    A Study on the Drivers of Corporate Culture Impacting Employee Performance in it Industry

    Purpose: Examining the factors that contribute to company culture and how that culture affects employee productivity is the primary focus of this essay.   Theoretical framework: This investigation used a mixed research strategy, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches.   Design/methodology/approach: In total, 378 IT professionals working in Kerala were recruited to complete the questionnaire. The present study adapted seven dimensions namely Work life, communication, motivation, empowerment, Strategic Decision, Leadership and core values as the drivers of corporate culture.   Findings: According to the results, all seven of the identified determinants of corporate culture had a significant role in forming the study's hypothesised culture. Findings also showed that the study's composite variable, "company culture," had an effect on workers' performance. The job performance of workers might be heavily based on the company's culture.   Research Practical  &  Social  implications :The findings may assist IT firm leaders strengthen their culture by focusing on the factors that were proven to have the most impact on creating their organization's unique spirit. The corporate culture should be such that it results in improved performance of employees. There should be leadership with a dedicated human resource department in each company, who can nurture the core value in organizational culture, motivate the employees and make the company more competent. Culture in the workplace is complex and takes many forms; it might develop in response to the challenges and difficulties inherent in every given business, or it can be consciously crafted by the company's leadership and employees.   Originality/value: This essay provides the assistance for a dialogue. It shows that while corporates are investing in culture and performance improvement programmes, research on the core value of such programmes as drivers that impacts performance has not been explored in detail

    The Impact of e-Wom on Users’ Attitudes Toward Over-the-top (Ott) Streaming Video Content and its Subscription Intention. – Young Indians Perspective

    Purpose: Empirical research suggests a high impact of e-WOM on the user’s attitude leading to their behavioral intention. This research paper is a novel attempt to understand the impact of electronic word-of-mouth on users’ attitudes toward the content of OTT, leading to its subscription intention.   Theoretical framework: “Content” is one of the key factors behind the exponential growth and viewership of OTT platforms in India. But how the users develop their attitude to watch or subscribe a specific content largely depends on word of mouth (WOM) or electronic word of mouth(e-WOM) information.   Design/method/approach: The data is collected from 250 respondents using the measured items from existing scales to test their validity and reliability in the OTT industry. Structural equation modeling is then used to examine the influence of e-WOM on the user’s attitudes toward content and subscription intention.   Findings: The results indicate a positive and significant impact of e-WOM on the user’s attitude towards content and subscription intention. e-WOM is a significant predictor   Research, Practical & Social implication: The paper offers valuable insights to the prominent marketers of OTTs in devising appropriate content promotion or content enhancement strategies which could lead to a favorable e-WOM about their content.   Originality/value: There has been immense research on the different aspects OTTs, but none has been done in context to OTT streaming video content’s e-WOM and subscription intention.     The Adequacy of the Rehabilitation External Auditor’s Using Analytical Procedures in Identifying and Evaluating Banking Risks: a Field Study on a Sample of Auditing Companies and Offices in Iraq

    Purpose: The purpose of the research is to provide information about the Adequacy of the scientific and practical qualifications as well as the significance of the fact that the external auditor (auditor of accounts) should have such qualifications to enable him to carry out the audit process effectively and efficiently. This enables him to use the analytical techniques and their varied ways to recognize and assess the significant banking risks that must be focused on, as well as to pinpoint the areas that require more research and audit tests.   Theoretical framework: The research is based on a main hypothesis that meeting the qualification requirements (scientifically and practically) for the external auditor would enable him to employ analytical procedures during the various stages of the audit process to identify and evaluate the banking risks).   Methodology: The research is based on the descriptive method to cover the theoretical and analytical part in the practical side by creating a questionnaire that was given to a sample of auditors and those working with them in businesses and audit offices in Iraq of the first class using (70) questionnaires. The statistical program (SPSS v.18) (AMOS V.24) was relied upon to analyze the data and test the hypotheses.   Results: The research arrived at the conclusion that the availability of the external auditor's scientific and practical qualifications contributes to employing analytical procedures and using them in the audit process, enabling him to assess banking risks, increase the chance of finding and reporting violations, and prevent deficiencies in the performance of audit duties.   The impact of the study on community: Emphasizing that bodies and organizations should prepare programs and training courses to increase the auditor’s scientific and practical qualification, especially in areas that contribute to acquiring the knowledge and skill necessary to apply analytical procedures and areas that work to improve and enhance their capabilities in the field of auditing.   Scientific value: One of the motives of the study is to draw the attention of the external auditor to the importance of being sufficiently qualified from a scientific and practical point of view in the field of applying analytical procedures and their various methods and their impact on increasing the results obtained and access to key facts in the banking sector

    The Relationship of Leadership, Discipline, Satisfaction, and Performance: A Case Study of Steel Manufacture in Indonesia

    Purpose: The aim of this study is to predict the relationship of leadership, discipline, satisfaction, and performance.   Theoretical framework: The framework was developed based on the relationship of transactional leadership, transformational leadership, work discipline, job satisfaction, and employee performance.   Design/methodology/approach: The study use quantitative approach. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents. Data were analyzed statistically use smartPLS.   Findings: The results indicated that there is a positive direct effect of transactional leadership to job satisfaction and job performance. There is a positive direct effect of transformational leadership to job performance but not to job satisfaction. There is a positive direct effect of work discipline to job satisfaction but not to job performance. Job Satisfaction mediates the positive effect of Transcational Leadership to Job Performance and Work Discipline to Job Performance, but not mediates the positive effect of Transformational Leadership to Job Performance.   Research, Practical & Social implications: The study implied to  to the body of knowledge of job performance and  job satisfaction to fill the research gaps. The study also implied to business practitioner in managing job performance through job satisfaction based on leadership and discipline.   Originality/value: The value of the study indicate performance and satisfaction are very important and related with leadership and discipline

    An Empirical Investigation of Absorptive Capacity on Technology Transfer Effectiveness Through Organizational Innovation

    Purpose:   Achieving technology transfer effectiveness (TTE) remains challenging in developing and underdeveloped economies to improve social infrastructures and develop economic systems. Bringing effectiveness in technology transfer is a complicated process for organizations that require improvement in their absorptive capacity (ACAP) and organizational innovation (OI). In the Information and communication technology (ICT) sector of Pakistan, technology transfer is ineffective due to a lack of ACAP and OI. This study aims to investigate the impact of ACAP and OI on TTE in the ICT sector of Pakistan.   Theoretical framework:   This study empirically investigated the relationship of ACAP and OI with TTE with underpinning organizational learning theory.   Design/methodology/approach:  A cross-sectional survey design was adapted for collecting data from 393 management representatives from 33 organizations of two main sub-sectors (Telecommunications and Information Technology) of the ICT sector of Pakistan. PLS-SEM was used for the reliability and validity measurement of research constructs. It also tested the hypothesized relationships between ACAP, OI, and TTE.   Findings:  This study confirmed the significant relationship of ACAP and OI with TTE. Further, the results also confirmed the mediation of OI between ACAP and TTE in the ICT sector of Pakistan.   Research, Practical & Social implications:  The implication of this research is to help government institutions and public and private sectors to develop mechanisms, economic policies, strategies, and business support for effective technology transfer in the ICT sector. This research model is also helpful for researchers and practitioners in its applicability in other industries, countries, and cross-cultural environments.   Originality/value:   Due to the lack of research in the ICT sector of Pakistan, this study empirically investigated the hypothesized significant relationships of ACAP and OI with TTE. This study also filled the research gap by evaluating the significant mediation of OI between ACAP and TTE and contributed to the body of knowledge

    Purpose:  This study paper's primary goal is to develop a theory that may be used to describe the behavioral identity that Higher Education Institutions' top management faces when switching between various university contexts.   Theoretical framework: Cheek et al. (1994) defined identity orientation as the relative weight people give to different identity features or characteristics when defining who they are. Identity traits fall into three broadly distinct categories: personal, social, and collective.   Design/methodology/approach:   The study utilized a quantitative approach with a survey questionnaire distributed to 16 top executives in Public and Private Higher Education Institutions in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. Factor Analysis of maximum likelihood was the statistical tool used in this study.   Findings:  Results revealed that three co-existence theory factors were established: socio-cultural, intra-personal, and socio-collective factors.   Research, Practical & Social implications:   This study explains the implications of the behavioral identity of top executives and offers suggestions for further study.   Originality/value:  The author proposes a new theory that will add to the body of knowledge in the study of behavioral identity and guide further investigation of the three identified factors of the co-existence theory.  Propósito: El objetivo principal de este artículo de estudio es desarrollar una teoría que pueda usarse para describir la identidad conductual a la que se enfrenta la alta dirección de las instituciones de educación superior cuando cambia entre varios contextos universitarios. Metodología: El estudio utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo con un cuestionario de encuesta distribuido a 16 altos ejecutivos de instituciones de educación superior públicas y privadas en Zamboanga del Norte, Filipinas. El análisis factorial de máxima verosimilitud fue la herramienta estadística utilizada en este estudio. Conclusiones: Los resultados revelaron que se establecieron tres factores de la teoría de la convivencia: factores socioculturales, intrapersonales y sociocolectivos. Implicaciones de la Investigación: Este estudio explica las implicaciones de la identidad conductual de los altos ejecutivos y ofrece sugerencias para estudios posteriores.  Objetivo: O objetivo principal deste estudo é desenvolver uma teoria que possa ser usada para descrever a identidade comportamental que a alta administração das Instituições de Ensino Superior enfrenta ao alternar entre vários contextos universitários. Referencial teórico: Cheek et ai. (1994) definiram orientação de identidade como o peso relativo que as pessoas atribuem a diferentes características ou características de identidade ao definir quem são. Os traços de identidade se enquadram em três categorias amplamente distintas: pessoais, sociais e coletivas. Desenho/metodologia/abordagem: O estudo utilizou uma abordagem quantitativa com um questionário de pesquisa distribuído a 16 altos executivos de Instituições de Ensino Superior Públicas e Privadas em Zamboanga del Norte, Filipinas. A análise fatorial de máxima verossimilhança foi a ferramenta estatística utilizada neste estudo. Resultados: Os resultados revelaram que três fatores da teoria da coexistência foram estabelecidos: fatores socioculturais, intrapessoais e sociocoletivos.     The Relationships Between Technology Adoption, HR Competencies, and HR Analytics of Large-Size Enterprises

    Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore the organizational construct that have relationship to HR Analytics in large-size organizations that operate their businesses in Thailand.   Theoretical framework: Technology Adoption and HR Competencies are the two organizational constructs that are introduced in this study to examine their relationship with the HR Analytics.   Design/methodology/approach: The study adopts a confirmatory factor analysis to develop the structural equation model through data collection from large-size organizations in Thailand.   Findings: The hypotheses of the proposed conceptual framework are confirmed at significant level of p < 0.01. In addition, the study also provided statistical confirmation of the role of Technology Adoption as a mediating factor of HR Competencies to HR Analytics.   Research, Practical & Social implications: The study gives the results to support the call from many authors around the area of HR Analytics and its influence on organization management.   Originality/value: The study offers pioneer views on the relationship of relevant organizational dimensions to the HR Analytics and helps to bridge the gaps on the existing studies

    A Study on Quality of Work Life of Software Professionals in Bengaluru City

    Purpose: The earning potential of software companies depends on their employees’ productivity. To improve productivity, the organizations have to provide their employees with a pleasant working environment.  By offering pleasant Quality of Work Life (QWL) a company may retain efficient employees and keep them preoccupied with work, thereby improving productivity.    Design / Methodology / Approach: Study being descriptive in nature. Data relevant to the study have been collected by employing well-structured questionnaire. By adopting convenience sampling technique software employees have been selected from Bengaluru city. Data have been gathered from select software professionals at Bengaluru city.  Questions relating to personal profile and quality of work life are included in the questionnaire.   Findings: Result of chi-square test discloses that gender, educational qualification, type of family and working hours significantly influences the perception of QWL of Software Professionals.   Practical Implications: The result of the study assist employers to understand their employees’ perception towards quality of work life and understand the employees’ expectations thereby, management are in a positon to fulfil the expectations of the employees.  Once employees’ expectations are fulfilled dedicated and committed employees may be retained at the workplace and efficient employees are attracted, thereby productivity and profitability of an institution may improve.   Social Implications: Offering better working environment at work place may motivate employees to be loyal and committed and to put their level best for the development of an organization as a whole.   Sincere and committed employees are an asset for the institution, their efforts not only contribute towards institution growth but also growth of a nation as a whole.   Originality / Value: Data collected through questionnaire are original in nature.     Formation of a Business Idea for the Development of Hospitality Industry Enterprises in Crisis Conditions

    Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine innovative business ideas to ensure the sustainable development of the hospitality industry through their practical implementation in the conditions of external challenges.   Theoretical framework: The object of the study is the enterprises of the hospitality industry of Ukraine.   Design/methodology/approach: The research used methods of literary analysis, analysis of statistical data of financial and economic activity of hospitality enterprises and, based on the projection of the results of statistical analysis, modeling scenarios of the development of hospitality industry enterprises during the practical implementation of business. ideas proposed in the study.   Findings: Thus, as a result of the conducted research, it is planned to clarify the theoretical concepts of the definition of the concept of a business idea based on taking into account the specific features of the hospitality industry.   Research, Practical & Social implications: A clearer definition of the concept of a business idea makes it possible to deepen the methods of developing business ideas that will be maximally adapted to the requirements and requests of the hospitality industry, in particular in the conditions of external challenges (quarantine), full-scale military aggression, a decrease in the standard of living and income of the population, etc.).   Originality/value: The value of the study is the analysis of the financial and economic activity of the hospitality industry allows to determine the set of factors affecting the processes of financial and economic development, to develop algorithms for modeling trends in the development of the hospitality industry based on the development of development scenarios. &nbsp

    Halal Tourism in Rural Tourism Context: Field Study in Madura-Indonesia

    Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine  halal tourism in managing village tourism in the Madura region, Indonesia.   Theoretical framework:  Rural tourism mostly is domestic phenomenon, a different nature from industry and the various ways in which it is felt across continents. Rural tourism seen synonymous with sustainable development tourism   with all that is implied for nature, scale, character and possession tourism development (Sharpley & Roberts, 2004). Based on The National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Religious Leader in Fatwa number 08/DSN-MUI/X/2016 concerning Guidelines for implementing Tourism Based on Sharia Principles, there are 12 relevant elements to the rural tourism level.   Design/methodology/approach: The study used a comparative descriptive qualitative approach in three locations. Data is collected through unstructured interviews with village tourism managers, village heads, and visitors. The comparative descriptive data analysis technique is based on the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Religious Leader No. 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Sharia Tourism which was modified at the village level.   Findings:  The results of data analysis show that village tourism managers have not fully implemented halal tourism indicators such as worship facilities and infrastructure, potential social and immoral problems, security and tranquility, and guarantee of halal products. This finding contributes to policymakers' improving regulations to implement halal indicators in village tourism.   Research, Practical & Social implications:  This research is still limited to tourist destinations and has not observed the nature of the village as a tourism potential nor the potential for culture and customs to become a tourist attraction. Future research can examine community-based village tourism models in Madura, not mass tourism. The potential of the Taneyan Lanjhang traditional house as a village tourism homestay using the rural participative action research method is exciting research in the future.   Originality/value: The study uses the halal tourism concept, based on the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Religious Leader, which is modified with the level of rural tourism
