Application of A* algorithm in intelligent vehicle path planning

    Get PDF
Path planning is one of the important directions in the field of intelligent vehicles research. Traditional path planning algorithms generally use Dijkstra algorithm, Breadth-First-Search (BFS) algorithm and A* algorithm. Dijkstra algorithm is a search-based algorithm, which can search to an optimal path, but the disadvantage is too many expansion nodes, which leads to insufficient search efficiency. BFS algorithm is a heuristic search algorithm, which reduces the disadvantage of too many expansion nodes and improves the search efficiency by heuristic function. A* algorithm is a heuristic search algorithm that combines Dijkstra’s algorithm and BFS algorithm, which has higher search efficiency and can search to an optimal path at the same time, but it is still lacking in the search mode and smoothness of the planned route. This paper first introduces the general path planning algorithm, then introduces and analyzes the A* algorithm, and proposes improvement measures for its shortcomings; finally, the executability and effectiveness of the improved algorithm are tested using simulation, and compared with the traditional A* algorithm, and the results show that the improved A* algorithm has good effect on path planning of intelligent vehicles

    No full text
Electromagnetic propulsion technology is a new propulsion technology which uses electromagnetic force to push objects into high or ultra-high speed. However, during propulsion, the armature and launch load are affected by harsh multi-physics environment. The coupled effect was often ignored or over idealized in previous numerical simulations, which leads to large errors between simulation and experiment. In this paper, a three-dimensional multi-physics coupling environment simulation model is established. The distribution of electromagnetic field, structure field and temperature field in armature from static to high speed are effectively calculated. Moreover, the coupled effect between physical fields and the influence of key parameters on the simulation results are revealed. In conclusion, this model can reproduce the physical field distribution of armature and rail during electromagnetic propulsion. The time-varying resistance and inductance and the velocity skin effect (VSE) are the key parameters affecting armature movement. This method reveals a feasible path for the simplification of multi-physical model and the mitigation of extreme environment

Damage localization in beams based on the analysis of modal parameters

    Get PDF
This paper presents a two-step method for damage localization in beams by combining natural frequencies and mode shapes. The general locations of the damage are first identified from an indicator developed using relative natural frequency change (RNFC) curves and the values of RNFCs. A curvature-mode-shape-based method is then utilized to determine the specific location of the damage in the second step. The proposed two-step method is verified by detecting damage in a simulated simply-supported beam. The identified damage location agrees well with the actual damage location. A strategy for fast and accurate damage localization based on general localization using natural frequencies and specific localization using mode shapes is the main novelty of the paper

Determining the position of two cracks in a cantilever beam using artificial neural networks

    Get PDF
During functioning time, structures such as beams are subjected to a variety of loads caused by the working conditions and environment, which can lead to the development of cracks. The current research is concerned with detecting the presence and location of two transverse breathing cracks, in cantilever beams. Starting from the known fact that damages produce a stiffness degradation in structures altering their dynamic parameters, we performed modal simulations of damaged beams to determine their natural frequencies. By using the simulation data, we trained an artificial neural network (ANN), using the feedforward backpropagation algorithm, that is capable to detect the presence of the cracks, their position and for the case when the damages are in proximity, the model can determine if the cracks occur on the same face or opposite faces

Simulation analysis on seismic dynamic response of pile supported tunnels in deep backfill area of soil-rock mixture

    Get PDF
To reveal the seismic dynamic response of the pile-supported tunnel group in the soil-rock mixture deep backfill region, a three-dimensional finite element model was established based on the engineering conditions of the subway section and three tunnels with close access lines. Subsequently, the seismic dynamic response of the tunnel lining structure was studied. The results show that: Under the action of seismic, the soil-rock mixture stratum presents nonlinear characteristics with shear failure and plastic deformation. In addition, the acceleration and earth pressure of the soil-rock mixture stratum is in a “saturated” state; The seismic dynamic response of the three tunnels influences each other. The bending moments in the X and Y directions of the tunnel lining cross-section are distributed in “X” and inverted “V” shapes, respectively. Meanwhile, the tensile stress and shear stress are distributed in an “X” shape; Under the action of seismic, the main failure form of tunnel lining is tension shear failure, and the most vulnerable position is the left and right arch foot, followed by the left and right arch shoulder; The bending moment of the pile body changes nonlinearly in the height direction. The most significant bending moment value appears at the top 1/5 of the pile length and the junction of different strata. Furthermore, the most significant horizontal displacement of the lining structure occurs at the tunnel vault

A distribution transformer is one of the most important equipments in the power grid, and its operational status is directly related to the security and stability of the entire power system. The performance of transformer windings determines the service life of the transformer. It is of great significance to evaluate the performance of transformer windings accurately, reliably, and effectively after the short-circuit test of the transformer. Aiming at the problem that the natural vibration frequency of the transformer measured before and after the short circuit may not be the same under the impact of the short circuit of the transformer, this paper puts forward the evaluation method for the performance evaluation of the winding of the transformer after the short circuit test and adopts the method of combining the analytic hierarchy process with the fuzzy evaluation method to quantitatively obtain the score for the performance evaluation of the winding. And that evaluation language is given according to the score. Finally, the evaluation of the transformer winding performance after the short-circuit test is realized. The evaluation results show that this method can effectively get the performance index of the transformer winding, without the need for hanging cover inspection, and solve the subjectivity of human eye observation to objectively, accurately, and quantitatively describe the performance state of the transformer winding. The method is favorable for power grid monitoring and maintenance personnel to accurately evaluate the operation stability of the transformer and has very positive significance for improving the short-circuit impact resistance of the transformer and ensuring the safety and stability of the operation of a power system

Comprehensive sensitivity analysis on static and dynamic reservoir parameters impacting near wellbore injectivity during CO2 sequestration

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is proved to be effective measure for reducing CO2 emissions. whilst the world still highly depends on the use of fossil fuel energy, this method is necessary for reaching the world’s 1.5 °C goal. In CCS, CO2 is hindered from entering the atmosphere by capturing it from sources of emission and storing it in geological formation. Saline aquifers among all possible underground formations are most common targeted ones for CO2 storage due to their frequent presence, and large storage capacity. However, this storage option suffers from sufficient well injectivity to inject large volumes of CO2 at acceptable rates through a minimum number of wells. The injectivity impairment / reinforcement happens through mineral dissolution, fine particle movement, salt precipitation and hydrate formation (known so far). Each of these mechanisms will be more dominant in injectivity alteration at different distance from the injection point depending on reservoir pressure and temperature, formation water salinity, rock mineralogy, and flow rate of CO2 injection as well as its dryness. Incorporating all the finding into radial flow near wellbore will help gaining insight into the resultant of injectivity changes over time and distant from injection point. In this study we have chosen Eclipse 300 together with an open-source code to investigate the impact of formation characteristics, CO2 -Brine-Rock interaction, pressure, temperature as well as injection rate on injectivity alteration. The goal for this work is to provide a workflow which can help predicting injectivity alteration using the existing tools. Simulation results show that the high homogenous horizontal permeability in combination with vertical flow baffles in the formation (among all other parameters) has positive impact on storage capacity by increasing residual trapping. However, permeability is affected severely by salt precipitation during CO2 injection. Combined static and dynamic parameter study demonstrate that the injection rate plays a crucial role in size and expansion of CO2 plume as well as growth rate of dry out zone length, amount of salt precipitation and length of equilibrium region. The higher the injection rate, the quicker activation of the capillary and gravity force which leads to drag more brine to near well-bore resulting in higher volume fraction of salt precipitation. However, low injection rate could result in smaller CO2 plume, shorter dry out zone and longer equilibrium region in term of distance from injection point

Socio-political development of CC(U)S in the Baltic Sea region

    Get PDF
According to EU goals and the Paris Agreement, an urgent need exists to reduce CO2 emissions while still securing energy supply. Thus, the timely deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) is seemingly unavoidable, especially for the cement and steel industries. However, diverse perceptions of CCS among stakeholders such as experts, politicians, and laypeople exist that could hinder the deployment of the technology, not least in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). Hence, this research discusses these diverse perceptions and their roots. Furthermore, when it comes to political developments of CCS, after the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine, the whole process of the energy transition in the region is under shadow for the seemingly mid-term while the approach to the energy security and security of supply needs to be revisited. In other words, the countries of the BSR need to manage the energy crisis in the region while following their plans for decarbonisation. In this light, CCS is, therefore, an option to secure energy supply from undesired alternatives like fossil fuels for the short-term and also biomass while curbing CO2 emissions. In sum, this research also discusses the role of CCS in energy security and security of supply concerning the Russian invasion of Ukraine
