No full textAt present Carbon/Glass fiber composite structure are widely used with Epoxy Resin. Epoxy resin is employed primarily for fabricating high performance composites with best physical properties, corrosion properties, superior electrical properties, smart performance at elevated temperatures, smart adhesion to a substrate or a combination of these edges. Epoxy resins are used with variety of fibrous reinforcing materials as well as glass, carbon. Epoxies are compatible with most composite producing processes significantly various types of molding, filament winding and hand lay-up.
Light weight and high strength composite material thus made promotes aerospace and missile industries to replace metallic structure. However, there are limitations on their use in thermal environment having maximum temperature range of 120-1500C. Also glass fiber composites are subject to considerable water absorption. This limitation is imposed by Epoxy matrix in composite structure. A new indigenous herbal matrix/resin named ‘BRAMHA’ has been developed for fabrication of glass/carbon fiber reinforced composite materials. Since it is made from wheat, cereals, proteins, starch mixed with natural gum, it is categorized as “Herbal” resin. Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer molding (VARTM) composite fabrication process is used for preparation of carbon & glass fiber laminates. This resin is then compared with epoxy for its various physical & mechanical properties such as pure resin shear strength, water absorption, and sand erosion. The strength tests like tensile at room and at elevated temperatures; compression test and inter-laminar shear strength are conducted. The test results obtained show that BRAMHA resin has superior properties than presently used Epoxy resin .The above tests are carried out at Advanced Composite Division (ACD) National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL) Bangalore and Composite Research Center (CRC) DRDO-R & D E, Pun
TWO WHEELER SERVICING INSPECTION SYSTEM
No full textThis report represents an application implemented on a two wheeler Servicing Inspection system using an ATMEGA 2560 microcontroller. The program controls outputs in sequential order and it is loaded onto the memory of the microcontroller. Each output is activated only when the system receives information about the previous command. These commands are highlighted by an optical LED display. Arduino is easily available in market at low cost and it is open source licenses hence arduino microcontroller is used. For the programming of arduino IDE software is used. And this software is easily available on net and easy to programming

No full textThe article presents an analysis of the results of treatment of 18 patients (22 joints) treated for residual hip dysplasia. The age of the patients ranged from 7 to 14 years. There were 6 boys and 12 girls among the patients. The patients were examined using clinical, radiological and computed tomographic methods, and a three-dimensional model of the hip joint was constructed. The results of surgical treatment were evaluated as excellent, good, satisfactory, and unsatisfactory. Excellent results were obtained in 4 patients. Good results were observed in 10 patients. Satisfactory results were observed in 4 patients

THERMOACOUSTIC REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
No full textThermo acoustic is arecent phenomenon which is used to develop the engines and pumps. Thermo acoustic refrigeration is one such phenomenon that uses high intensity sound waves in a pressurized gas tube to pump heat from one place to other to produce refrigeration effect. In this type of refrigeration the conventional refrigerants are eliminated and sound waves are used as a refrigerant. All we need is a loud speaker and an acoustically insulated tube. Also this system completely eliminates the need for lubricants and results in 40% less energy consumption. Thermo acoustic heat engines have the advantage of operating with inert gases and with little or no moving parts, making them highly efficient ideal candidate for environmentally-safe refrigeration with almost zero maintenance cost. OPEN DEFECATION IN MALAWI A BOX-JENKINS ARIMA APPROACH
No full textUsing annual time series data on the number of people who practice open defecation in Malawi from 2000 – 2017, the study predicts the annual number of people who will still be practicing open defecation over the period 2018 – 2021. The study applies the Box-Jenkins ARIMA methodology. The diagnostic ADF tests show that the M series under consideration is an I (1) variable. Based on the AIC, the study presents the ARIMA (3, 1, 0) model as the optimal model. The diagnostic tests further show that the presented model is stable and its residuals are stationary in levels. The results of the study indicate that the number of people practicing open defecation in Malawi is likely to decline, over the period 2018 – 2022, from approximately 5.1% to almost 2.8% of the total population. Indeed, by 2030, open defecation can be eliminated in Malawi hence, the country is in the right track with regards to its vision 2030 (on water, sanitation and hygiene). The study suggested a 3-fold policy recommendation to be put into consideration, especially by the government of Malawi
