EMPOWERING NEURODIVERGENT LEARNERS IN INCLUSIVE CLASSROOMS: A CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE TEACHING (CRT) PERSPECTIVE
Get PDFThe global commitment to inclusive education under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4) aims to accommodate the diverse learning needs of neurodivergent learners comprehensively.Conventional teaching methods often underserve the unique learning requirements of neurodivergent learners, such as those with Dyslexia, Autism, and Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The study examines the impact of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) as an instructional approach, emphasizing – the use of culturally relevant learning materials, differentiated and flexible instruction, visual cues, and social-emotional learning (SEL) interventions on the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development of neurodivergent learners. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines qualitative data from classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents, and quantitative data analysis to establish the correlation between learner’s academic performance and the CRT strategies. The findings underscore the positive impact of the aforementioned CRT strategies on the academic achievements, confidence-building, learner engagement, peer relationships, and socio-emotional development of neurodivergent learners.The implications of the study extend to linking CRT strategies with the broader goals of SDG 4, promoting an equitable and inclusive educational landscape empowering neurodivergen learners
RELIGIOSITY RELATED TO LIFE SATISFACTION, LOCUS OF CONTROL AND DEFENSE MECHANISMS
Get PDFThe proportion of non-religious individuals has been increasing rapidly over the last decade. Consequently, the interest in knowing whether there are any distinct psychological differences between those who believe in the creator and those who do not is also growing. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the association between religiosity and life satisfaction, locus of control, and defense mechanisms, and the differences between religious and non-religious individuals in terms of these factors. In this paper, data were collected from 90 non-religious individuals (atheists, and agnostics) by using snowball sampling, and 110 religious individuals (Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian) by using purposive sampling and choosing them according to their self-identified religions. It was found that religiosity is positively correlated with life satisfaction, external locus of control, and mature defense styles, and negatively correlated with neurotic defense styles. Moreover, religious participants scored significantly high on life satisfaction, external locus of control, and mature defense styles than non-religious individuals, and non-religious participants scored significantly high on neurotic defense styles than religious individuals. Though this paper can give an outlook of the answers to our present questions, but further research should be done, including the data of the degree of religious involvement of religious individuals for a clear outcome
A DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF THE NEWSPAPER ADVICE COLUMN
Get PDFThis study investigated the feminist voice revealed in the advice-transaction column Women’s World, Sunday issues of SunStar Daily newspaper. Specifically, as implied by the verbal transaction, it focuses on these feminist aspects: societal roles of women as advice-seekers and as advice-givers. Also, this research illustrated the socio-psychological thematic issues involved in this advice column. The data of this study are the advice columns in the Women’s World published in SunStar Daily every Sunday of the week where twenty-two issues were examined. The results showed that women face particular and complicated obstacles in life and play a variety of roles in society. Their varied experiences have revealed insightful facts, such as the fact that women worry about things like their weight and appearance, matriarchal obligations, relationships, and career goals, among other things. These problems provide as an example of the intricate and varied difficulties that women encounter in daily life. The study found that women who seek guidance have a number of socio-psychological issues that represent the worries and difficulties they face in their daily lives, including psychological issues, relationship infidelity, family troubles, commitment uncertainty, and professional obstacles. The study also emphasizes the significant contribution that women have as advice-givers in newspaper advice columns. Women offer guidance on a range of subjects, such as family problems, romantic relationships, and raising kids. This conclusion emphasizes the importance of women's support and guidance of others and the necessity for support systems that empower women to have fulfilled lives
STRENGTHENING SOCIAL RESILIENCE THROUGH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN A MULTICULTURAL SOCIETY: CASE STUDY IN INDONESIA

The cultural richness of a country is a gift because it has the potential to become a national strength. The diversity of religions, cultures, and customs can contribute to tourism and academics. However, the diversity that exists in a society can be a threat if it is not balanced with an attitude of mutual respect, tolerance, and openness. Social diversity is prone to excessive ethnocentrism, the emergence of identity politics, and social polarization. The massive use of social media in the current digital era increases the risk of social friction that can trigger conflict. Therefore, civic engagement in national life has an important role in fostering an attitude of mutual respect and tolerance. In Indonesia, civic engagement has a wide scope, ranging from deliberation activities at the local level to activities at the national level, such as elections. This study answers the question of how effective civic engagement is in creating social cohesion and strengthening social resilience. The purpose of this study is to examine how civic engagement can increase social resilience in multicultural societies in Indonesia. The method used in this study is qualitative, based on a literature review. This study is expected to provide theoretical contributions in strengthening social resilience through community participation in multicultural countries on a global scale, especially to face challenges in the ever-growing digital era
USING VIRTUAL REALITY (VR) TO ENHANCE DESIGN SKILLS OF ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS AT UAE UNIVERSITY
Get PDFThe significance of this research lies in its intention to systematically assess the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) as an advanced intelligent tool in architectural practices, with a particular focus on enhancing user experience and improving design quality. This investigation will explore how VR can be facilitated to help architectural students enhance their design skills, detect design flaws and clashes between different systems for seamless integration, and provide valuable insights for the advancement of architectural education and practice. How can VR be facilitated to help students enhance the design quality from an architectural point of view? How does VR assist in identifying design constraints and conflicts between various systems to support the seamless integration and the incorporation of sustainable elements? The research adopted a qualitative research methodology using in-depth interviews with architectural students to answer the research questions. The research results highlighted the effectiveness of VR technology in grasping and assessing various architectural design aspects specifically within the interior spaces and structural design issues (including clash detection within the integration of architectural structural systems), it also showed valuable results evaluating exterior building design. Findings from this investigation help contribute to the ongoing discourse on leveraging technology to optimize design education practices and foster innovation among students. The research findings revealed the effectiveness of VR in identifying the following: enhancing the visualization of design challenges, providing a comprehensive building assessment, and holistically detecting design qualities and system integration problems. The pilot study recommends integrating the use of VR into the curriculum of the intermediate design studio level at the University. The research findings will contribute to the current knowledge base and guide future advancements in immersive design technologies

Usova: the key to learning physics is universal mental structures (generalized plans) that correspond to various types of physics knowledge and research activities. The generalized nature of her plans allows us to rely on them in various fields of physics education and in a range of learning situations. Generalized plans afford us the clearest way of thinking about the system of knowledge, learning skills, pedagogical experimentations, and educational interdisciplinarity. The rise of generalized plans is, of course, an excellent illustration of the unification carried out by a brilliant educational scientist. This is one of the best examples of the long-term worth of some pedagogical ideas. Of course, general plans are not the final solution to the problem of teaching physics, but their success testifies to their deeper meaning. They are easily applicable to new teaching and learning technologies and quickly adapt to them. When virtual reality was allowed to inject a bit of novelty, presumed to be the new active ingredient in the educational process, it reignited old debates about the nature of teaching and learning. VR technologies offer to teachers and students a remarkable tool that allows them to visualize physical entities, objects, phenomena, instruments, laws and theories, as well as the learning environment in a three-dimensional virtual space. Virtual reality applications based on generalized plans become a universal tool for teaching and learning physics, allowing students to visualize the complicated conceptual structure of physics. There are natural characteristics that we have come to expect from an educational invention with a chance of being correct: savings in time, resources, and a certain inner elegance. In this sense, the generalized plans correspond to the style of the information age, the needs of students and the high requirements for teaching physics
The Reality Of The Globalizing World And The Proactive Dimension Of The Human World Of “Boundless Careers”
Get PDFGlobal transformations of the modern world, which have a multidimensional nature, and which almost all aspects of social existence are subject to, seem to be inescapable and their complexity difficult to grasp. Globalisation tendencies in the world deprived the modern society of stability which was characteristic for the modern epoch of industrial society. However, dialectical nature of globalisation determines development of societies’ ability to anticipate dangers and coping with them at individual, social and global levels. New chances and new possibilities emerge in micro- and macro-scale, but there are also fears and concerns, which define the contours of the society of tomorrow. Quality specification of new transformations in relations between globality and locality, society and unit, and their interconnections, is by no means irrelevant to multicontextual changes in the world of work. These changes make new demands on employees. The vision implies a completely new perception of reality, ways of interpreting the worlds, and new quality of judgements on the condition of modern world – including a man as the “manager” of his own career. The most important, subjective and internal meaning of career must be correlated with its external traits. Therefore, personal meaning, despite being influenced by social categories to which the individual belongs, cannot be derived only from these categories. It is also important to consider orientation categories which are understood as individual tendencies characterised by lasting expressiveness. Coexistence of cognitive, normative, emotional and behavioural components is accompanied by an objective which relates to achievement of what, according to the individual, is worthy of desire in career. Career commitment is characterised by development of personal career objectives, devotion to these objectives, identification with them and commitment to them. Changes in the world of “boundless” careers make the problem of entity’s proactivity that is proactive behavior of the entity in career, topical. The distinctive feature of proactive planning and career management is awareness of being an entity which follows the desired direction and influences the surrounding reality by initiating changes. Proactive attitude of an entity is reflected in the processes of pursuit and achieving objectives which, as a result, make the entity a creator of reality rather than its forecaster. Proactive persons explore the environment, look for the possibilities of change, go beyond the limitations imposed by the situation, directing it in a way which allows to derive all benefits brought by reshaping the situation. Commitment to an internally defined career may be a significant source of shaping entity’s (professional) identity, which seems to be indispensable for the entity’s career progress in the world of “boundless” careers in the reality of a globalising world. 
THE EXPRESSIVE FUNCTION OF CRIMINAL PUNISHMENT: BETWEEN SOCIAL DISAPPROVAL AND JUSTICE BALANCE
Get PDFThis article examines the expressive function of criminal punishment as a symbolic communication tool through which society conveys its disapproval of criminal behavior. It analyzes how the severity of sanctions reflects the degree of moral blame attributed to the offense and the risks posed by public pressure, including disproportionate punishment and penal populism. The study employs a theoretical methodology, reviewing contemporary literature on retributivism, communicative theories of punishment, and comparative criminal justice models, with emphasis on Nordic systems. Findings show that sanctions can combine practical effectiveness—crime prevention and social protection—with symbolic expression, respecting proportionality and supporting offender reintegration. The article also discusses the limitations of the expressive function, particularly its potential impact on stigmatization and the tension between moral blame and utilitarian objectives. Conclusions highlight the need for an integrated approach, where criminal sanctions express social condemnation while promoting rehabilitation, reparation, and social cohesion. This perspective provides a framework for developing fair criminal policies that convey a clear moral message without compromising proportionality or human dignity

This paper argues that the conceptual framework of quantum indeterminacy, as initially explored in Modernist "quantum poetics" by figures like Daniel Albright, has profoundly influenced the non-deterministic plot progression and ambiguous narrative closure characteristic of contemporary science fiction, particularly in narratives featuring highly autonomous artificial intelligence. Drawing on the philosophical implications of quantum theory, as articulated by thinkers like Carlo Rovelli and Slavoj Žižek, this study has analyzed how select works of contemporary science fiction particularly the trending Murderbot Diaries construct plots that resist singular, predictable outcomes, mirroring the inherent probabilistic nature of quantum reality. By examining the manifestation of quantum indeterminacy in narrative structure, this paper seeks to illuminate the sophisticated engagement of modern science fiction with cutting-edge scientific and philosophical thought, contributing to the interdisciplinary dialogue between literature and science.
