An improved wavelet threshold function denoising method based on IGA optimization

    Get PDF
In single crystal diamond tool grinding, cutting-edge quality is affected by various parameters, with tool vibration playing a crucial role. Due to environmental factors and the complexity of the process, vibration signals are often noisy and non-stationary. This study proposes a denoising method that optimizes the wavelet threshold function using an Improved Genetic Algorithm (IGA). The method introduces a configurable value α in the wavelet threshold function, which is optimized with IGA to improve denoising. MATLAB R2018b simulations show that this approach achieves better denoising, a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and lower mean square error

Binary rat swarm optimizer algorithm for computing independent domination metric dimension problem

    Get PDF
In this article, we look at the NP-hard problem of determining the minimum independent domination metric dimension of graphs. A vertex set B of a connected graph G(V,E) resolves G if every vertex of G is uniquely recognized by its vector of distances to the vertices in B. If there are no neighboring vertices in a resolving set B of G, then B is independent. Every vertex of G that does not belong to B must be a neighbor of at least one vertex in B for a resolving set to be dominant. The metric dimension of G, independent metric dimension of G, and independent dominant metric dimension of G are, respectively, the cardinality of the smallest resolving set of G, the minimal independent resolving set, and the minimal independent domination resolving set. We propose the first attempt to use a binary version of the Rat Swarm Optimizer Algorithm (BRSOA) to heuristically calculate the smallest independent dominant resolving set of graphs. The search agent of BRSOA are binary-encoded and used to identify which one of the vertices of the graph belongs to the independent domination resolving set. The feasibility is enforced by repairing search agent such that an additional vertex created from vertices of G is added to B, and this repairing process is repeated until B becomes the independent domination resolving set. Using theoretically computed graph findings and comparisons to competing methods, the proposed BRSOA is put to the test. BRSOA surpasses the binary Grey Wolf Optimizer (BGWO), the binary Particle Swarm Optimizer (BPSO), the binary Whale Optimizer (BWOA), the binary Gravitational Search Algorithm (BGSA), and the binary Moth-Flame Optimization (BMFO), according to computational results and their analysis

Modern development of metamaterials for obtaining special electromagnetic, acoustic, mechanical and vibration-isolating properties

    Get PDF
The article presents the history of the development of metamaterials, which begins with the development of metamaterials to obtain unique electromagnetic properties. The first ideas of such materials appeared in the XIX century. Such constructions make it possible to obtain a negative permittivity, and further the “invisibility effect”. The idea of creating a material with a given microstructure also makes it possible to obtain metamaterials with a negative Poisson’s ratio, acoustic metamaterials. Separately, it should be noted that such an approach makes it possible to obtain metamaterials with negative rigidity and vibration-isolating metamaterials. The article presents the author's design of a vibration-isolating metamaterial with quasi-zero stiffness. A demonstration prototype was made

Optimizing and reliability analysis by firefly and genetic algorithms for a quadcopter

    Get PDF
Our study aims to obtain the highest level of reliability for a quadcopter, taking financial and mass limitations into account, to achieve the highest level of reliability with the lowest mass and cost. For this purpose, we first calculated the reliability and the relationships that govern it, and based on these relationships, we determined the reliability of the quadcopter subsystems. In order to achieve the highest level of reliability, we utilized optimization algorithms. It is possible to increase the reliability of a system through several methods, such as enhancing the quality of parts and components, using surplus components, improving the quality of parts and components by always using surplus components, and redesigning the system. This study examines the possibility of increasing quadcopter reliability by using additional parts and optimizing it using the firefly algorithm. Lastly, in order to validate the results obtained from the firefly algorithm, we implemented the problem once again using the genetic algorithm and compared the results obtained from both algorithms. After 20 times of running the algorithms, the optimal reliability values were 0.99925 for the firefly algorithm and 0.99999 for the genetic algorithm

Trajectory planning and control algorithm of industrial robot manipulator

    Get PDF
As the industrial robot task becomes more complex, the difficulty of trajectory planning and tracking control of manipulator is gradually increasing. To minimize the vibration during the manipulator motion and improve the planning accuracy, the method of quintic polynomial combined with non-uniform B-spline interpolation is studied for joint space (JS) planning. The trajectory tracking system is easily affected by friction nonlinearity and parameters. So a JS trajectory tracking controller based on based on fuzzy neural network (FNN) is designed. Through simulation experiments, the curve obtained by the planning method studied is smoother and the planning error is minimum. The maximum position error is 0.09 rad, and the speed error is not more than 0.1 rad/s. The controller performance test results under different parameters show that the W^, c^, κ^ parameter in FNN can be adjusted in real time, and the value will not affect the performance of the controller. The fluctuation range of trajectory error of different joints is within ±0.2×10-5rad, which indicates that the performance of AFNNC controller studied is better. And its response time is the shortest and its robustness is better when the load changes suddenly

The analysis of the destabilizing motion of a hyperbolic cooling tower during demolition blasting

    Get PDF
The destabilizing motion characteristics of the hyperbolic cooling tower in demolition blasting are thoroughly investigated through the establishment of a numerical simulation calculation model, leading to the following conclusions regarding its destabilizing motion. The tensile-compression elastic-plastic model, which possesses the characteristics of parameter modification function and independence from unit size, can more effectively capture the mechanical properties of concrete materials and find better application in the simulation and calculation research of reinforced concrete structures. The self-oscillation frequency check and collapse morphological analysis are employed to validate the accuracy of the simulation calculation model for hyperbolic cooling towers, as well as to assess the rationality of parameters in the tensile-compression elastic-plastic model. The collapse of a cooling tower induces flexural deformation in the lateral wall, tensile disturbance in the upper and middle sections of the cylinder, and compressive disturbance in the vertical cross-section. The cylinder body has incurred damage as a result of the tower wall’s front end striking the ground at the directional window position on the front side of the throat, leading to a significant extrusion deformation issue. The buckling deformation in the central and lower sections of the rear wall propagated towards the back side of the tower wall upon reaching the ground, ultimately resulting in an “inverted V-shaped” damage along the buckling deformation line. The research findings hold significant relevance for future endeavors

Applications of collaborative robots in agile manufacturing: a review

    Get PDF
Collaborative robots are machines that work hand in hand with humans; or as the name suggests, collaborate with them in a specific workspace. These robots are not enclosed in confined safety zones like traditional robots, as they interact very closely with humans. Though this is the case, appropriate measures are captivated while designing these robots considering human safety. These robots are well-versed in adapting to changes and frequent upgrades. They are flexible enough to carry out complex tasks. Due to these abilities, they become a significant asset in the manufacturing field. It’s been many years now since cobots are introduced in the industry sector. So, this is the right time to review various applications of cobots in manufacturing. First, the paper starts with a brief introduction followed by an extensive literature review which was structured after reviewing 76 research papers and articles. It ends with some essential conclusions. This paper discusses the diverse applications of cobots used in the manufacturing sector and their advantages. Further, it highlights the future of cobots and how they will be a boon for a technology-driven world

Anterior crossbite treatment using functional orthopedic appliance: a case report

    Get PDF
Anterior crossbite can affect primary, mixed, and permanent dentitions. Early treatment is recommended, as it can impact facial, aesthetic, functional, and developmental aspects. The etiology of anterior crossbite is multifactorial, including dental, skeletal, and postural origins. Treatment should be defined based on age and etiology, with various therapeutic resources available for correction. In primary dentition, direct flat tracks, different types of functional orthopedic appliances, quad-helix, and facial mask can be used. In mixed dentition, fixed segmented or continuous orthodontics, elastics, and other devices can be added to the treatment. In permanent dentition, orthognathic surgery may be indicated for adults, especially in cases of anterior crossbite associated with skeletal Class III that cannot be compensated dentally. This case report describes the treatment of early mixed dentition anterior crossbite with a functional orthopedic appliance at the Orthodontic Specialization, Postgraduate Course at Modal college, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. After correction, proper chewing functions were reestablished with ideal developmental stimuli

Gabor wavelet transform combined with area CNN in appearance intelligent detection of stayed cables

    Get PDF
The major structure for transmitting forces in a cable-stayed bridge is the stay cable. If the stay cable system fails, the whole bridge will collapse. At present, there is no very mature technical means for the detection of bridge cables. The most common method is for workers to perform regular manual inspection and replacement of cables. Although the defect condition of the cable can be detected to a certain extent, the real-time monitoring of its health cannot be realized. Therefore, the research used the median filter, mean standardization method and Retinex algorithm to preprocess the image data. And after extracting the stay cable picture’s macroscopic characteristics using the Gabor wavelet transform, it implemented image segmentation using the OTSU approach. The obtained feature images were applied to the Faster Regional Convolution Neural Network (RCNN) recognition model to detect microscopic defects. During the research, the training efficiency of traditional Convolution Neural Network (CNN) was not high. Therefore, Faster RCNN built a cable defect recognition model. Based on this, the research built an intelligent detection model for apparent defects of stay cables based on Gabor wavelet transform and improved RCNN. Through the experimental analysis, the model built for the study has a recognition accuracy rate of 94.14 %, which can achieve dynamic bridge health monitoring and instantly identify the condition of the stay cables, and maintain the safety of the bridge
