Construction method of strengthening shear walls using prestressed steel bars for a high-rise building
2. In the shear wall reinforcement of a high-rise residence in Changzhou, China, the prestressed steel bar reinforcement method is innovatively used. This paper focuses on the reinforcement principle and construction method of the prestressed steel bar method for strengthening the shear wall. During the construction, combined with the engineering quality problems, the prestressed steel bar method is used to strengthen the shear wall. This method avoids the reduction of the use area caused by the increasing section reinforcement method and the stress lag caused by the replacement method, does not change the structural stiffness and the shape of structural members, and shortens the construction period. After monitoring by the monitoring unit, the reinforcement method has good effect. This study also passed the acceptance of the science and technology plan project of the Ministry of construction, and formed a complete set of construction method of prestressed steel bar strengthening shear wall. The effective implementation of this method can provide technical reference for the reinforcement construction of similar projects
Threshold analysis method for aircraft avoiding convective weather
Convective weather is an important weather phenomenon that affects aircraft operation, and the determination and analysis of convective weather characteristic thresholds is the basis and premise for airspace availability analysis and aircraft diversion. This paper innovatively proposes a threshold analysis method for aircraft to avoid convective weather. Firstly, the historical meteorological data and the track data are adopted in spatiotemporal and synchronous fusion. Secondly, the K-means clustering algorithm is used to determine the characteristic threshold range of the aircraft to avoid convective weather. Then, combined with the random forest classification algorithm, each threshold is again classified 0-1 through machine learning to determine the best avoidance threshold for weather features. Finally, the new construction index evaluation is used to evaluate the reliability of the algorithm. According to the threshold analysis method, the radar reflectivity factor is taken as the research object to carry out an example analysis. The example shows that when the radar reflectivity value is 34 dBZ, the accuracy rate is 96.58 %, the false alarm rate is 2.45 %, and the missing alarm rate is 0.97 %, all of which are better than the decision tree method, thus verifying the reliability and practicability of the algorithm
Propagation characteristics of vibrations due to rock blasting in silt-rock strata
The geological effects of rock blasting in silt-rock strata are complex, and the vibrations caused by the blasting threaten the safety of inhabitable areas. Based on measured data for the vibrations at the site and dynamic finite element simulations, the propagation characteristics of vibrations in silt-rock strata were studied. The propagation of the vibrations of the surface, the propagation characteristics of the vertical vibration velocities from the surface to the tunnel, and the attenuation of the blasting vibrations along the tunnel’s axis were analyzed. The results of this study are as followings: in the direction of the tunnel’s axis and in the direction vertical to the tunnel’s axis, the peak particle velocities (PPVs) of the surface decreases with increasing horizontal distance from the explosion source. The magnitudes of the PPVs of the surface under five working conditions are the same when the surface particle is right above the center of the explosion source and 10 m away from the center. In the vertical direction from the surface to the explosion source, the vertical direction of the silt-rock strata and the vertical direction of the silt stratum, the PPVs increases gradually with the increasing distance from the surface in the vertical direction. The change in the thickness of the artificial fill and silt in the shield interval strata has little effect on the PPVs along the tunnel’s axis. The results of this study provide a reference for identifying the safety distance around the inhabitable areas of rock blasting under similar geological conditions
Recent advancements of signal processing and artificial intelligence in the fault detection of rolling element bearings: a review
A rolling element bearing is a common component in household and industrial machines. Even a minor fault in this section has a negative impact on the machinery's overall operation. As a result, the industry suffers significant financial losses, and this damage can potentially result in catastrophic failures. Therefore, even a little fault in the rolling element bearings must be recognized and remedied as soon as possible. Many ways for detecting REB defects have been created in recent years, and new methods are being introduced on a daily basis. This article will provide a summary of such methods, with a focus on vibration analysis techniques. The newest advancements in this field will be recognizable to readers of this article. Anyone interested in defect diagnostics of rolling element bearings can utilize this material
Railway foreign body vibration signal detection based on wavelet analysis
Based on the wavelet packet analysis method with time-frequency analysis characteristics, the measurement signal of the vibration system is processed for noise reduction, the soft-hard threshold compromise wavelet denoising method used has the advantages of soft threshold and hard threshold denoising, and through the introduction of compromise factors, signal processing can be performed more flexibly in signal analysis. For the denoised signal, the fundamental wavelet time-energy spectrum analysis, the main components of the signal can be clearly displayed, and according to the distribution of its energy in each frequency band, the signal characteristics can be displayed intuitively. Experimental results show: It can be determined that there is a foreign body intrusion incident at a position 520 m away from the monitoring point, rather than a normal train travel incident. In fact, we are walking back and forth at a distance of about 520 m from the monitoring point, simulating the intrusion of illegal foreign objects such as pedestrians and livestock beside the railroad tracks prove that analysis and judgment can be known, the wavelet analysis proposed by the author can realize the monitoring and judgment of some illegal foreign body intrusion incidents such as pedestrians and livestock
The importance of a realistic leakage evaluation to support public awareness and acceptance for carbon capture and storage
Carbon Capture and Storage is not only highly recommended by the IPCC as a mechanism to significantly lower carbon emissions to the atmosphere, it is now also gaining traction in terms of large-scale implementation. Its importance is increasing in many parts of the world to directly decrease emissions from industrial sources, but also to lower the carbon footprint of blue hydrogen production. With most CCS projects being planned for offshore locations, public acceptance is less of a determining factor than it used to be 10-20 years ago, where discussions were rather for onshore locations. CO2 leakage has always been a risk highlighted in the public debate, while no or minimal leakage has been reported for current CCS projects worldwide. However, as scientific community, we need to realistically highlight the risk of leakage across sealing units for CO2 stored to inform various stakeholders like regulators, the public and of course also operating companies. Caprock leakage needs to be studied across various length and time scales, considering the undisturbed matrix as well as fracture networks and faults; we need to consider advective and diffusive flow and transport and incorporate mineral alterations, potentially leading to changes in hydraulic or mechanical properties. This talk will highlight the current state of research, advancements and future research required for a realistic evaluation of caprock leakage. It will be based on past research related to matrix transport as well as current research focusing on single and multiphase flow along faults and fractures
Active damping control of HEVs using Ansys and Matlab/Simulink software
This paper presents Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) powertrain design as well as a motor-based control approach that is designed to control or reduce driveline oscillations by introducing a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller and a Fuzzy logic sliding mode controller. Because the torque of the electric motor can be decreased or increased more quickly than that of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), the vibration increases significantly. To solve this problem, an electric motor control-based Active Damping Control (ADC) strategy is employed to assure smooth driveline function and provide seamless driving experience for the driver. First, the basic level modeling of a hybrid electric powertrain in Ansys Simplorer environment is created and the performance was studied during the certification drive cycle. Thus, the main components of the powertrain– traction motor, battery and ICE – are researched, and basic models were built. The components were developed based on the Ansys software by using an automotive system level behavioral HEV library with VHDL-AMS language built in Ansys Simplorer environment. In addition, comparison of both controllers was presented. The simulation results show that using the ADC reduces more than 30 % of the driveline oscillations, thereby improving the drivability of HEVs
Study on empirical model and CFD about pressure rising in Cab during door closure
Aiming at the problem that there is a strong eardrum pressure in the passenger car during the closing process, two analysis and prediction methods, fast formula prediction and CFD simulation based on accurate models, are proposed. The regression model of ear pressure comfort was established by DOE method and multiple linear regression; The simulation software star-CCM+ is applied to simulate and analyze the dynamic characteristics of the flow field in the cockpit during the closing process by using the overlapping grid technology, and the pressure change curve near the ear is obtained. Finally, the CFD numerical simulation model is established by comparing and analyzing the regression prediction analysis results and the real vehicle test data. The results show that the effects of closing speed, effective opening area of pressure relief valve and air tightness of the whole vehicle on the pressure of passengers’ eardrums decrease in turn, and the prediction error of multiple linear regression equation is 17 %; The analysis error of the internal flow field dynamic characteristic model based on refined modeling is 8 %. This study provides a theoretical basis for solving the problem of rapid prediction of eardrum pressure and optimization of engineering structure
Functional orthopedic device type Sn20 – a therapeutic resource in the control of chronic temporomandibular dysfunction – case report
The literature indicates that patients with a history of Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD), who experience sudden occlusal changes, may worsen their parafunctional habits and develop TMD again. In this sense, the aim of this study is to present a clinical case of recurrent chronic TMD after oral rehabilitation (increase of vertical dimension in all teeth) using Simões Network 20 (SN20) functional orthopedic appliance as one of the resources therapies. The patient was female, 62 years old, and complained of disabling pain, anxiety symptoms, hypervigilant and history of TMD. The patient reported failure of other treatment modalities, including use of the smooth stabilizer device. The diagnosis was chronic TMD – primary osteoarthritis of the temporomandibular joint and related myofascial pain and orofacial migraine. Treatment included physical measurements, instructions, peripheral and central medication, AOF type SN20 (night use). After three months of therapy, the patient showed significant improvement with complete pain reduction. The use of the AOF SN20 together with conservative measures represents a valuable therapeutic modality for patients with chronic TMD
