Voices of Black Entrepreneurs in Ontario: Their Challenges and Needs
Black entrepreneurs face several restraining barriers that are disproportionate to their White counterparts as highlighted by Deskins and Ross (2018). While there is a vast amount of research studies in the U.S. on Black entrepreneurs, there is a lack of focused studies on this topic in Canada, a country where there is a robust landscape of black business owners.
A review of the literature review exposed a critical gap, while many studies highlight the barriers these entrepreneurs face, few explore the specific support they require for success. Thus, the study aimed to fill the gap by investigating “What are the supports and resources do Black entrepreneurs in Ontario need to succeed?
