    Mineralogical analysis of plutonic and volcanic rocks at selected slope sections of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway

    The Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KL-KH) is a key route connecting Kuala Lumpur to the East Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia. It passes through three distinct geological formations: the Kuala Lumpur Granite, Genting Sempah Complex, and Bentong Raub Suture Zone. These formations feature unique rock mineral compositions and microstructures that influence the strength and behavior of rock masses. This study used X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to analyze the mineralogical properties of plutonic and volcanic rock samples from the highway. The plutonic sample from KM29 (GKM29) consists of quartz, muscovite, and albite, while the volcanic sample from KM93 (LKM93) is rhyolite, containing quartz, albite, muscovite, and biotite. While both samples share similar minerals, they differ in texture, mineral proportions, and carbon content. The GKM29 sample has a more granular texture, while the LKM93 sample is finer. These differences in mineral composition and texture affect the mechanical properties of the rocks, including strength and durability, which are crucial for slope stability. Understanding these variations is essential for assessing slope stability and potential geological hazards along the highway. This study emphasizes the importance of early geological assessments for effective slope management and road safety, enabling better planning and maintenance strategies

    Spatial components in social interaction spaces: a review of Jakarta urban kampongs dwellers

    Architecture exists because of the response to the needs of human social relationships. Space is one part of architecture that is very important for use in everyday human life, one of which is social interaction space. Urban kampongs are settlements in Jakarta that contain social interaction space for dwellers. This space is an important space and is often discussed in the scope of architecture, but there has been no special review of the aspects that form the social interaction space used by dwellers of urban kampongs in Jakarta. Therefore, it is important to conduct a special study that discusses the aspects that form the social interaction space in urban kampongs. This study is a literature study that uses a qualitative method with a narrative descriptive analysis approach. The basic literature used is an understanding of spaces from the perspective of sociology, anthropology, and geography. The results of the study show that the social interaction space of dwellers of urban kampongs in Jakarta is greatly influenced by non-physical aspects (socio-cultural) and physical aspects (location). This study is very useful for enriching the theory regarding the social interaction space of urban kampongs in particular and the theory of spatial design in general.

    NAVIGATING TRUTH IN THE NEWS ENVIRONMENT ON DIGITAL PLATFORMS

    Online media platforms, mainly social media and Google, are often referenced in the crowded digital information environment. However, this has led to increased violations such as ignoring ethical codes, lack of verification, unbalanced reporting, sexual provocation, and slanderous news. The urgency of this research is to find out the subject's experience when the quantity of information is abundant and whether they have balanced it with literacy in navigating to get the truth when consuming news on digital platforms. This study aims to discover and reveal how sceptical audiences experience navigating the truth in the news environment on digital platforms. Using a descriptive phenomenology approach, the qualitative research design was conducted through in-depth interviews with 14 participants from various work professions. The results found that actors who navigate the truth use social media applications such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook by checking the credibility of news sources, considering context, and verifying from other sources. Users chose to wait for the original truth of the event through follow-up posts from multiple sources on WA, Line, and Snapchat. Moreover, search engines are used to confirm news on social media, such as the 2024 elections in Indonesia.

    Bangunan bersejarah atau situs bersejarah didefinisikan sebagai lokasi resmi di mana potongan sejarah politik, militer, budaya, atau sosial telah dilestarikan karena nilai warisan budayanya. Bangunan ini merupakan bagian integral dari kekayaan warisan setiap negara. Terlepas dari wilayah tempat mereka berada, bangunan bersejarah milik semua orang di seluruh dunia. Salah satu cara untuk melestarikan bangunan bersejarah adalah dengan cara penggunaan bangunan kembali secara adaptif. Masalah yang dihadapi adalah tidak mudah menyesuaikan fungsi baru dengan bangunan lama. Seperti museum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi kinerja termal pada museum Bahari yang merupakan bangunan lama. Evaluasi kinerja termal ini difokuskan kepada suhu udara dan kelembaban relative. Kedua factor ini berpengaruh terhadap kenyamanan pengunjung dan benda pamer. Metode yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survey untuk mengetahui kondisi termal museum dan persepsi pengunjung terhadap kondisi tersebut. Penelitian ini juga mengkaji persepsi pengunjung terhadap kondisi termal di ruang pamer Museum Bahari yang menggunakan ventilasi alami maupun sistem AC. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa suhu rata-rata di kedua jenis ruang tersebut masih berada di atas standar kenyamanan termal ideal (24–26°C). Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya evaluasi sistem penghawaan demi kenyamanan pengunjung dan pelestarian artefak dalam bangunan bersejarah

    Mencapai net zero pada tahun 2050 sangat penting untuk mengatasi perubahan iklim dan mengurangi emisi CO2. Salah satu pendekatan berkelanjutan adalah meningkatkan aksesibilitas pejalan kaki guna mendorong aktivitas berjalan yang lebih aman dan nyaman. Studi ini mengeksplorasi aksesibilitas pejalan kaki di perumahan formal berdasarkan standar Greenship Kawasan, dengan Perumahan Navapark di Tangerang sebuah proyek berperingkat platinum sebagai studi kasus. Penelitian ini menelaah pola kegiatan dan kriteria aksesibilitas. Temuan menunjukkan adanya ketidaksesuaian antara standar Greenship dan peraturan yang berlaku di Indonesia, yang sebagian besar disebabkan oleh acuan Greenship terhadap American Disabilities Act tahun 1990. Diperlukan penyesuaian agar sesuai dengan aturan lokal, termasuk lebar jalan, penyediaan rambu, jalur pemandu, serta fasilitas pejalan kaki yang aman dan nyaman

    Pandemi Covid-19 telah melemahkan berbagai sektor Indonesia, termasuk sektor konstruksi. Berbagai perubahan terjadi akibat pandemi menuntut semua pihak termasuk pelaku usaha untuk beradaptasi. Meski pekerjaan konstruksi merupakan sektor usaha yang dikecualikan dari pembatasan aktivitas sosial, kondisi pandemi ini tetap berpengaruh pada kelangsungan usaha konstruksi dari mulai pencalonan waktu tender. Perpu Nomor 1 Tahun 2020 menetapkan alokasi APBN untuk penanganan COVID-19, sebagian besar difokuskan untuk belanja alat dan bahan kesehatan dan hanya sedikit terkait dengan pekerjaan konstruksi (Masinambow & Gosal, 2021). Dalam menjawab permasalahan yang ditemukan di lapangan, tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang menghambat dalam proses tender kontraktor selama pandemik covid-19 di Indonesia dengan menyebar form kuesioner. Pendekatan yang diusulkan dikembangkan dalam kasus ini adalah melalui pendekatan metode Delphi yang mengkaji struktur kuesioner dan merancang kesimpulan dan pendekatan SmartPLS dengan menguji nilai Cronbach’s Alpha dan Composite Reliability. Hasil dari tugas akhir ini proses tender terhadap kontraktor mempunyai pengaruh signifikan dari keterbatasan tenaga ahli, ketersediaan kuota internet, keterbatasan peralatan material dan penerapan Building Information Modelling (BIM).     Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari perilaku struktur gedung serbaguna dengan sistem struktur balok-kolom beton bertulang dengan atap mono beam menggunakan glulam. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode analisis numerik berbasis perhitungan struktural. Analisis struktur menggunakan perangkat lunak analisis elemen hingga untuk mengevaluasi respons struktur terhadap beban gempa. Analisis dilakukan dengan metode statik ekivalen sesuai dengan SNI 1726:2019. Ruang lingkup penelitian yaitu struktur bangunan gedung terletak di Padalarang, Kabupaten Bandung Barat dengan parameter SDs sebesar 0,77 dan SD1 sebesar 0,77. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian yaitu waktu getar ragam 3 (tiga) ragam pertama memenuhi ketentuan translasi pada kedua arah utama gedung dan rotasi. Deformasi dan drift yang terjadi memenuhi persyaratan batasan ijin sesuai SNI 1726:2019. Kolom dan balok beton bertulang mempunyai kapasitas yang dapat menahan beban terfaktor maksimum. Glulam bentang 35m direncanakan mempunyai kapasitas yang mencukupi menahan beban terfaktor maksimum yang terjadi sehingga teknologi berbasis kayu rekayasa dapat menjadi alternatif solusi struktur bentang panjang

    Lightweight steel profiles have relatively thin thickness dimensions with the ratio of the dimensions of the width of each profile element to the thickness is very large, making it prone to bending. In SNI 8399:2017, mentions tolerances for geometric imperfections Bow (bw) (in the perpendicular direction Z-Z),  Twist (h) (X-X direction), Camber, profiles C, Z, U. SNI 8399: 2017 has not been explained what kind of decrease in column strength against  these geometric imperfections. In this study, an analogy was made to the measurement of imperfections in the geometry of the decapitated cone plate  conducted by Pariatmono, 1994. In Pariatmono's research, data  from the circular axis was changed into a horizontal axis by taking several angles in a circle, in this study it was taken every 6º (60 data in one row) and used as data with probablistic behavior. Then from the 60 rods obtained, Fourier analysis was carried out to obtain geometric imperfection equations. From these 60 bars obtained each Fourier coefficient. Then the average is taken, averaging +10%, +20%, +30%, +40%, +50% and -10%, -20%, -30%, -40% and -50% of the standard deviation values. Of the 11 rods, a non-linear buckling analysis was carried out using ANSYS Workbench 2022 R1. The probabilistic compressive analysis of geometric imperfections conducted in this study has not been able to definitively provide a general idea of the limits of geometric imperfections

    Development Of A Fatigue Model For Hot Mix Modified Asphalt Based On The Critical Temperature Of Asphalt Rheology

    External factors that affect the structure of the road pavement are the loads of traffic and the environment (temperature, weather). Fatigue cracking is one of three major distresses for asphalt pavement. One method used for fatigue analysis is classical fatigue.  This method is used to obtain an equation model which predicts the service life of a road pavement. Apart from problems like this, there needs to be innovation both in terms of materials and road pavement planning, namely by modifying the asphalt mixture, such as adding buton asphalt and crumb rubber. This research is intended to develop a Monismith model that is used to predict the fatigue life of a road pavement material. Three types of asphalt, namely 60/70 penetration asphalt, buton modified asphalt and crumb rubber modified asphalt were used in this research. The fatigue test used the Four Point Bending Test (4PBT) tools. The specimen which used to fatigue test with 4 variations of asphalt mixtures, 4 variations of temperatures at 15oC, 20oC, 25oC and 30oC.  The results of the four-point bending test showed that the Nf value (maximum number of repetitions) at a temperature of 30oC was 394,400 cycles, with 15% crumb rubber modified asphalt. The development of a fatigue model with a critical temperature approach to asphalt mechanistic rheology has resulted from this research

    More Than Mindfulness: Why Self-Efficacy Still Matters Most in Inclusive Teaching Stress

    High levels of occupational stress among teachers in inclusive classrooms particularly those educating children with special needs (CWSN), remain a pressing concern in Indonesia. The lack of specialized training and increasing classroom demands exacerbate the psychological burden on inclusive educators. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy, mindfulness, and teacher stress, and to explore whether mindfulness moderates the relationship between self-efficacy and stress. Adopting a quantitative correlational design, this study involved 100 special education teachers from inclusive schools selected through purposive sampling. Instruments used include the Teacher Stress Inventory, all of which demonstrated strong validity and reliability. Correlation analyses revealed that self-efficacy was significantly and negatively associated with teacher stress, while mindfulness showed no direct association with stress. However, a positive correlation was found between social self-efficacy and mindfulness. Moderation analysis indicated that mindfulness did not significantly moderate the relationship between self-efficacy and stress. This study contributes to the literature by integrating mindfulness and self-efficacy in the context of Indonesian inclusive education, a population often underrepresented in existing research. The findings highlight the importance of institutional support and structured mindfulness programs to strengthen teachers’ self-efficacy and alleviate stress in inclusive educational settings
