    Saluda River Basin Plan : Summary Sheet

    The Saluda River Basin Plan (Plan) is one of eight river basin plans under development for South Carolina. Once completed, the plans will converge into an updated South Carolina State Water Plan. The Plan includes data, analysis, and water management strategies to guide water resource development in the basin for a planning horizon of 50 years. The Plan was developed over a two-year period by the Saluda River Basin Council (RBC), a group of vetted volunteer stakeholders, representing a cross section of water interests, and organized by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) in 2022.     The South Carolina Rural Incentive Grant Program provides incentive grants for primary care physicians and advanced practice professionals who commit to practice in a rural or underserved area of South Carolina in an outpatient setting for a period of four years. To date, the program has funded over 500 primary care providers in rural communities throughout the state. Statistics have shown that retention rates are greatly enhanced if these professionals remain in the site for four or more years. Since 1990, 89% of physicians who were awarded incentive grants are actively practicing in South Carolina

    This assessment of the stability and functionality of the Jefferies Generating Station (JGS) coal combustion residual (CCR) management unit is based on a review of available documents and on-site assessment conducted by Santee Cooper engineering staff on January 13, 2025. As detailed in this report, there are some recommendations based on field observations that may help CGS continue to maintain the management unit in safe condition. In summary, the JGS CCR management unit was generally found in satisfactory condition. No recognized existing or potential management unit safety deficiencies were noted at the time of inspection within the parameters of design and operation

    Evaluating and Improving the Disaster Recover Reserve Corps (DRRC) Training Program

    The DRRC mission is an essential function of the Agency when it comes to short- and long-term recovery responsibilities after a major disaster. The DRRC is intended to be available to offer case management services after a disaster in as little as 30 days. Corps members will be activated based on the location of the disaster and the specific disaster response and recovery activities the State decides to deploy. Evaluating the training of reservists will not only quicken recovery for citizens after a disaster, but their effective performance will underscore the ongoing need for funding to sustain this program due to the value it brings to the citizens

The tool kit specifically addresses: 1. Medication administration by personnel in school settings during emergencies, including stock: a. Epinephrine auto-injector for treatment of severe allergic reaction/ anaphylaxis, b. Inhaled albuterol for treatment of respiratory distress due to asthma, and c. Naloxone/Narcan® for treatment of opioid overdose. 2. Training requirements for school personnel who may administer these life-saving medications
