and political debate, opinions on these technologies and associated projects are easily changeable and affected by a range of factors, which make concerted public and community engagement extremely important for deploying them where they matter most. The Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region is characterized by a higher-than-average economic dependence on heavy industry, old assets and infrastructure, and a high occurrence of regions where the transition to climate neutrality will have a significant impact on local economies, employment, and social welfare [1]. CCUS could play an important role in decarbonizing the heavy industry sectors of the region, particularly given the potentially significant storage capabilities of countries such as Romania and Poland, as well as emerging storage potential in the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Sea. However, climate policy in these jurisdictions is sluggish, and there is a general failure to approach CCUS in a systematic way, with targeted application to sectors where it can have the highest impact, such as cement and oil refining. As a result, the public debate around CCUS is practically non-existent, and where public opinions do emerge, they may be significantly influenced by the context of a particular project and generate significant resistance based on the relationship with project developers, the amplification of perceived risks, and the lack of appropriate explanations of costs, benefits and risks. This in turn can lead to a reticence of political stakeholders to commit to deploying CCUS, causing the public debate to further stagnate and creating a vicious circle whereby opportunities to familiarize the public with these technologies (well in advance of their deployment) are missed. In order to deploy CCUS at pace and scale, as part of the catching-up climate policies of CEE countries, public perception of CCUS must be thoroughly researched and developed into appropriate guidelines for community engagement by project developers. There is experience in the region – the feasibility study for Romania’s planned Getica CCS demonstrator (subsequently abandoned) included comprehensive research into the perceptions of local communities, and a toolkit for communications around CCUS by project developers. Similarly, learnings from Poland’s failed Belchatow CCS project can serve to re-assess the state of public opinion on CCS, and how the local and national-level contexts for CCUS perceptions interact. The CEE region has significant potential for deploying CCUS, and public perception must be an integral part of planning as the region moves into the key decade of 2030-2040 for implementing large-scale projects

Transportation of hydrogen by main gas pipelines as a methane-hydrogen mixture

    Get PDF
Due to the emergence of new technologies that make it possible to obtain hydrogen from associated petroleum gas, it has become necessary to store and transport it. As a solution to this problem, the possibility of hydrogen transportation as a methane-hydrogen mixture was considered, i.e. natural gas with a certain hydrogen content. The article considers the issues of methane-hydrogen mixture (MHM) transportation through existing main gas pipelines at various percentages of hydrogen to natural gas. As an example, the Urengoyskoye field was chosen, where it is possible to produce hydrogen from the associated gas of gas condensate fields, and a section of the Novopskovskiy corridor, through which it is possible to transport MHM. In the work, the influence of the hydrogen content in the methane-hydrogen mixture on the gas-dynamic characteristics of the pipeline, mainly on the pressure and throughput capacity of gas in the pipeline, as well as the influence of its content on the operating mode of the compressor station and the power of the gas turbine, when using MHM for the station's own needs, was studied. The obtained results show an insignificant effect of the hydrogen percentage in the mixture on the pressure and throughput of the gas pipeline, which is a weighty argument in favor of the possibility of transporting hydrogen through existing gas pipelines

Influence of wheel web structure on the tight-curve short-pitch corrugation of metro

    Get PDF
Short-pitch corrugation is a common phenomenon that occurs on tight-curve rails in metro systems. However, the contributing factors of this problem are still not fully understood, and effective control measures have yet to be developed. In this study, we investigated the contributing factors of short-pitch corrugation on tight-curve rails in metro systems using the complex eigenvalue analysis method according to the theory of friction-induced vibration. We also explored control measures for short-pitch corrugation from the perspective of optimizing the wheel web structure. Our results indicate that friction-induced vibration is the primary contributing factor to short-pitch corrugation in the wheel-rail system. The shape of the web structure significantly affects rail corrugation, and compared to the straight web structure, unstable vibrations are more pronounced in the S-shape web structure. In contrast, the bow web structure can significantly improve the system stability of the wheel-rail interaction, and the greater the web curvature, the better the inhibitory effect. The wheel deformation under contact force varies with the web curvature, and when the axial deformation of the wheel extends toward the inner rail, the wheel-rail system no longer exhibits unstable vibrations. Conversely, when the axial deformation of the wheel extends toward the outer rail, the greater the deformation, the greater the instability of the wheel-rail system

Production analysis of manufacturing industry in a single vacation policy under disaster

    Get PDF
The disaster in queueing system with second optional service is considered. Arriving customer of this system will receive the essential service and optional second service if needed. When the system is interrupted by the disaster, the server initiates the repair period making all the customer leave the system immediately. The server, when idle, takes single vacation. The disaster cannot happen when server is under vacation or in repair period. The above queueing system is analysed using supplementary variable technique to obtain the probability generating function for various parameters and effects of parameters are explained graphically with numerical illustrations

Extraction and diagnosis of rolling bearing fault signals based on improved wavelet transform

    Get PDF
As the continuous growth of the machinery industry, the importance of rolling bearings as key connecting parts in machinery movement is also increasing. However, the extraction and diagnosis of rolling bearing fault signals are difficult, and how to use modern transform analysis methods to raise the extraction efficiency and diagnostic accuracy becomes the focus. For this, a rolling bearing fault signal extraction and diagnosis model is designed based on empirical wavelet transform. The diagnostic model is optimized by using support vector machine and quantum genetic algorithm to design a rolling bearing fault signal extraction and diagnosis model based on improved empirical wavelet transform-support vector machine. The test results show that the research method can obtain four component signals showing different anomalies when generating time domain diagrams. Only five component peaks are generated and one group is extracted as output when generating component peaks. The abnormal amplitude of envelope spectrum basically reaches 0.40×10-6 or above. The judgment accuracy of component diagnosis reaches 98.12%. The above results show that the research method has better fault signal extraction ability and better diagnostic accuracy when performing fault signal diagnosis, which can provide new technical support for rolling bearing fault signal extraction and diagnosis

DIC measurement method based on binocular stereo vision for image 3D displacement detection

    Get PDF
The deformation detection of large machinery is usually achieved using three-dimensional displacement measurement. Binocular stereo vision measurement technology, as a commonly used digital image correlation method, has received widespread attention in the academic community. Binocular stereo vision achieves the goal of three-dimensional displacement measurement by simulating the working mode of the human eyes, but the measurement is easily affected by light refraction. Based on this, the study introduces particle swarm optimization algorithm for target displacement measurement on Canon imaging dataset, and introduces backpropagation neural network for mutation processing of particles in particle swarm algorithm to generate fusion algorithm. It combines the four coordinate systems of world, pixel, physics, and camera to establish connections. Taking into account environmental factors and lens errors, the camera parameters and deformation coefficients were revised by shooting a black and white checkerboard. Finally, the study first conducted error analysis on binocular stereo vision technology in three dimensions, and the relative error remained stable at 1 % within about 60 seconds. At the same time, three algorithms, including the spotted hyena algorithm, were introduced to conduct performance comparison experiments using particle swarm optimization and backpropagation network algorithms. The experiment shows that the three-dimensional error of the fusion algorithm gradually stabilizes within the range of [–0.5 %, 0.5 %] over time, while the two-dimensional error generally hovers around 0 value. Its performance is significantly superior to other algorithms, so the binocular stereo vision of this fusion algorithm can achieve good measurement results

Vibration influence of different types of heavy-duty trucks on road surface damage

    Get PDF
Under the interaction of the wheels of heavy-duty trucks on the random road surface when the vehicles are travelling, their generated vibrations not only affect the driver's ride comfort but also impact the road surface damage. To assess the vibration influence of different types of vehicles on the road surface damage, three dynamic models of the two axle, three axle, and four axle of heavy trucks have been build and computed via the Matlab/Simulink software. The dynamic tire load, dynamic load coefficient, and dynamic load-stress factor are chosen to assess the friendly load of different heavy trucks under the different operating conditions of the vehicle. The obtained result indicates that the dynamics parameters including suspension system, tires, and axle load distributions of heavy trucks have a greater effect on the dynamic tire force than the total weight of the vehicle. In order to ensure the road’s safety, the traffic management should intervene quickly to give a velocity limit for vehicles under the condition of the vehicle moving with the empty loaded on the poor road surface

Vibrator with two impacting pairs, one of them in the position of equilibrium

    Get PDF
In the dynamic processes taking place in manipulators and robots, impact interactions play an important role. Among them two sided impacts are important. In this paper investigation of dynamic regimes of a system with two impacting surfaces, one of which is in the position of equilibrium is performed. Dynamics in steady state regime for typical parameters of the investigated system having one degree of freedom is investigated. Displacements as functions of time as well as velocities as functions of time for various positions of the impacting surface are presented. Non symmetric impacts enable to reduce the dimensions of the vibrator and to achieve increase of effectiveness of useful impacts of a manipulator. Investigations of the conservative system as well as of the system with forced harmonic excitation are performed

Accurate judgement of devoid damage information by 3D-Radar is an effective way of repairing damage in nondestructive pavements. In order to systematically analyse the characteristics of devoid damage under nondestructive pavements in 3D-Radar response. In this study, the 3D-Radar response to devoid damage of different sizes, locations and moisture contents was quantified by FDTD orthorectified simulations. Data acquisition of the pre-buried devoid damage on site was carried out using 3D-Radar, compared with the orthorectified simulation results and numerical analysis. The detection effect was also verified by relying on the project. The results show that the radar wave characteristics of the devoid damage are obvious. Different colour and waveform image characteristics in B-Scan in the presence and absence of water at the location; the size of the devoid also has an impact on the image characteristics. It depends on the footprints and size of the devoid. It creates “upward-convex”, “down-concave” and straight features; the presence of the devoid characteristics in the 3D-Radar mapping will enhance the confidence of the devoid identification through field tests and engineering verification
