SUSTENTABILIDADE DO SERVIÇO GASTRONÔMICO PARA O POSICIONAMENTO DO DESTINO TURÍSTICO DA BAHIA DE CARÁQUEZ. EQUADOR
Objective: Evaluate the gastronomic services offered by restaurants in the area to define the level of impact it has on the perception of national and international consumers.
Theoretical Framework: Preliminary studies demonstrate that the consumer behavior evaluation model for the marketing of tourist destinations from its methodological context is presumed to model consumer behavior from an ex-ante assessment, the design of change actions and an ex-post reevaluation. ; contributes to achieving changes and allows obtaining better economic and commercial results in the tourist destination proposed by Lemoine; Hernández et al., (2021).
Method: The methodology was structured in three stages that from its conception facilitated a study in accordance with the quantitative research demands. Through the inductive method, certain behavior of the gastronomic activity was observed, denoting representative statistics to develop efficient management and business decision making.
Results and Discussion: In the evaluation, it was determined to classify the gastronomic services into three categories where two restaurants represented 54% of the best evaluated in category A, three represented 28% that placed it in category B and 9 that represent 18% that belong to category “C” and are considered regular.
Research Implications: The investigation shows that digital platforms such as Tripadvisor contribute to decision making and define effective strategies to achieve business objectives.
Originality/Value: Fisher Matrix adapted to the research object made it easier to observe the deficiencies of the gastronomic activity with the purpose of using as a strategy the modeling of the behavior of the consumer who frequents the destination.O presente estudo foi realizado para determinar a sustentabilidade através da percepção dos clientes sobre os serviços gastronômicos oferecidos em restaurantes da cidade de Bahia de Caráquez, no Equador, através da plataforma TripAdvisor. O método indutivo facilitou a determinação do nível de serviço onde o restaurante Puerto Amistada recebeu o maior número de visitantes, 39% avaliaram seus serviços como excelentes e 34% como muito bons. Determinou-se classificar os serviços gastronômicos em três categorias onde dois restaurantes representaram 54% dos mais bem avaliados na categoria A três representaram 28% que o colocaram na categoria B e 9 que representam 18% que pertencem à categoria “C” e são considerados regular. A Matriz Fisher, através de critérios especializados, tendo em conta as categorias de restaurantes, foram colocados no quadrante de mau serviço, restaurantes de categoria C. Propõe-se a aplicação de estratégias de posicionamento, aliança e cooperação que contribuam para a melhoria dos serviços e para a sustentabilidade gastronómica
THE IMPACT OF AUDIT COMMITTEE CHARACTERISTICS ON FINANCIAL REPORTING QUALITY: EVIDENCE FROM SAUDI ARABIA
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of audit committee characteristics, namely independent members in the audit committee, a financial expert in the audit committee, frequency of meetings, and audit committee size on financial reporting quality proxies by qualified audit opinion, to shed light on the role of audit committee characteristics towards the financial reporting quality with audit quality as one of the control variables, particularly the appointment of Big 4 company.
Design/Methodology/Approach: A sample of 292 observations from Saudi non-financial listed companies from 2019 -2022 were collected from annual reports across four years and analyzed using panel data. To analyze the proposed hypothesis, the study employed multiple linear regression and logistic regression.
Findings: The results indicate that the only audit committee characteristic statistically related to financial reporting quality measured by qualified audit opinion is the financial expert's number. There is also evidence that audit quality measured by audit company size (Big4) is positively related to the audit committee and financial reporting quality.
Research Limitations/Implications: The study’s main limitation is that a large sum of the data collected are traced back to the lockdown period. Therefore, the examined issues could change in the future due to the shift in priorities that the COVID-19 pandemic is determining.
Practical Implications: The result will help accountancy professionals and governments as it highlights the relevance of qualified audit opinions to audit committees and enhances audit committees’ characteristics and role in improving audit quality. The findings of this study contribute to the current audit quality and reporting literature
RISK MANAGEMENT IN INSURANCE INDUSTRY AMID THE HEALTH CRISIS: A STUDY OF A SAMPLE OF DAMAGE INSURANCE COMPANIES IN ALGERIA
Purpose: This study examined the effectiveness of risk management in the insurance industry in light of the health crisis of the Algerian insurance companies, which are estimated at 24 companies.
Methodology: In this study, we used a questionnaire tool that includes closed questions, containing four axes, and we want to analyze the fourth axis, which consists of six questions. The response of 13 damages insurance companies was analyzed using the statistical program SPSS, using various statistical methods.
Finding and Conclusion: The study concluded that insurance companies rely on allocating participatory committees for all specializations to predict future risks, and this is explained by the presence of statistical significance in the level of identifying alternatives and choosing the appropriate method, in addition to most of the answers agreeing at a rate of 100% and ranked first according to the ranking of the sample phrases of the study.
Originality/Value: The findings of this study provide the dynamic adaptability of the insurance sector in response to global challenges, demonstrating its critical role in maintaining economic stability and facilitating growth during times of crisis. The findings from this study not only reflect the resilience of the sector but also underscore the importance of continuous innovation and strategic foresight in navigating the complexities of the modern economic landscape.RESUMO
Objetivo: Este estudo analisou a eficácia da gestão de risco no setor dos seguros à luz da crise sanitária das companhias de seguros argelinas, estimadas em 24 empresas.
Metodologia: Neste estudo, utilizamos um instrumento de questionário que inclui perguntas fechadas, divididas em quatro eixos, com o intuito de analisar o quarto eixo, composto por seis perguntas. As respostas de 13 companhias de seguros de danos foram analisadas com o auxílio do programa estatístico SPSS, empregando diversos métodos estatísticos.
Resultados e conclusões: O estudo permitiu concluir que as companhias de seguros confiam na atribuição de comissões participativas a todas as especializações para a previsão de riscos futuros. Isso se explica pela presença de significância estatística na identificação de alternativas e na escolha do método adequado. Além disso, a maioria das respostas apresentou uma taxa de concordância de 100% e ficou em primeiro lugar de acordo com o ranking das frases da amostra do estudo.
Originalidade/Valor: As conclusões deste estudo revelam a adaptabilidade dinâmica do setor dos seguros em resposta aos desafios globais, demonstrando seu papel fundamental na manutenção da estabilidade econômica e na facilitação do crescimento em tempos de crise. Essas conclusões não apenas refletem a resiliência do setor, mas também destacam a importância da inovação contínua e da previsão estratégica para navegar nas complexidades do panorama econômico moderno.RESUMEN
Propósito: Este estudio examinó la eficacia de la gestión de riesgos en el sector de seguros a la luz de la crisis sanitaria de las compañías de seguros argelinas, estimadas en 24 empresas.
Metodología: En este estudio, se utilizó un instrumento de cuestionario que incluye preguntas cerradas, dividido en cuatro ejes, y se pretendió analizar el cuarto eje, compuesto por seis preguntas. Se analizó la respuesta de 13 compañías de seguros de daños con el programa estadístico SPSS, utilizando diversos métodos estadísticos.
Resultados y conclusiones: El estudio concluyó que las compañías de seguros confían en la asignación de comités participativos para todas las especialidades para prever los riesgos futuros, lo que se explica por la presencia de significación estadística en la identificación de alternativas y la elección del método adecuado. Además, la mayoría de las respuestas estuvieron de acuerdo en una tasa del 100% y ocuparon el primer lugar según la clasificación de las frases de la muestra del estudio.
Originalidad/Valor: Los hallazgos de este estudio muestran la adaptabilidad dinámica del sector asegurador en respuesta a los desafíos globales, demostrando su papel crítico en el mantenimiento de la estabilidad económica y facilitando el crecimiento en tiempos de crisis. AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF POTENTIAL FACTORS IMPACTING STUDENT SATISFACTION – A STUDY FOCUSED ON STUDENTS LIVING IN THE NORTH OF ALBANIA AND ATTENDING PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES (CASE: UNIVERSITY OF SHKODRA, UNIVERSITY OF TIRANA AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE, TIRANA
Objective: This study aims to explore the factors influencing student satisfaction among attendees of public universities in the northern region of Albania, against the backdrop of declining student enrollment and significant emigration trends.
Theoretical Framework: Student satisfaction is understood as a crucial aspect of educational evaluation, influenced by various factors such as educational experiences, services, and facilities (Chatzoglou et al., 2021). Emphasis is placed on understanding the interplay between demographic variables and their impact on satisfaction levels.
Method: Data was collected via questionnaires distributed to students at the University of Shkodra, Tirana, and the University of Medicine in 2023. Factor and reliability analyses were employed to identify significant factors affecting student satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis was conducted, with variables including reputation, cost of study, course quality, employability prospects, and service quality.
Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that demographic variables exhibit a notable influence on student satisfaction levels. Moreover, the regression analysis identified several factors—such as reputation, cost of study, and service quality—as significant predictors of student satisfaction.
Research Implications: This study contributes to understanding the nuanced dynamics of student satisfaction within the Albanian higher education context. The findings hold implications for university administrators and policymakers in devising strategies to enhance student satisfaction and address the challenges of declining enrollment.
Originality/Value: By focusing on the specific context of northern Albanian public universities, this research sheds light on understudied aspects of student satisfaction amidst broader socio-economic challenges. The study's findings underscore the importance of tailored interventions to improve overall student experiences and retention rates
THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION IN SUCCESS OF STARTUPS IN ALGERIA
Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the role of technological innovation in the success of startups in Algeria, with the aim of musering impact of Technological innovation has a positive impact on the survival of emerging enterprises by providing innovative products or services, which enhances their chances of survival in the market, and their innovative business models that help them compete and survive for a longer period in the market.
Theoretical Framework: In this topic, the main concepts and theories that underpin the research are presented. Rupert Maclaurin developed Schumpeter's ideas and analysed technological innovation as a process and proposed the theory of technological innovation, which was later called the linear model of innovation, and Skawińska and Zalewski see that: Success of startups is about achieving a competitive advantage, which is embodied in the possession and application of intangible and unique resources and skills to meet the needs of the market faster and in a better way than competitors . stand out, providing a solid basis for understanding the context of the investigation.
Method: The methodology adopted for this research comprises studying a sample of Algerian startups. Technological innovation in startups has been measured through three dimensions: product or service, process, and business. As for the impact on the success of startups, it has been measured through four dimensions: financing, revenues, employment, and survival. Data collection was carried out through by a questionnaire was presented in this study to a sample of startups in Algeria, and analysing the data based by the statistical program SPSS, V29 and partial least squares path modelling with Plspm package of the R program].
Results and Discussion: The results obtained revealed that there is a positive impact of technological innovation on the success of startups and on both financing, revenues, employment, and survival. Besides, there are no statistically significant differences for personal and professional variables, except for gender, on the success of startups in Algeria. In the discussion section, these results are contextualized in light of the theoretical framework, highlighting the implications and relationships identified. Possible discrepancies and limitations of the study are also considered in this section.
Research Implications: The practical and theoretical implications of this research are discussed, providing insights into how the results can be applied or influence practices in the field of Business management for startups. These implications could encompass small and medium enterprises in the North African region.
Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by accessing a new field of knowledge in Algeria, represented by emerging institutions, and the challenge of their continuity and success in competitive markets, as well as the use of new statistical methods. The relevance and value of this research are evidenced by confirmed results that the Technological innovation have a positive impact on financing Starups through innovative products and services provided by enterprises, which lead to increased investment and attract investor interest in emerging enterprises that have an innovative and scalable business model, improving opportunities for obtaining financing, as well as gaining new clients and users to create a new revenue streams through innovative products and services provided, and innovation in the process also contributes to reducing costs and increasing revenues
SERVICE QUALITY PERCEPTION AND BEHAVIOURAL PURCHASE INTENTION IN HOTELS: A MEASUREMENT INVARIANCE OF COMPOSITE (MICOM) APPROACH
Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate service quality perception and behavioural purchase intention in hotels by utilizing a Measurement Invariance of Composite (MICOM) approach with the aim of understanding the differences in the service quality perception among male and female guests in hotels.
Theoretical Framework: In this topic, the main concepts and theories that underpin the research are presented. The service quality theory and the theory of planned behaviour stand out, providing a solid basis for understanding the context of the investigation.
Method: The methodology adopted for this research comprises the explanation design, including a quantitative approach. A total of 751 questionnaires were completed by visitors to Ghanaian hotels
Results and Discussion: The results obtained revealed that although male and female hotel visitors perceive service quality differently, there are no appreciable variations between the impact of service quality perception on behavioural purchase intent. In the discussion section, these results are contextualized in light of the theoretical framework, highlighting the implications and relationships identified. Possible discrepancies and limitations of the study are also considered in this section.

ANÁLISE DO EFEITO DAS PESQUISAS DA INTERNET VIA “GOOGLE TRENDS” NO COMPORTAMENTO DO MERCADO ACIONÁRIO
Objective: The research objective was to identify the effect of internet searches via Google Trends on investors' decisions between 2019 and September 2022, as well as their impacts on the price, return, and volume of assets, PETR4, VALE3, and ITUB4.
Theoretical Framework: Traditional economic theory assumes that economic agents are rational. However, individuals have limited rationality for behavioral finance and are influenced by heuristics, representativeness, structuring, exaggerated reactions, fear, and optimism, among other factors.
Method: Pearson's Correlation Coefficient model was used with the historical series data of the adjusted closing price and trading volume of the companies' shares, collected from Yahoo Finance. The daily volume of searches for terms, company names, and their respective tickers was collected on Google Trends. In addition, the return and volatility of the assets were calculated.
Results and Discussion: The results showed that the volume of searches on Google Trends for the term "company name" showed a significant correlation with the share price, being 19% for Vale, 25% for Itaú Unibanco, and -38% for Petrobras. Regarding the return visit, no correlation was observed with the variables studied. It is concluded that the information sought by investors on Google, through the name of the company, has a reduced influence on the movement of asset prices since several micro and macroeconomic factors affect the stock market.Objetivo: O objetivo da investigação foi identificado no efeito das duas equipes na Internet, uma viagem do Google Trends nas decisões dos inversores entre 2019 e setembro de 2022, asi como seus impactos no precio, retorno e volume de atividades, PETR4, VALE3 e ITUB4.
Marco Teórico: A teoria económica tradicional assuma que os agentes económicos são racionais. Sin embargo, para as finanças conductuais, os indivíduos tienen una racionalidad limitada e está influenciado pela heurística, a representação, a estruturación, as reacciones exageradas, o miedo, o otimismo, entre otros fatores.
Método: Se utilizou o modelo de coeficiente de correlação de Pearson com os dados da série histórica da precisão do julgamento e do volume da negociação das ações das empresas, recopilados de Yahoo Finance. O volumen diario de búsquedas de términos, nombres de empresas e seus respetivos tickers se recopilou no Google Trends. Además, calculou a rentabilidade e a volatilidade das atividades.
Resultados e Discusión: Os resultados mais rararam que o volume de búsquedas no Google Trends para o tremino "nombre de la empresa" mais foi uma correlação significativa com o precio de la acción, siendo de 19% para Vale, 25% para Itaú Unibanco y -38% para Petrobras. Em homenagem à visita de regresso, não se observou correlação com as variáveis estudadas. Concluye que a informação foi buscada pelos inversores no Google, uma viagem ao nome da empresa, até uma influência reduzida no movimento dos preços das atividades, ya que varios fatores, tanto micro como macroeconômicos, afectan al mercado de valores.

O volume diário de pesquisas pelos termos, nomes das empresas e seus respectivos tickers foi coletado no Tendências do Google. Além disso, foram calculados o retorno e uma volatilidade dos ativos.
Resultados e Discussão: Os resultados demonstraram que o volume de pesquisas no Tendências do Google pelo termo "nome da empresa" apresentou correlação significativa com o preço das ações, meio de 19% para Vale, 25% para Itaú Unibanco e -38% para Petrobras. Em relação ao retorno, não foi observada correlação com como variáveis estudadas. Conclui-se que como informações buscadas pelos investidores no Google, atraves do nome da empresa, tem influência reduzida no movimento dos filhos dos ativos, uma vez que diversos fatores, tanto micro quanto macroeconômicos, afetam o mercado acionário.
 
WINNING OVER THE GEN Z: EMPIRICAL INSIGHTS INTO SOCIAL MEDIA BEHAVIOUR DURING TRAVEL
Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the social media behavior of Generation Z during travel, focusing on their product and service choices, as well as the environmental motivations behind these choices. The aim is to understand how social media influences their travel decisions and promotes responsible tourist behavior.
Theoretical Framework: This research is grounded in theories of digital marketing and consumer behavior, particularly in the context of social media's impact on tourism. Concepts such as interactive marketing, online reviews, and social media influence are central to this investigation, providing a solid basis for understanding the dynamics of Gen Z's travel behavior.
Method: The methodology adopted for this research comprises a mixed-method approach. Questionnaires were distributed, yielding 301 valid responses from Gen Z individuals born between 1995 and 2015, who had traveled at least twice a year and been active on social media for at least two years. The data collection was supplemented by interviews to gain deeper insights into their social media usage and travel preferences. Statistical tools were employed to analyze the data.
Results and Discussion: The results revealed key social media preferences and usage patterns among Gen Z travelers. Notably, positive online reviews and social media influence were significant factors in their travel decisions. The discussion contextualizes these findings within the theoretical framework, highlighting the implications for effective marketing strategies. Discrepancies and limitations of the study are also considered, providing a comprehensive understanding of the research outcomes.
Research Implications: The practical and theoretical implications of this research are significant, offering insights into how social media can be leveraged to foster responsible tourist behavior. These findings can influence practices in the tourism industry, particularly in marketing strategies aimed at Gen Z. The implications extend to benefiting local communities and the environment while enhancing tourist satisfaction.
Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by highlighting the innovative approach of examining social media's role in shaping responsible travel behavior among Gen Z. The relevance and value of this research are evidenced by its potential to impact marketing practices in the tourism sector, promoting sustainable tourism and benefiting both travelers and local destinations
