Design and analysis of folding mechanism for automotive seats based on space maximization
To solve the problem of maximizing space utilization of car folding seats within limited spatial constraints, a design method for space-maximizing four-bar folding seat hinges is proposed. First, we will investigate the existing types of car folding seats, identify the mainstream configurations, and determine the optimal position of the four-bar linkage hinge point based on the constraints present within the car using theoretical analysis methods. Secondly, kinematic and dynamic models of the four-bar linkage mechanism are established, followed by the formulation of kinematic and dynamic equations. Finally, numerical methods are employed to solve these equations and obtain the kinematic and dynamic characteristics. The results indicate that the design method proposed in the article, which aims to maximize the space of the hinge four-bar folding seat, is efficient and feasible. This approach optimizes the utilization of interior space and enhances passenger comfort while accommodating the folding function of the seat within the existing vehicle environment. This method holds significant engineering implications for the design of folding seats in similar types of vehicles

Dynamic performance of compound vibration damping device for sport fitness equipment
Composite vibration damping is a crucial aspect in enhancing the performance of shock absorber, with potential for significant application in multi-degree-of-freedom sports facilities. Based on the finite element method, the modal analysis, harmonic response analysis and stiffness analysis of metal rubber shock absorber were realized, and the parameters of natural frequency, acceleration transmissibility and average stiffness were verified. Through ABAQUS, the finite element model of shock absorber was established and reasonably simplified, and the influence of wire diameter and relative density on the comprehensive performance was studied under the condition of prestress modal analysis. The results indicate that the shock absorber with a relative density of 0.35 exhibits higher average stiffness, but lower energy dissipation coefficient. Additionally, it shows larger peak values for natural frequency and acceleration transmissibility, but reduced damping. The simulation findings are in line with the experimental results, demonstrating the accurate acquisition of nonlinear mechanics and dynamic response properties of metal rubber shock absorber
Prestressed modal and fatigue characteristic analysis of pedal machine support
To ensure the reliability and stability of the pedal machine support under prolonged operational conditions, prestressed modal analysis and fatigue characteristic analysis were conducted using the finite element method. A coupling module integrating intensity and mode was constructed and imported into Workbench via intermediate data files to facilitate grid division, material property definition, and load application. Through simulation and calculation, the first four natural frequencies and modes of the model were determined, aligning with vibration response test results. The stress field analysis showed that the maximum stress experienced by the model was 93 MPa, meeting static strength requirements. Furthermore, fatigue life and safety factor of the support frame were assessed under fatigue analysis conditions. The conclusions indicate that the structure exhibits robust safety characteristics in compliance with fatigue load requirements

Binary rat swarm optimizer algorithm for computing independent domination metric dimension problem
In this article, we look at the NP-hard problem of determining the minimum independent domination metric dimension of graphs. A vertex set B of a connected graph G(V,E) resolves G if every vertex of G is uniquely recognized by its vector of distances to the vertices in B. If there are no neighboring vertices in a resolving set B of G, then B is independent. Every vertex of G that does not belong to B must be a neighbor of at least one vertex in B for a resolving set to be dominant. The metric dimension of G, independent metric dimension of G, and independent dominant metric dimension of G are, respectively, the cardinality of the smallest resolving set of G, the minimal independent resolving set, and the minimal independent domination resolving set. We propose the first attempt to use a binary version of the Rat Swarm Optimizer Algorithm (BRSOA) to heuristically calculate the smallest independent dominant resolving set of graphs. The search agent of BRSOA are binary-encoded and used to identify which one of the vertices of the graph belongs to the independent domination resolving set. The feasibility is enforced by repairing search agent such that an additional vertex created from vertices of G is added to B, and this repairing process is repeated until B becomes the independent domination resolving set. Using theoretically computed graph findings and comparisons to competing methods, the proposed BRSOA is put to the test. BRSOA surpasses the binary Grey Wolf Optimizer (BGWO), the binary Particle Swarm Optimizer (BPSO), the binary Whale Optimizer (BWOA), the binary Gravitational Search Algorithm (BGSA), and the binary Moth-Flame Optimization (BMFO), according to computational results and their analysis
Research on stress through photoelastic experiment and finite element method considering sliding wear
Sliding contact on the contact interface of friction pairs is a common type of contact. The sliding wear caused by sliding contact has an obvious influence on the stress in the contact area. In this study, the photoelastic experiment and finite element method are adopted to study variation laws of stress in the contact area. The results show that the stress in the contact region is very concentrated, and the contact half-width gradually ascends with the increase of sliding wear. The stress intensity in the contact region and von Mises stress at the contact centre decrease with the increase of wear depth. In the case of a wear depth of less than 0.3 mm, the stress intensity and the contact stress decrease rapidly with the growth of wear depth. When the wear depth exceeds 0.3 mm, the influence of wear depth on the stress intensity and contact stress is small. The results of this research clarify the effect of sliding wear on the stress in the contact area, and provide a reference for studying the contact issues
Low-level laser therapy parameters in the treatment of Orofacial pain in temporomandibular disorder
Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) comprises a group of dysfunctions of the masticatory system involving joint, myofascial, and even sensory alterations. The main symptom of TMD is orofacial pain, which has a negative impact on the quality of life of TMD sufferers, affecting their productivity at work and school, the quality of their sleep, their appetite, and their satisfaction with life. An alternative for the treatment of TMD is the low-level laser therapy (LLLT), which stimulates cellular functions and promotes therapeutic effects. However, there is no consensus in the literature. Evaluation and design of a bite force measuring load cell
The measurement of bite force can be essential for assessing oral health and the functioning of the stomatognathic system. However, its use in dental offices is limited due to operational complexities and costs. This study focused on evaluating the mechanical strength of the user-friendly and low manufacturing cost load cell under development within LABBIO – Bioengineering Laboratory at UFMG, the gnathodynamometer, tailored for children. 3D modeling in SolidWorks and Finite Element Method (FEM) structural analysis were employed to ensure its ability to withstand the desired 1000 N load. Initially, the device did not meet the desired load, resulting in iterations to modify its geometry. After iterations including the replacement of the initial material with a more suitable alternative, removal of edges, and other adjustments, a final prototype meeting mechanical strength and functionality requirements was developed
