    DRIVERS & OUTCOMES OF HUMAN CAPITAL ANALYTICS

    The current article analyzes human capital analytics and develops a model for the drivers and outcomes of human capital analytics. A total of 81 articles have been analyzed using content analysis and a model has been developed using systematic literature review. The model identifies four drivers and seven outcomes of human capital analytics. The drivers include organizational culture, employee hard & soft skills, employee competencies and skilled workforce. The outcomes include stronger inter-departmental relationships, improved employee experience and behaviour, knowledge-based decisions, improved company performance, provision of competitive edge, risk reduction and enhancement of strategic organizational capability. We see that human capital analytics is an emerging phenomenon and yet much literature does not exist on the phenomenon. Considering minimal exploration of HR data analytics and its hidden role in the company's performance, the area has been less approached. Our review addresses the mentioned shortcoming and provides a roadmap for the future research

    This conceptual paper contributes to the academic literature by elucidating the interplay between brand image dimensions, service recovery strategies, customer satisfaction, and word-of-mouth communication and revisiting intentions in the context of private hospitals in Thailand. The findings of this study provide a foundation for future research endeavors by offering insights into the potential moderating role of emotional intelligence in shaping service recovery outcomes. Moreover, the alignment of our results with theoretical frameworks such as Expectancy-Confirmation Theory (ECT) and Social Exchange Theory (SET) suggests avenues for exploring similar phenomena in different industries. Practically, our findings offer actionable implications for private hospitals to enhance customer retention by strategically managing brand image dimensions and incorporating emotional intelligence considerations into service recovery efforts. Future research could delve deeper into the nuanced dynamics of these relationships across diverse cultural and organizational contexts, thereby enriching our understanding and offering practical guidelines for service-oriented businesses globally.

    Soil erosion was assessed in Anambra State using three different LS factor estimation methods. It showed that soil loss from the LS factor based on the slope in percent gives a good result with little underestimation with a PBIAS of -9.04 % while that based on slopes in radians performed best with a slight overestimation with a PBIAS of 2.81 %. The one based on degrees’ slope performed the least with a high underestimation with a PBIAS of -46.43 %. The result from field measurement yielded 27.76 t ha-1yr-1. The coefficient of variations was 241.47 %, 192.01 %, and 157.97 %, respectively, for slope in percent, radians and degree. Soil erosion is a highly variable phenomenon which was reflected by the high coefficient of variations. It shows that modelling soil erosion in the State with the LS factor estimation based on slopes in radians and percent yields better results. We believe this finding will be useful to authorities and scientists interested in soil erosion studies in the State. It is recommended that a similar study be extended to other terrains with moderate slopes

    In the case of international disputes resolved by means of arbitration, the cross-border effects of the awards are essential for the parties. At first glance, these awards are assimilated to the national court judgements of the state where they were pronounced and are considered foreign court judgements in any other state. Nevertheless, in some cases, the links between the arbitral procedures and the place of pronouncement of the awards are weak or even non-existent, which raises serios doubts over the ability of this specific place to determine the nationality of the arbitral award. The described circumstance is the premise of the present scientific approach, which aims to deepen the analysis of the criteria for determining the nationality of an arbitral award (by a Romanian court), with implications on its cross-border effects, as well as on the procedures that could lead to its dissolution. From a methodological point of view, the research aims, successively, to inventory the applicable legal instruments, to delineate the solutions offered by them, in order to, finally, by overlapping them, provide a comprehensive theory on the determination of the nationality of an arbitral award

    The development of an Interactive website about tax and financial management by applying constructivism theory for students of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The objectives are 1) to develop a self-learning model through an interaction website to provide knowledge about tax and financial management, by applying constructivism theory 2) to study the quality of an Interactive website 3) to compare academic achievement of students, before and after using an Interactive website, and 4) to study the satisfaction of the sample group of students at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi after using an Interactive website. The study tools include 1) an interaction website about tax and financial management 2) Website quality assessment form for experts 3) Website satisfaction assessment form 4) Test before and after for students after studying tax and financial management by using an Interactive website. The sample group is bachelor degree of 4th year students of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi by using a random method, which are 172 people. The creator conducted a study and collected information from experts and used it to develop according to the principles and theories of creating an interactive website for self-learning. Results of the content quality results and technical quality results of the interaction website found to be at a very good level with an average of 4.70 (SD. = 0.33) and 4.53 (SD.1. =0.56) respectively. The satisfaction assessment results from students were at the most satisfactory level, has an average of 4.47 (SD.=0.56) and found that the sample students had an average score of academic achievement after studying through the interactive website, it was significantly higher at the 0.05 level

    This study examines the educational requirements and teaching methods for English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in vocational medical laboratory students at the National Institute for Technology (NIT). The study utilizes the Research and Development (R&D) approach to create and evaluate methods for instructional and non-instructional items. The Instructional Development Model created by Dick (1996) outlines the study process, emphasizing Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) tasks. Information was gathered from second-semester students in the Diploma Medical Lab Department in the academic year 2023/2024 through questionnaires and organized interviews with professors and students. The results, studied descriptively, emphasize the student's learning needs and preferences, underscoring the significance of proficient English communication abilities for their future professions. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating creative and interactive teaching approaches, such as technology, to improve students' English skills and prepare them for the workforce. The results provide useful information for educators creating English language courses customized for the particular requirements of vocational medical laboratory students

    BIOCHEMICAL AND TRANSCRIPTOMIC ANALYSIS OF DISEASE RESISTANCE AND EARLY-MATURITY RELATED GENES IN NMR-191 AND NMR-192 RICE MUTANT LINES

    Malaysia's rice industry has revealed that the rice production was unable to supply the food demand where nearly 30% was imported from other countries. This is due to the fact that rice cultivation in Malaysia faces concerns about rice blast disease, Magnaporthe oryzae attack, and having a long maturation period. As such, generation of new rice mutant lines that possess improved disease resistance and early maturity characteristics through mutation breeding techniques are of great importance. This study aimed to analyze the biochemical characteristics as well as to validate the presence of disease resistance and early maturity-related genes in rice mutant lines. After the rice seeds of the parent line Pongsu Seribu 2 (PS2) and mutant lines (NMR191 and NMR192) were grown for 14 days, the plant samples underwent biochemical tests including total soluble protein content, specific activity of peroxidase, chlorophyll content and proline content. The RNA extraction and sequencing were also conducted for the purpose of transcriptomic profiling analysis to determine the presence of disease resistance and early maturity genes in the samples. The biochemical analyses showed a significant increase in the total soluble protein content, chlorophyll content, and proline content in the mutant line NMR191 and NMR192 compared to the parent line, while the specific activity of peroxidase in the mutant lines was significantly lower compared to the parent line. The transcriptomic profiling analysis revealed that Os07g0129300, Os12g0270300, and Os03g0235000 were the disease-resistance genes whereas Os03g0195300, Os01g0704100, Os11g0143200, Os06g0569900, and Os06g0568600 were the early maturity genes found in NMR191 and NMR192. This study validates that NMR191 and NMR192 could be better varieties than the parent line due to the presence of their early maturity and disease resistance traits

    This paper presents the impact of the surface topology of the scanned 3D object on parametric fitting. Whether it is a simple NURBS (Non-uniform rational B-spline) or a more complex hierarchical spline version, it is important to apply the fitting procedure. Here we describe the differences between fitting a surface with a given topology as a result of a 3D scanning system and a matrix topology of the surface, where the original surface is replaced by the result of a preset number of sections of the original geometry. We use the matrix and the free-form distribution. The former is more stable with respect to the distribution of the control point, the latter is numerically more suitable. In the future, we plan to adopt the free-form distribution to utilize the advantages of both distributions

    This exploration investigates the potential of enhancing energy efficiency in residential structures in Amman, Jordan, by introducing an innovative material termed "Phase Transition Substance with Fungal Integration (PTSF)." Through computational simulations using Autodesk-Revit, the analysis evaluates the thermal efficiency of a standard residential building, contrasting traditional construction materials with PTSF. The study centers on three crucial elements: outer walls (W.01), roof (R.01), and ground level slab (S.01), all initially not meeting prescribed thermal conductivity regulations. Integration of PTSF notably improves the thermal efficacy of the building's shell, aligning with Jordanian standards for thermal insulation. Furthermore, a systematic examination explores the time delay of materials within the residential envelope, revealing an average lag of approximately 8 hours. This lag implies that, with the incorporation of the PTSF layer, the envelope requires 8 hours to transmit external temperatures (e.g., 30°C) to attain the interior's peak temperature, underscoring the material's potential in curbing energy consumption
