RESEPSI PEREMPUAN PEROKOK MENGENAI BAHAYA MEROKOK DALAM IKLAN LAYANAN MASYARAKAT “DON’T BREAK MY HEART”
Public service advertising as a creative production often carries an ideology that perpetuates gender-based discriminatory values. No exception is the phenomenon of female smokers in the public service advertisement “don't Break my Heart”. Public acceptance of advertising messages can show a form of rejection or resistance to the discourse brought. So did the women smokers who received the message. This study aims to uncover the reception of women smokers regarding the dangers of smoking in the public service advertisement “don't Break my Heart". This research uses Encoding-Decoding theory and audience reception analysis method. Researchers found 2 informants in the opposition position, 2 informants in the negotiating position and 1 informant in the dominant-hegemonic position. The position of the informant shows that the informant as an active audience is aware of the potentials in public service advertisements that make her as a female smoker increasingly repressed and stigmatized in negative labels
Digital Communication Capacity Enhancement Strategies for Creative Entrepreneurs in Dekranasda South Tangerang City
Digital communication has become a vital element for the success and sustainability of businesses, especially in the creative industry. Entrepreneurs within the creative sector, particularly those associated with Dekranasda South Tangerang City, face challenges in effectively leveraging digital platforms for marketing, branding, and stakeholder engagement. The rapid shift towards digitalization has created both opportunities and challenges for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in adopting and implementing effective communication strategies.This research aims to explore digital communication strategies that can improve the capacity of creative entrepreneurs in optimizing digital platforms. The study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis. Through these methods, the research identifies key obstacles in digital adoption, proposes an effective communication strategy model, and evaluates its impact through focus group discussions (FGDs) with stakeholders.The study concludes that strategic digital communication training and structured marketing frameworks significantly enhance the outreach and business performance of creative entrepreneurs. The findings contribute to both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, offering recommendations for improving digital communication literacy and strategy implementation in the creative industry sector
Adaptive high-level control for robot-assisted rehabilitation: A Discrete Event System approach
This research introduces a two-degree-of-freedom rehabilitation robotic platform to enhance Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) for post-stroke upper limb rehabilitation. Unlike conventional CIMT, that depends on therapist intervention, the proposed system integrates a control framework balancing assistance and autonomy to improve patient engagement and recovery efficiency. The main contribution is a hybrid control architecture combining a low-level impedance controller with a high-level discrete event system (DES) controller. This dual-layer control enables real-time adaptation to a patient’s motor impairment stage, offering dynamic and personalized rehabilitation. The high-level controller, structured around the Chedoke-McMaster Assessment (CMA), facilitates intelligent transitions between rehabilitation states, ensuring robotic assistance matches recovery progress. The design emphasizes simplicity, portability, and user-friendliness, employing a lightweight, cable-driven mechanism that produces smooth and natural movements, closely replicating manual therapy. Experiments with healthy subjects simulating impaired conditions demonstrated the system’s ability to adjust assistance levels and movement velocities according to motor function stages. The results confirm the feasibility of an adaptive, patient-centric control framework that enhances motor engagement and supports progressive rehabilitation. Future work will focus on clinical validation with stroke patients, expanding movement directions, and long-term evaluation of therapeutic outcomes in real-world settings. Overall, this study offers a scalable, data-driven approach bridging robotic automation and therapist-guided rehabilitation, opening new possibilities for improving neuroplasticity and motor recovery after stroke
Optimization of material requirements to support the accuracy of delivery materials based on quantity of cubicost analysis results
Construction projects heavily rely on labor, materials, and equipment to ensure timely completion, with materials being a significant cost component. This study addresses discrepancies between rebar inventory and material demand, which can disrupt production and delay project completion. This study aims to determine the rebar volume using Cubicost TRB and optimize the lowest requirement cost by applying the Silver-Meal and Wagner-Whitin algorithms. Detailed engineering data supports the application, ensuring rebar bends meet technical standards at beam, column, and slab intersections. Material planning incorporates project schedules, inventory records, and rebar volume data from Cubicost. This planning considered the minimization of ordering and storage costs. The results showed that the volume of rebar calculated using the Cubicost application was more accurate than the project's bill of quantity data. The use of the Cubicost application proved to be more advantageous, resulting in a 1% reduction compared to the project data. Then, the Silver Meal algorithm resulted in total costs that were 21% lower than those of the Wagner-Whitin method in minimizing overall inventory costs, particularly for high-demand rebar types such as D13 and D19. These findings highlight the importance of accurate inventory scheduling and selecting appropriate lot-sizing techniques to minimize costs and prevent delays. Future research can compare Cubicost TRB’s accuracy with other software and extend the Silver-Meal and Wagner-Whitin algorithms to other materials
TE-LSTM: winding temperature prediction for induction motors in the oil and gas industry
Induction motor winding failure repair takes longer compared to other failures, such as bearing failure. This research introduces a hybrid deep learning framework, TE-LSTM, to predict winding temperatures in induction motors used in oil and gas operations, aiming to address the challenges of accurately forecasting potential winding failures and enabling proactive maintenance strategies. The TE-LSTM model combines a transformer encoder-based architecture with long short-term memory to effectively model intricate temporal relationships and sensor dynamics within the dataset. The study utilized data collected from January 2016 to December 2024 at 1-minute intervals from induction motors equipped with stator winding temperature sensors, where the motors were designed with Class F insulation and had stage 1 and stage 2 alarms set at 257°F and 285°F, respectively. The findings highlight the efficiency and performance of the TE-LSTM model in predicting winding temperatures, which can significantly reduce unplanned downtime and associated costs, thereby optimizing maintenance operations and enhancing the reliability of the motor
Acoustic and visual optimization in the configuration of exhibition space partitioning
For museum and other exhibition designers, partitions are a crucial element in showcasing exhibition content. The massive partitions also serve to aid the acoustic performance of the space, by isolating the audio content. allowing visitors to better hear the audio content. On the other hand, designers tend to design pavilion spaces for maximum visual connectivity while considering circulation and space efficiency. This research examines the acoustic performance of three commonly used partition models to determine the relationship between partition openness and their respective acoustic environments. This research uses mixed methods to capture the instrumentalizing and perceptual aspects of humans. The objective method uses a digital raytracing simulation and impulse response tests in a 1:1 scale space model. This method describes the sound wave distribution and acoustic performance of a space in terms of several parameters. Conversely, the intersubjective method involved surveying 60 respondents to understand visitors’ perceptions of focus, distraction, and acoustic comfort within the pavilion space. The study demonstrates that a pavilion design with side partitions around 120 cm wide achieves the most optimum performance compared to designs with 240 cm side height partitions or no partitions. Furthermore, the research highlights the acoustic characteristics of the three fundamental pavilion models. These findings can inform people about the development of more tailored and versatile pavilion designs.
Port perspectives in a changing climate: strategies for enduring impact
More than 50% of the world's trade happens via seaborne line. The sustainability of the ports is crucial as it boosts economic growth. However, climate change and its effects have disturbed the port's activities. This paper highlighted the possibility of climate change effects threatening some ports worldwide. A systematic literature review has been conducted, and 11 resources have been used to summarize their impact on port activities. The climate change effects encountered by the ports and their authorities' adaptation measures are underlined. Ports worldwide are considered. As a result, sea level rise (SLR), storm surges, and flooding are some threats that can affect port activities. Adaptation and mitigation plans can be more successfully implemented with excellent knowledge of the factors leading to increased exposure. From the port expansion to creating a new location of ports, the other mitigation and adaptation plan towards the sustainable ports is by providing an accurate topographic map, a good simulation software, and good resilience infrastructures and adaptation framework. The related ports have suggested and implemented adaptation and mitigation approaches to resolve the problem and sustain their ports and harbour activities. Adaptation and mitigation measures taken will respond to the effects of climate change
Bibliometric analysis of research trends in rigid pavement over the last decade
This study presents a bibliometric analysis of research trends in rigid pavement over the last decade, aiming to identify publication trends, research output distribution, main themes, citation patterns, and research gaps. The PRISMA method was employed, and statistical analysis was conducted using bibliometric software. By collecting bibliographic data from academic publications, this research reveals a significant growth in rigid pavement publications, reflecting increased global interest in this field. Major research themes include pavement design, material characterization, construction techniques, maintenance, and performance evaluation. Citation pattern analysis is used to identify influential works in this field. However, this study has limitations in data coverage and is susceptible to biases inherent in bibliometric analysis. Nevertheless, it contributes significantly to understanding the research landscape of rigid pavement, providing valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. Future research could deepen qualitative analysis, track the evolution of research themes, and explore interdisciplinary frameworks to enrich our understanding of rigid pavements
