Do chewing simulators influence the test results of dental materials? Systematic review
Investigate whether different results about the physical properties of the same biomaterial frequently found in the literature are due to chewing simulator deficiency. A literature review was performed by searching for data on indicators of test accuracy, reproducibility, maintenance of test parameters during all experiments, and standards in the articles or in the sites of manufacturers. The database searched was CAPES PORTAL, and the keywords used were “bite force” AND “simulator”, “chewing simulator” and “mastication simulator”. Including criteria for the papers are publication filter date of “January 1, 2016”, articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese language were accepted. The first 100 papers that seemed suitable when considering the title and abstract were recovered. Only one simulator used for food property studies had the parameters searched. In the customized simulators for biomaterial properties, only one showed standards, and 8 showed all other parameters searched. All manufactured simulators showed all parameters searched, and only two manufactures did not show standards. Based on the data obtained, the disparate results of experiments with dental materials appeared to be more related to the test conditions than to the testing machines. Knowledge Transfer Statement The findings of the current review suggest that the chewing simulators used in preclinical research are reliable, bringing safety to restorative processes regarding the material. Any difference in preclinical investigations about dental material physical properties is due to test conditions other than chewing simulators

Design of automotive mechanical automatic transmission system based on torsional vibration reduction
Automatic transmission system is the core part of vehicle transmission processing, which can improve driving safety. In order to improve the shift effect of automotive automatic mechanical transmission and narrow the gap between the vehicle speed and the expected speed, an automotive automatic mechanical transmission system based on torsional damping was designed in the experiment. On the basis of hardware composed of different modules and fuzzy control algorithm, the system realizes the software design of vehicle automatic mechanical transmission system. The experimental results show that when the system is applied in practice, the gear selection time of the vehicle is between 0.2 s-0.3 s, and the gear shift time is between 0.3 s-0.4 s. The gap between the vehicle speed and the expected speed, and between the vehicle speed and the expected speed is small. The practical application effect is good
Characterization of 3D-Radar images of pavement devoid damage based on FDTD
Accurate judgement of devoid damage information by 3D-Radar is an effective way of repairing damage in nondestructive pavements. In order to systematically analyse the characteristics of devoid damage under nondestructive pavements in 3D-Radar response. In this study, the 3D-Radar response to devoid damage of different sizes, locations and moisture contents was quantified by FDTD orthorectified simulations. Data acquisition of the pre-buried devoid damage on site was carried out using 3D-Radar, compared with the orthorectified simulation results and numerical analysis. The detection effect was also verified by relying on the project. The results show that the radar wave characteristics of the devoid damage are obvious. Different colour and waveform image characteristics in B-Scan in the presence and absence of water at the location; the size of the devoid also has an impact on the image characteristics. It depends on the footprints and size of the devoid. It creates “upward-convex”, “down-concave” and straight features; the presence of the devoid characteristics in the 3D-Radar mapping will enhance the confidence of the devoid identification through field tests and engineering verification
Cross domain fault diagnosis method based on MLP-mixer network
The quality of rolling bearings determines the safety of mechanical equipment operation, and bearings with more precise structures are prone to damage due to excessive operation. Therefore, cross domain fault diagnosis of bearings has become a research hotspot. To better improve the accuracy of bearing cross domain fault diagnosis, this study proposes two models. One is a cross domain feature extraction model constructed using a mixed attention mechanism, which recognizes and extracts high-level features of bearing faults through channel attention and spatial attention mechanisms. The other is a bearing cross domain fault diagnosis model based on multi-layer perception mechanism. This model takes the feature signals collected by the attention mechanism model as input to identify and align the differences between the source and target domain features, facilitating cross domain transfer of features. The experimental results show that the mixed attention mechanism model has a maximum accuracy of 97.3 % for feature recognition of different faults, and can successfully recognize corresponding signal values. The multi-layer perception model can achieve the highest recognition accuracy of 99.5 % in bearing fault diagnosis, and it can reach a stable state when it iterates to 26, and the final stable loss value is 0.28. Therefore, the two models proposed in this study have good application value
Joint effects of thermal diffusion and diffusion thermo on MHD three dimensional nanofluid flow towards a stretching sheet
This communication reports the joint effects of Thermal Diffusion and Diffusion Thermo on viscous and incompressible three-dimensional nanofluid flow towards a stretching sheet in connection to the influence of a magnetic field. In this study, nanofluid model is employed for the effects of thermophoresis and Brownian motion. Following that, similarity variables are chosen to turn the dimensional nonlinear system into dimensionless expressions and the resultant transformed equations are solved numerically using Finite Element method. Special emphasis has been given to the parameters of physical interest. These findings are visually presented through graphical representations, providing a clear and insightful understanding involved in this flow scenario. In addition, the final results are examined in light of past research and it is determined that they meet the convergence standards to an exceedingly satisfactory degree. The study’s findings are beneficial for many technical and commercial endeavours
Precision local anomaly positioning technology for large complex electromechanical systems
In recent years, Prognostics Health Management (PHM) technology has become an important reference technology in fields such as avionics and electromechanical systems due to its ability to reduce costs and achieve state based maintenance and autonomous support. However, with the operation of large and complex electromechanical systems (ES), the data generated gradually ages the status of components, and traditional PHM technology is difficult to solve the problem of electromechanical system components becoming more complex. Based on this, this study takes the hydraulic actuator cylinder as an example to construct a local component fault detection model. Firstly, fault data features are extracted using wavelet packet energy spectrum, and then a fault detection model is constructed based on support vector machine (SVM). In response to the shortcomings of SVM, a smooth support vector machine (SSVM) is proposed to replace SVM, and an improved crow search algorithm (ICSA) is used to improve SVM. Finally, an intelligent detection model for hydraulic actuator cylinder faults based on ICSA-SSVM was constructed based on the above algorithms. The experimental results show that the ICSA-SSVM model has the fastest Rate of convergence, among which, the positioning accuracy is 0.96, the fitting degree is 0.984, the fault detection accuracy is 99.16 %, the recall value is 94.52 %, and the AUC value is 0.986, all of which are better than the existing fault detection models. From this, it can be seen that the precise local anomaly localization technology for large-scale complex electromechanical systems based on the ICSA-SSVM algorithm proposed in this study can improve the efficiency and accuracy of fault detection, achieve accurate and intelligent detection of ES local anomalies, and have certain positive significance for the development of China’s industry
Development of a method for online control of plastic deformations of a tank wall and assessment of its residual life
A method of operational control of the residual resource of the tank is proposed. As a tool, the measurement of deformations of the tank wall, the assessment of plastic deformations are used. To determine the deformation, it is proposed to use a light guide installed on the wall, with the help of which the change in the curvature of the wall is measured. A device prototype containing a light guide and the necessary electronics has been developed, and the dependence of the device readings on the curvature of the light guide has been experimentally determined. The simulation of the tank in the computer simulation program was carried out in order to compare the integral of the relative deformation over the height of the tank with the readings of the device. An algorithm for processing measurements of device readings and estimating the residual life of the tank is proposed
Modern development of metamaterials for obtaining special electromagnetic, acoustic, mechanical and vibration-isolating properties
The article presents the history of the development of metamaterials, which begins with the development of metamaterials to obtain unique electromagnetic properties. The first ideas of such materials appeared in the XIX century. Such constructions make it possible to obtain a negative permittivity, and further the “invisibility effect”. The idea of creating a material with a given microstructure also makes it possible to obtain metamaterials with a negative Poisson’s ratio, acoustic metamaterials. Separately, it should be noted that such an approach makes it possible to obtain metamaterials with negative rigidity and vibration-isolating metamaterials. The article presents the author's design of a vibration-isolating metamaterial with quasi-zero stiffness. A demonstration prototype was made
Optimizing and reliability analysis by firefly and genetic algorithms for a quadcopter
Our study aims to obtain the highest level of reliability for a quadcopter, taking financial and mass limitations into account, to achieve the highest level of reliability with the lowest mass and cost. For this purpose, we first calculated the reliability and the relationships that govern it, and based on these relationships, we determined the reliability of the quadcopter subsystems. In order to achieve the highest level of reliability, we utilized optimization algorithms. It is possible to increase the reliability of a system through several methods, such as enhancing the quality of parts and components, using surplus components, improving the quality of parts and components by always using surplus components, and redesigning the system. This study examines the possibility of increasing quadcopter reliability by using additional parts and optimizing it using the firefly algorithm. Lastly, in order to validate the results obtained from the firefly algorithm, we implemented the problem once again using the genetic algorithm and compared the results obtained from both algorithms. After 20 times of running the algorithms, the optimal reliability values were 0.99925 for the firefly algorithm and 0.99999 for the genetic algorithm
